About the Hotel

When the property now known as The Fairmont Olympic Hotel, Seattle debuted in the Roaring Twenties, it marked the arrival of the Pacific Northwest – until then, hotels of that caliber were found east of Chicago. It hosted countless galas, debutante balls and presidential visits – JFK stayed here in 1961 – and, in 1979, joined the ranks of the National Register of Historic Places. Italian Renaissance architecture and Old World style meld into a centrally located Seattle landmark that hosts a AAA Four Diamond Award-winning restaurant and one of the city's oldest oyster bars.

CAR DAMAGED IN VALET

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

HORRIFIED I am heartbroken. This used to be my favorite hotel, but after today I don’t know if I could ever come back. We trusted valet parking, which is supposed to be a secure garage, only to find our car broken into. The window was smashed, glass was everywhere, it smelled like cigarettes, and things were stolen. The worst part? My daughter’s car seat was covered in shattered glass. Now not only is this upsetting, but it’s going to disrupt my entire work week trying to deal with repairs, insurance, and replacing what was taken. I’m devastated and angry. A hotel like the Fairmont should never let something like this happen. I truly hope they take responsibility and make this right. We were driving home with the plastic on our windows and it blew off on the 520!

Beautiful Hotel, Great Staff, but a Broken Phone System Ruins the Stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

The building was beautiful, and the staff were great. I will not stay here again though simply due to the phone network. Every time you need to call another room (no the "dial 7 before the room number" does not work), the front desk, bell service, or room service, the phone routes to the 1-800 number of Fairmont, prompting the "digital assistant" to get you to the local hotel. Huge waste of time, every time.

Wonderful.

Conveniently located downtown this hotel is near many popular tourist attractions, it’s clean and the staff are very helpful. Staying at this historic property has been an absolute pleasure. Side note.. parking is a bit steep. 45 to 65 USD

Nice Stay at the Fairmont

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Our stay at the Fairmont Olympic was very good. Our room was very clean. We got a nice off season rate and for this reason, the value was exceptional. We booked this hotel because it is close to Pike Place Market. The location really can’t be beat. It is a short walk to the waterfront, restaurants and shopping. We had dinner at The George, which is a lovely dining room. The lobby bar is a gem and on Saturday night had a great buzzy feel. The staff we came in contact with were terrific. The pool area is nice and we enjoyed the hot tub and pool once a family with three young children left. They rather took over the pool, were noisy and inconsiderate of other guests. There wasn’t any staff around to monitor this. Perhaps it would be a good idea to have someone peeking in occasionally to assure pool rules are being followed and all guests are being respected. The hotel is very close to the Symphony rail station. We highly recommend using the rail to get to the airport instead of a cab. $3.00 pp versus $75.00 with tip and far less hassle. The rail is very clean and safe and takes about the same amount of time. You will have about a 10 minute walk to the terminal once you get off the rail. Nice stay at the Fairmont.

Excellent option in Seattle

Excellent location with impressive rooms and staff. We had a spacious suite on 9th floor. Gym is great with plenty of cardio options. A little light on strength training but awesome indoor pool. George restaurant was slow and food ok. Shuckers is excellent across the board
