Later, arrange for a table in the bamboo garden area at locally popular on-site REDS Restaurant & Bar where Executive Chef Ron Moler prepares upscale comfort food hailing from his native Tucson. Definitely NOT a Spa DATED & WORN OUT! A/C did not work 2 Nights and was passed over as OK by maintenance.. Beds were good but linens were old and dingy. Great shower, with very little bathroom amenities. "Featured Rooftop Overlook"... looked like a storage space. Lounge Chairs around pool were covered with plastic. DO NOT EAT in REDS Restaurant. Just sub par bar food

The room was great and very cozy feeling, we very surprised to have fresh chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of Champagne sitting in our room. The restaurant Reds located in the hotel was hands down excellent food. The service was great and the restaurant manager came and visited with us, he was a nice guy to talk with. We enjoyed a excellent fresh peach cobbler topped with homemade Vanilla ice cream with hand picked peaches from the chefs personal peach tree, very outstanding ! We cant wait to come back with the kids next time for a family vacation. I give the Sedona Rouge a 10 out of 10. The Davidsons.

We have been travelling to Sedona Rouge for years. The staff is very friendly. Reds Restaurant is top notch. The beds are so comfortable that we bought a bed just like it for our home. The property is within walking distance to other restaurants. We highly recommend Sedona Rouge.

Underwhelming amenities within the room-- if you are expecting a room that resembles the photos shown on TripAdvisor, be sure to specifically request one of the "updated" rooms. ALSO, be aware there is a $25/person per night fee for any guests over two people, no matter what type of room you are staying in. On top of that, add another $25 resort fee per night. Had I known I would end up paying $275 for a one night stay in the hotel room that was assigned to me, I would have looked elsewhere.

My wife, two kids, and I stayed here July 11,12, and 13th. It was absolutely perfect for us, and lived up to all of the reviews here on tripadvisor (the good ones, anyway). Here are the highlights. First, a note about kids. We had our 8 and 10 year-old kids with us. Our kids are good travelers and know their manners. Yes they like to laugh and have fun, but they also knew that they were staying in a resort that is aimed at being a peaceful retreat. So we laughed and played at the pool but we didn't stomp and yell in the hallways. If your kids have that vibe, then this is a great place to bring them! At the same time I can imagine coming here for an anniversary getaway and being dismayed if there were a bunch of unsupervised children running roughshod. The balance was perfect for us. The room. We had a 2-queen room in the new back building (Room 403), it was gorgeous. All new high-end furniture and finishes, enormous bathroom, and a walk-out patio with lounge chairs facing the mountains, fire pits, and common area. The bed was pure luxury. Funky decor. Excellent. Pool/jacuzzi. The swimming pool area is not huge, but that's because the property is not huge; you don't need a Holiday Inn-sized pool if you're not at the Holiday Inn. The pool area is just the right size, it's clean and well-maintained, plenty of chairs and umbrellas, towel and water service, et cetera. Finally, here is my overall characterization of where this place fits on the spectrum of hotels and resorts in and around Sedona. It is a perfect fit if you appreciate luxury but don't need to spend $600 per night to prove it. The Sedona Rouge is located less than 5 minutes from either Uptown or from Tlaquepaque. Its "neighborhood" is commercial--it's on a 4-lane divided highway, with a Safeway, CVS, Wells Fargo, et cetera located along the same stretch of road. But you would never know that when you are on the property--I never heard so much as a car horn while we were there. It's set back and well-landscaped. We had been there two full days before we even realized there was a grocery store next door. And there are some great restaurants nearby, as well as the airport mesa road up to the sunset lookout point. So, you are not staying downtown, and you aren't staying off in some isolated private canyon, but you're only a few minutes from both and the property itself is as good as you would find in either of those two places. Believe what you read in the reviews of this place, and ignore the one or two outliers. I always get a laugh out of some of the negative reviews people leave on tripadvisor. Newsflash: sometimes things don't go the way you want, and sometimes people have bad days or make mistakes. I would gladly choose to work through a problem (had one come up) with an independently-owned resort run by human beings, rather than with some huge corporation!
