Reviews for The Saguaro
Reception: Amazing welcoming, professional front desk clerk. We got an upgrade with 2 large beds! :) and free parking. Easy to park very close to room entrance. Rooms: CUTE bright modern decoration, spacious and modern look and the AC was already on and just perfect temperature. rooms are equipped with a little fridge but... I think for hotel should include one water bottle considering the hot temperature outside in the summer time. The water bottles in the rooms are WAY too expensive. Bathroom is equipped with air dryer and little bottles of shampoo and conditioner and enough towels Pools: Very clean and open late! That was a plus they let us pass the 10 pm for swimming since we got there late it was great to be alone in the pool. Sadly we only stayed one night... but I will be back. Beach towels are included in the room Hot tube: very relaxing and clean Restaurant: I found it was too pricey! We ended going outside to eat... There many choices all around the hotel but... sadly once again we got there too late so not many restaurants are open late on Sunday nights! THANK YOU SAGUARO! We will be back. Fun colorful clean perfect location resort with warm pool and free fast WIFI what more can you ask for!!!!!!

We selected this resort in part because of their location near a number of eating and drinking establishments. Another reason for selecting Saguaro was their advertised Winedown Wednesday's, complimentary drinks and appetizers for one hour. When we went to the restaurant, we were informed that they do not hold this event during the summer. So, we said, fine, we'll stay for Happy Hour. The bartender said she had to check, returned and told us no, they don't have Happy Hour. The list of amenities in the room and on their website indicate they have both these amenities and do not specify they are seasonal or discontinued. When we returned to our room after enjoying Happy Hour and dinner elsewhere we found two coupons for one glass of wine each as a consolation. We did not use them as we had already made plans to go elsewhere on the second evening of our stay. Before we left we asked to speak to a manager. She explained that Winedown Wednesday is only held during the winter and Happy Hour had been discontinued. We pointed out that their advertising is outdated and misleading. She apologized and said she thought the two drink coupons should have been a satisfactory resolution. The best part of this hotel is it's walking proximity to Hula, Tommy V's Urban Kitchen, Vine and Hops Wine Bar, and many more if you're willing to walk a little further. All the staff we encountered at Saguaro were professional and courteous. The rooms are old, but updated. We will try another resort for our next staycation. And confirm the advertised amenities are included during the summer season.

From the moment we arrived at the Saguaro, to the moment we departed, the Saguaro staff treated us as though we were special guests. I can't tell you how many times I was greeted by name during our three-night stay. I always say that it's all about the details, and Saguaro is on the right track in so many ways. Sure, there is continued reno going on, but it didn't impact us in any way. So many positives about this place and our entire stay. The room by the pool was awesome, the in room service right on, and the weekend pool party is the bomb! Great people, great place, can't wait to return!
I recently stayed at this hotel and was not impressed. The room was renovated but very cheaply. Things were falling apart and seemed only half way done. On top of that I got stuck in the elevator!! It was hot outside and therefore pretty warm in the elevator. After about 5-10 minutes it randomly started working again and when I mentioned it to staff they commented on the fact that it is always breaking down. Why would they allow guests to use the elevator if that is the case?! Seems dangerous. Definitely would never stay here again. There are plenty of other really nice places to stay in downtown Scottsdale.

This was a great venue for our 25 year high school reunion. The ballroom was nice, the patio area was great and the staff were all friendly and helpful. I would happily recommend this hotel for a family getaway or a group event.
