Reviews for The Edgewater

No longer a destination! No Breakfast, are you serious?

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 8 hours ago

Places that you visit that are considered a destination require a combination of unique pieces. A raison d'etre so to speak. I would say that once upon a time the Edgewater hotel had that. Beautiful views with a scrumptious breakfast where you could enjoy the cascading dalliance of the first hints of sunlight dipping on the gossamer feathers of the heron in the distance. Now, now you get the standard hotel with no real reason to treat it as the adventure. Why would I come here to just sleep in the room and then have to go find breakfast in the city? I want a get away, not another stop. I have previously enjoyed eating here and staying here, but now I won't do either. A world class hotel has a first class breakfast, a destination hotel has a wonderful breakfast, a Holiday Inn has a breakfast. The Edgewater Motel, has... no breakfast. Give me a break, if you're cutting costs by removing breakfast service, get out of here. In conclusion, save yourself some time and rethink the destination. Bring back breakfast and Bring back the Super Sonics!

Best Waterfront Hotel in Seattle

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

This hotel has the absolute best waterfront location and its staff are top notch. The hotel’s location is walking distance to all attractions. Our junior suite was perfect for our celebration. Room was super clean and the fireplace was the perfect added touch. It would go on throughout the night as room temps dipped and made for a glorious glow. The balcony was well appointed with Adirondack chairs where you can have some wine while watching the ferry boats and skyline, especially the Ferris wheel when it is lit up at night. Restaurant food was delicious and the bar was always full with hotel guests and visitors because of its water view and great service and cocktails. The Edgewater is THE place to stay when you visit waterfront Seattle, nothing compares to it and it’s amazing staff.

The Edgewater Hotel Stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

My overall stay was neither good nor bad. I’m a wheelchair user, and the elevator was broken when we arrived, with no notification until the following day. A few staff members seemed more attentive to able‑bodied guests than to those of us with disabilities, which was disappointing. The only people who were genuinely helpful during my visit were my friend, the valet staff, and the gift shop staff. I paid for a balcony waterfront suite, which was beautiful, but the series of issues with the hotel and front desk staff made the experience far less enjoyable than it should have been.

Very clean. Seattle icon.

It was a pleasant stay for the most part. Only had one issue. The main door to the room stopped working on Sunday morning, so I had to go to the front desk and get a new key card. I tried to use the second keycard on the door and it didn’t work, either. They had to call someone to come up and access the door with the master keycard. The gentleman was able to open it with his key fob and stated that he would have to have someone from engineering come check the door. Also, I requested a late checkout for 1 pm, but a cleaning person was trying to enter my room at noon, which was horrible timing, so that was unpleasant.

We loved our stay. The view was just incredible! Spent so much time just relaxing at the windows. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again!
