The Wilde Resort and Spa

Beautiful, clean resort with a modern relaxing vibe. We enjoyed our time there and wish we had gone there sooner. The massage was amazing and breakfast in Rascal was amazing.

The day we arrived was great until that evening. We could do nothing to escape the extremely loud music and base from the wedding on the roof that we were not part of. After complaining to the front desk, we were told "it will end at 10pm." That was not good for those of us who traveled long ways and wanted to sleep earlier than 10pm. The mini split AC blew directly on the king bed, making it hard for those of us suffering from dry eyes. Refund of resort fees was done, but it was not enough. We should have received a greatly reduced rate for the night of the wedding.

Some fine details about this resort, NOTE this resort is off a main road and can be noisy due to traffic (which always seems heavy in Sedona) and due to resort design that is open in the middle. Had some company people and a wedding and they made a lot of noise until 12 (midnight) and staff didnt care and or guests either that they maybe loud for others to sleep. Is was our wedding anniversary and we got a small bottle of Procecco and some Lindt candies out of a bag 3 of them to be exact, not what to expect with a resort and what you are paying for. NOTE a $36 a night resort fee that they DO NOT advertise along with occupancy tax, city and state tax and then destination taxes again and this resort is way too expensive for what it is. Not clean, equipment broken (ice machines, steam room in spa, elevator, doors to bathrooms, areas just not kept up at all or cleaned. The wait staff at resort restaurant terrible (Rascal) food good which is a shame but staff terrible, even had our waiter, instead of getting me my food, go into the parking lot to look at a motorcycle of another guest and stay out there for a little time?!?!?! And staff there does NOT seem to care, lobby set away from guests so that there is NO interaction at all as you come and go, seems like a take care of yourself feel to this hotel. The rooms are nice, fireplace rooms are ok fireplaces very dated, and NOTE balconies have no furniture and are so angled that you cannot hardly even stand out there to look at the amazing view that you are paying for. Spa nice but very very small, gets crowed and does NOT have a lot of amentities. Main pool is very small as well, the design and some of the design features are great and every nice, I guess that is what you are paying for. Marketing for this resort is great, and really got us. Our recommendation if you want to pay a high price anywhere from $550-$900 a night for low quality items and service this place is for you. Much better to stay at a Hilton, Marriott, Best Western, I would give this hotel a 2 star rating, it is close to uptown Sedona area with shopping and restaurants, BUT NOTE, restaurants close early 7 and 8pm and some thing s open up late, not sure if due to season and if when we went or not. Better restaurants all need a reservation so be warned and prepared!

Overall the resort offers excellent amenities and programs. The on site restaurant is first class. I rated them only as average, however, because despite prepaying for the full stay via the group I was with, the resort charged my credit card for the first night. This happened to most of us in the group and we were told it 'was a glitch'. As of a week later, this still had not been resolved.
