If you are traveling with young children or anyone with severe food allergies, I strongly advise against staying here. We paid a premium rate specifically to guarantee a noon early check-in, which our travel agent confirmed well in advance. Despite this, our room wasn't ready. A true five-star property would find a comfortable, private space for a nursing mother, but they offered zero accommodations, forcing my wife to breastfeed our 9-month-old in a rental car in the parking lot. To make matters worse, the front desk recorded both my phone number and email incorrectly, so they never even notified us when the room finally became available. When we eventually got in, the staff claimed the delay was due to a "thorough inspection." This was a lie. The sofa bed was unmade and missing a comforter—which they didn’t fix until after 9:30 PM—and the smoke detector had a low battery that went off in the middle of the night, terrifying our two-year-old and ruining our sleep. But the most unforgivable issue was their disregard for guest safety. The hotel left a "welcome amenity" of bread and granola bars in our room without ever inquiring about allergies. My two-year-old has severe, EpiPen-prescribed anaphylactic allergies to sesame, pistachios, cashews, and hazelnuts. The snacks they blindly left in our room contained these exact ingredients, introducing a life-threatening hazard into our space. For a property claiming five-star luxury status, the absolute lack of communication, unmaintained rooms, and reckless disregard for child safety are disgraceful. Save your money and look elsewhere.

The hotel itself isn’t bad but I ran into several issues with the room and dining. Shower never got above 100 Fahrenheit and for a luxury hotel that is extremely disappointing. On top of that I had to call maintenance twice because my door couldn’t properly lock. I ended up waking up in the morning realizing my door was left opened because the lock was not functioning properly. Not only was this unsafe but when brought up to management they apologized and gave me 5$ off my room for something that could have been a serious issue. Not to mention you could get better room service at a holiday inn, disappointing menu items and absolutely average food.

Recently discovered Drift, the hotel bar, as a local Seattleite and it has fast become a new favorite thanks to the incredible service of the wait staff we've had, Monika and Karol. Both Monika and Karol have been some of the best servers I've ever met, having traveled all over the world and visited many restaurant establishments. Not only has their service been professional, attentive, fast, and knowledgeable, but they have been exceptionally caring, and personable as individuals. They've made excellent recommendations regarding the menu and been able to answer questions with skill and grace. I will definitely keep coming as long as Monika and Karol are there.

This was our second stay at 1 Hotel Seattle and it did not disappoint. Gene and team have an incredibly high bar of service, and ensure every interaction - from housekeeping to room service - is of the highest caliper. The rooms themselves are well designed and extremely comfortable, with thoughtful details strewn throughout (water filter taps, bathrooms with a room divider, large desk). The hotel is centrally located, situated right above a Whole Foods, and in walking distance of most of Seattle's top sights. The gym of the hotel is well appointed, with free weights, cable machines, and ample space to move around. We always look forward to a visit to Seattle, and know we will always be taken care of at 1 Hotel. Thank you to Gene and team for all you do!
