My husband and I stayed on Scrub for the first time this April and found the island and resort to be an incredibly beautiful and relaxing experience. The views from the island are gorgeous and the resort is well designed to leverage the surrounding beauty. The cuisine at both restaurants is very good. You can also venture to restaurants on Trellis Bay for a change. The Island Last Resort (just off Trellis) is wonderful and has Fire Dancers on Wed night. Because the resort only has 52 rooms, it's never crowded. North beach is a quick shuttle ride away and features loungers built on platforms on the beach. There are also 2 person huts on the beach for those who want to stay out of the sun. They have a bar and lunch there as well. We consistently found everyone at the resort to be very friendly and accommodating. We also ventured off the island to explore Anagada on motor scooters. I recommend the flight over there. It's just 5 minutes and $99 a person. Check out Aragon gallery at Trellis Bay on Tortola which features unique pottery. You can take ferry's to other islands or can just hang out. If you want to really get away then Scrub is for you!!

My wife and I have owned with MVC since 1994, and have typically always stayed MVC properties. While planning our trip to celebrate my 50th birthday, Shannon our vacation advisor with MVC suggested we stay here, and she had me at "private island in the BVI". I am so glad we decided to stay here, as we were able to book a one bedroom Villa overlooking the marina with reward points that we've accrued over the years, rather than our club points. When we arrived, we were greeted at the dock by a member of the concierge with a tray of rum punch, and we were guided to the front office where we were greeted, check in smoothly, EARLY too I might add, and then while we were given a guided walking tour of the property, another staff member brought our bags to our room, and was waiting for us when we got there. The staff is extremely attentive, courteous, and professional and they are very accommodating to guests. Upon entry to our Villa, it was spacious, clean, and had every amenity that we could need in our room. Housekeeping came twice daily, and they too were wonderful in bringing us a spare blanket, or more towels, whenever we needed anything. There are three restaurants on site, two swim up pool side bars, and a few pools too. My wife surprised me with a couples Spa treatment too, which was a very pleasant, unexpected surprise too. It's pricey, as you're on a private island, but simply put, you get what you pay for; and if you're expecting top shelf service, stay here.

Excellent hotel. Highly recommend. It can be a pain to get to but that is the point. It's out of the way and exclusive. The service is top notch. They make you feel at home. The accommodations are fabulous and did I mention: YOU HAVE YOUR OWN ISLAND!! It's not crowded at all. There is just the hotel guests and whomever is docking in the marina. Our entire family had a great time!

We own at Marriott Frenchman's Cove in St. Thomas and have been going there for years, but decided to use up some of our Marriott points and spent 10 days here in Feb 2016. The rooms and property were beyond what we expected! Absolutely stunning views, very secluded and wonderful food. I don't understand complaints about walking, but then, we like to get some exercise to work off those rum drinks (we're in our mid-50's, you have to work a bit harder to battle the bulge!). I also don't understand the complaint about keeping track of your towels - how hard is it to take your towel with you? This is a standard practice at resorts. The resort may not be to everyone's taste. If you want a lot of nightlife, this isn't for you. We get plenty of stimulation working in NYC and the laid-back tranquility of Scrub Island is heaven to us. Another huge plus are the DIVE BVI excursions. We went on 3 and they were wonderful. We went back to Frenchman's Cove in 2016 and did an excursion out to Virgin Gorda that was a huge let-down after the great experience with DIVE BVI. The one good part was that we stopped for lunch at Marina Cay, looking across at Scrub Island (and corrected the captain's statement that they don't accept Marriott points. We actually did an impromptu promotion for Scrub Island and we are not Marriott employees!). We were determined to go again on our next trip. We were absolutely delighted when we were able to book another 10 day trip for Feb 2017 and can't wait! The Marriott online reservation wouldn't let us book it, so we called the hotel directly and were put through to their reservation desk in Tampa, and spoke to Monique, who knew the property well, the room type and building I wanted and sounded almost as delighted as I was to make the booking! See you guys next Feb!

We're renting and sailing a large catamaran and, for most nights, we're happy to moor to a buoy or anchor. But we allow ourselves one day of luxury by mooring in a slip at the Scrub Island marina. They charge by the foot (about $3/ft), but it's still a great deal: we have access to the restrooms, showers, lower pool (with a slide for the children), upper pool where adults can wade up to the bar and sip our drinks while keeping an eye on on the kids below. There's a large hot tub and lounge chairs in and out of the sun. Below the pool deck is a small beach where guests can rent paddle boards and kayaks. They have a large, inflatable water trampoline which the grandchildren (and some of the grandparents) loved! We always dine at the open air restaurant which has an excellent, if somewhat limited, menu. If you like spicy food, the Chicken Roti is for you. The Fish and Chips were also great. The burgers were yummy, juicy and huge. It's a Marriott property, so expect the friendly, efficient service and amenities whether you boat in or reserve a room.
