About the Hotel

When the property now known as The Fairmont Olympic Hotel, Seattle debuted in the Roaring Twenties, it marked the arrival of the Pacific Northwest – until then, hotels of that caliber were found east of Chicago. It hosted countless galas, debutante balls and presidential visits – JFK stayed here in 1961 – and, in 1979, joined the ranks of the National Register of Historic Places. Italian Renaissance architecture and Old World style meld into a centrally located Seattle landmark that hosts a AAA Four Diamond Award-winning restaurant and one of the city's oldest oyster bars.

Reviews for The Fairmont Olympic Hotel, Seattle

Abysmal

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Front desk staff inept. Self park lot is disgusting. Wrong size beds in room we reserved. One person had to sleep in closet. Breakfast charged as lunch because it ended after lunch started each we stayed therefore adding significant extra charges. We had to fight for proper charges daily. Had better stays in holiday inns for 1/8 the price. Stay away!!!

The only plus was the location

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

We have stayed at many Fairmont hotels which are usually very nice. But this did not feel like the typical Fairmont hotel. It felt more like an old Marriott. The hotel rooms are old and dingy, the staff is unresponsive and rude and the food is not good. The only good thing was the location.

AI concierge was a nightmare

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

What used to be my go-to hotel in Seattle recently implemented Royal Service, an AI phone concierge. This made all communication a nightmare. Simple requests like “clean the room” “suitcases brought down” could not be comprehended. The subsequent request to talk to staff prompted a 15 minute wait. I had to eventually flag down a worker from housekeeping on my floor to make my request. That was a first. While the staff at the hotel were competent, this simple communication flaw frustrated the stay. Stay here if you have no plans to make contact with the staff after check in.

Billing errors destroy our experience.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Fairmont Olympic in Seattle doubled charged us on 44.20 on urban experience fee, 17.53 on refreshment. These changes came after we checked out and confirmed our zero balance. And then the Fairmont charged us $782.02 and $419.68 with no explanation. I spoke with Elizebeth in billing who said my prepayment was correct and the charges were most likely in error and would be removed. Now Amex is not removing the charges and Fairmont Olympic Seattle will not return my voicemail messages. What a nightmare. Hopefully someone besides AI can help us.
