Sedona Rouge Hotel & Spa in Sedona, Arizona

With the mystical rust-red rocks as a backdrop, elegant Sedona Rouge Hotel & Spa is at home in a contemporary adobe-style building. Completely devoid of kitschy clichés, interiors of this intimate boutique hotel pick up on the modern aspects of Southwestern design meshing it with traditional Moorish flair. A mod burbling fountain anchors the lobby while the courtyard is covered in green desert-hardy plants - an inviting pool at its center. The 72 guest rooms and suites are sleekly furnished following along the lines of the Spanish-Moroccan theme sporting splashes of eye-catching dark reds with luxurious bedding and private patios or balconies. Among the standard plush amenities are flat-screen televisions, complimentary wireless Internet, a petite fridge, and gourmet coffee service. The spacious bathrooms are kitted out with super soft cotton towels, large walk-in rain showers and dual showerheads.

Catch some rays while lingering in one of the chaises lining the deck around the heated pool and Jacuzzi. Looking to stay active? Join the al fresco chakra yoga class in the mornings. Or indulge in a visit to the resort's sizable spa where the earthy color palette mirrors Sedona's natural surroundings. The cutting edge wellness center features a Tranquility Room, steam rooms, and, in light of Sedona's famed vortex sites, intuitive services such as Tarot readings and spiritual acupuncture. Expert therapists administer detoxifying herbal wraps, invigorating scrubs or healing massages like myofascial bodywork and Hawaiian-inspired Lomi-Lomi. On balmy nights savor panoramic canyon views from around the fire pit on the hotel's rooftop terrace. Get there early to glimpse the dramatic color spectacle at sunset. Later, arrange for a table in the bamboo garden area at locally popular on-site REDS Restaurant & Bar where Executive Chef Ron Moler prepares upscale comfort food hailing from his native Tucson. Tuck into braised pork Kahrabi ribs with Burgundy fig risotto or butternut squash ravioli to the subdued sounds of live music on select evenings. Sedona Rouge Hotel & Spa defies the stereotypical rules of style for luxe desert dwelling like a trendsetting breath of fresh air with a comprehensive list of amenities to boot.

Sedona Rouge Hotel is a nice place to stay, centrally located near restaurants, supermarkets, cafes, etc. The rooms are comfortable, large shower, efficient service. Just be aware of the many fees attached to the quoted room rates.

We stayed at the hotel on our road trip for 4 nights and we had a great time! The rooms & service was great. The staff very friendly & helpful. They have a lot of great spots to hangout & enjoy the views. Reds restaurant is really good, we were pleasantly surprised with the choices on offer. Mark was awesome & always spot on with recommendations!!! They had free apps you could pick from the regular menu & really good breakfast. Great wine selection & knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend. Great location away from the crowded downtown but walking distance to a variety of restaurants, grocers & bike/atv rentals.

I stayed for one night (July 3rd) and had the most wonderful experience! This was the last night of my solo road trip and the service, kindness, delicious food and impeccable accommodation was exactly what my soul needed! The grounds are stunning and offer beautiful vistas of the red rocks. The drive to Sedona Rouge was fairy-book picturesque and I felt like royalty upon arrival! I loved the place (and Reds) so much, though, for the wonderful staff. I wrote down the names of everyone who helped make my holiday shine so here goes! Thank you to the hostess at Reds named Olivia, Jerry who brought me water and conversation, Angela who gave me great company, Lacy who was a fabulous server and pool beverage helper (and on her first day too- never would have known!), Scott the amazing server who took time to make excellent recommendations, Steven and Matthew at the front desk who added that extra memorable touch, the two chefs who served me the best scallops I've ever had (and I had eaten Gordon Ramsay scallops a few days before!) and while I don't recall her name, the food porter girl was lovely as well. Top notch hotel and all travelling through Sedona just stay here! Thank you everyone!

Lovely, big room, very clean and tidy - couldn't fault it. We had a little patio with our own gate to the pool (although it was raining and we didn't go in the pool). Had everything we needed (wifi, safe). Location good, next to the Coffee Pot (which you should visit for breakfast) and to a Safeway store. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at Sedona Rouge for a week while on vacation and it was very nice. The hotel was full when we checked in on a Saturday and the room we got was overlooking the rooftop terrace. On Sunday the staff was very accommodating when we asked for a better view with a little more privacy. Room 333 was available and it was great. We had a beautiful view of the mountains. We had a very spacious room with a fireplace, king size bed, small refrigerator and huge shower. Our friends booked a room in the spa which was a smaller room due to having a huge bathtub in it. The view from the tub was of the mountains so that is nice if you like to soak in the tub. They did not have a fireplace and their shower seemed smaller. The hotel has 2 lounging areas, aside from the pool and rooftop terrace and both are very nice for relaxing. We had dinner in the restaurant one night and everything was delicious. It was a little pricey but I find that standard for hotel restaurants. We enjoyed massages and body wraps at the spa. The staff was delightful the service was fine. I am a little spoiled by larger facilities with more amenities but this was still relaxing. The only slight negative for me is that the mattresses are firm and I prefer a very soft mattress. The location is wonderful because you are close to everything without being in the center of Uptown.
