Sedona Rouge Hotel & Spa in Sedona, Arizona

With the mystical rust-red rocks as a backdrop, elegant Sedona Rouge Hotel & Spa is at home in a contemporary adobe-style building. Completely devoid of kitschy clichés, interiors of this intimate boutique hotel pick up on the modern aspects of Southwestern design meshing it with traditional Moorish flair. A mod burbling fountain anchors the lobby while the courtyard is covered in green desert-hardy plants - an inviting pool at its center. The 72 guest rooms and suites are sleekly furnished following along the lines of the Spanish-Moroccan theme sporting splashes of eye-catching dark reds with luxurious bedding and private patios or balconies. Among the standard plush amenities are flat-screen televisions, complimentary wireless Internet, a petite fridge, and gourmet coffee service. The spacious bathrooms are kitted out with super soft cotton towels, large walk-in rain showers and dual showerheads.

Or indulge in a visit to the resort's sizable spa where the earthy color palette mirrors Sedona's natural surroundings. The cutting edge wellness center features a Tranquility Room, steam rooms, and, in light of Sedona's famed vortex sites, intuitive services such as Tarot readings and spiritual acupuncture. Expert therapists administer detoxifying herbal wraps, invigorating scrubs or healing massages like myofascial bodywork and Hawaiian-inspired Lomi-Lomi. On balmy nights savor panoramic canyon views from around the fire pit on the hotel's rooftop terrace. Get there early to glimpse the dramatic color spectacle at sunset. Later, arrange for a table in the bamboo garden area at locally popular on-site REDS Restaurant & Bar where Executive Chef Ron Moler prepares upscale comfort food hailing from his native Tucson. Tuck into braised pork Kahrabi ribs with Burgundy fig risotto or butternut squash ravioli to the subdued sounds of live music on select evenings. Sedona Rouge Hotel & Spa defies the stereotypical rules of style for luxe desert dwelling like a trendsetting breath of fresh air with a comprehensive list of amenities to boot.

A very disappointing visit to this overpriced motel masquerading as a boutique hotel. Towels and bed linen were old and worn. Our room which apparently was deluxe had a side view of nothing much and was dark and gloomy. The carpet was not seemingly cleaned during our stay. The swimming pool was full of leaves and was not at all inviting. The mattresses on the sunbeds were so worn they were stained with all the previous occupants' body secretions. The toilets located closet to Reds restaurant were not cleaned over 2 days, the toilet bowls were dirty and the bins not emptied. Not somewhere you will want to stay if you have even moderate standards of personal hygiene

My hubby and I celebrates 5 years here. Great service, BEAUTIFUL rooms (and I mean gorgeous) fun, outdoorsy activities around and free delicious breakfast and appetizers every day. can't beat that! I would totally come again. the housekeepers had our room spotless every time we left (how do they,do that?). the pool was a perfect retreat from the desert heat.

My wife and I have been to Sedona numerous times but this was our fist stay at the Sedona Rouge. I am constantly amazed at some of the negative reviews. We booked through Expedia and were told upfront there would be a deposit of $50 for our dog. No problem. The hotel is great for pets. We had a very nice room on the first floor in back. It had a great shower, comfortable bed, and a door to a patio. There is a large lawn with pet poop bags and disposal, and two fire pits. The service was excellent. We had a problem with the remote at syncing to to monitor. After we called the front desk it took 5 minutes for maintenance to come and explain the system. Red restaurant was great. Breakfast was comped with my registration through Expedia. Dinner was very good and reasonable for the quality. Service is not rushed but leisurely. We ate there two nights. They had a new wine that they let us try before ordering which was excellent . The manager came over to ask our opinion of the whole experience and discussed why he chose the wine. There's also a great wood fired pizza place across the street. This was a perfect West Sedona location with easy parking, great service and food, and an excellent room. We'll be back!

We were staying in the "Spa" building with private Jacuzzi etc. After being out all day on Saturday June 17th, we returned at 4PM to find the room uncleaned with wet towels still by the Jacuzzi and shower . A desk clerk said rooms were normally cleaned between 4-5 PM but no housekeeper ever showed up. The Hotel manager was on vacation that weekend and the supervisor accomplished nothing. Sunday morning after a call to the desk and a trip to the desk . coffee and water replacements were eventually brought to the room but no one ever showed up to take wet towels etc. Apparently the hotel is privately owned and the staff refused to provide any way to contact the ownership.

Nice rooms that were kept clean. Lots of towels, nice robes, great location. They have a nice spa and a great outdoor pool. The cleaning crew did a nice job and you received vex 2 bottles of water daily.
