Reviews for Inn at the Market

A Ritz-Carlton Experience for Fraction of the Price

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Location - 5/5 - Best in Seattle, especially for a first-time visitor. Atmosphere - 5/5 Perfect for couples Room - 5/5 - Every room is a dream Value - $$ - $$$ Higher end luxury feel for a lower price than other hotels; very satisfied with the pricing Cleanliness - 5/5 Top tier Noise Level 5/5- Surprisingly quiet considering the location, even on the city side! The only noise was spillover from the city, which is in no way a fault of the hotel, and is part of the charm of visiting a new location. Service - 5/5 Unmatched. Best service received at a hotel, ever. Amenities 4/5 - The courtyard was beautifully lit with a Christmas tree and decorations. The terrace overlooking Puget Sound was remarkable, though we visited in the height of November rain, so we wished to have more covered areas outside to sit and have coffee around the fire in the evening. Valet parking was simple. Door greeters were extremely attentive and kind. Staff were ready at a moment's notice for any request. It's the service you'd expect at the Ritz Carlton for a Boutique Hotel! === Review === - Booking - As a first-time traveler to Washington, it was difficult to determine which hotel would be best for our stay because there are so many recommended options in the city. When comparing prices between the Inn at the Market and many other top-listed hotels in the city, Inn at the Market provided higher value for the location and square footage. The website did not do justice to how much we enjoyed this hotel. When we return to Seattle, we will be staying here again. The website booking options leave some areas to be desired, but overall was an easy process. The main difference between this hotel's website and some other large-scale chains is that the Inn at the Market doesn't provide an opportunity for you to create an account per se, but instead you modify/cancel/update reservations based on a confirmation code. - Commute - We took the train from the SEA-TAC airport terminating a few blocks from the Inn. It was a lovely walk up to the Hotel. There are some concerns with accessibility only due to the steep incline of the general area of Pike Place, but the Inn appears to consider accessibility in their construction. This is also true for their valet service. - Reception - The staff were extremely friendly. Prior to arriving at the hotel, we received a call from someone working at the Inn at the Market to check in on the details of our upcoming stay, to answer any questions we may have, and to wish us safe travels. This was the moment we knew we picked the right hotel for our vacation. During our stay, our family had another room in the Inn and needed a crib for a 1.5 year old. I asked the front desk for a crib, but was told they didn't have them. Instead they had pack and plays. I wasn't sure what to expect, but they immediately had someone prepare and deliver one to our room. It was fully assembled with new bedding placed and was more than adequate size for the baby. It was sincerely appreciated! - Rooms - When reviewing rooms in the booking phase of our stay, I wasn't able to get a complete picture of what the rooms looked like. I was hopeful that there would be adequate space and a nice view for our stay. Although the water-facing room was a bit higher than our price range for this stay, the city room was absolutely amazing. We had a balcony sliding door to open in the mornings, letting in cool air and the sounds of the city waking up. The city side is just as lovely as the water side for a stay such as ours, especially considering how you are only paces away from being next to the water within minutes. The bedding was incredibly cozy, clean, and detail-oriented. A throw blanket as well as a bench at the end of our bed made it extremely convenient. Warm lighting next to both nightstands with plugs everywhere made it an accessible stay. The television allowed logins to streaming services, so we spent each night watching the Great British Bake Off while eating treats from Pike Place Market! The rooms were extremely clean. The bathrooms were furnished with two lighting types to allow a warmer, yellow-light as well as a brighter overhead. The shower in our room was without a door but instead had an extended pane of glass which was enjoyable. A special addition to the bathroom experience was finding two embroidered "Inn at the Market" robes freshly laundered and hung ready to be used. A refrigerator was installed in a drawer that mirrored the furniture, giving it a luxurious feel. Candies and some sodas and alcohol bottles were present in the drawers which is always an added bonus for us, as my partner experiences low blood sugars. Having a coke handy when we didn't plan for it ahead of time is always something I appreciate. The ice was in a unique location within the hotel, and it was a real treat. When stepping off the elevator you are greeted by a beautifully finished wooden credenza. The secret is that when you open the drawer it holds several prepared and sealed bags of ice ready for you to grab-n-go! Other notable mentions: closet space and shoe drawers upon entering the room; several overhead lighting options with dimming feature; writing desk; reading chair and lamp with coffee table feature. - Service - By far the most special surprise! Each evening we received a knock at our door a little after dinner. Not having expected anything because we didn't order room service, we were a little curious. When we opened the door we were greeted by a staff member with a glass liter of water with a bamboo-type lid and locally made bon-bon candies. The service was spectacular. - Lobby - The lobby was stunning and offered a sitting place for individuals needing to write, pull out their laptop, or just read the paper. A medium sized couch you could sink into, or cushioned seating along the window facing the courtyard. Coziest of all, a warm fireplace in the center. In summary, this hotel was the best I'd ever had the pleasure of booking. When we inevitably return to Seattle we will make a point to stay here again. A hotel can have all the amenities and be in the most desirable location, but it can all mean nothing without good, lovely staff.

Wonderful stay!

Very comfortable and cozy room, with wonderful view of the water. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Only complaint, which is very minor, was the lack of information about room service and checkout time. Couldn't find either one.

Perfect Pike Place Market Getaway

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Since we live on Bainbridge Island nearby, we love the Inn at the Market when we want to get an easy city getaway. The rooms are large, recently remodeled and super comfortable to lounge around when we're not exploring. The staff is also so friendly and kind. The proximity to the Pike Place Market is so fun to grab a coffee or meander in the morning before all the tourists show up. Central to shopping and the waterfront. SUCH a special hidden gem in the heart of Seattle. We can't wait to come back!

Many happy returns...

Even with beautiful renovations Inn at the Market still feels like home after too many visits to count. Warm, attentive staff, comfort and style, and location! Our two favorites this visit...dinner in our room with a view of the Sound after foraging for fruit from Pike Place Market, baguettes from Le Panier, cheese from DeLaurenti and wine from Pike & Western. And Cafe Campagne! Already booked our next visit.

We went to Seattle and stayed at the Inn at the Market in June and loved it. We had this wonderful big suite and the service was wonderful.

We had the fortunate blessing to be able to stay at the Inn at the Market in downtown Seattle in September, 2004. The staff was courteous, helpful and accommodating...The property was beautiful, scenic and strategically located right at Pike's Place Market - the Mecca of an amazing food experience. I would definitely return to the Inn at the Market yearly!

Our trip to Seattle was excellent. The Inn at the Market gave us a wonderful room, great service and the choice of two restaurants was an added bonus.

We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay at Inn at the Market. I can't say enough great things about the spacious room, perfect views, amenities, and art deco furnishings. The two things that won our hearts above all else was the service and the location. From the front desk staff to the bellhops and housekeeping, everyone was polite, professional and attentive.
