Reviews for Capella Singapore

Favourite hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

We always enjoy the personal touches laid out with the turn down services. We enjoy the breakfast immensely (miss having the peacocks around but understand that could be for hygiene reasons). We return year after year because the Capella is tranquil, pristine & the no other hotel offers the afternoon high tea which we always utilise if we are having a day by the pool. Fantastic facilities, service and friendly/attentive staff. Definitely going back again.

Moon Ritual Spa

Had a lovely 3 hour moon ritual treatment with Wai Mun. She was friendly, knowledgeable about my skin concerns and gave an amazing massage. The spa has really nice facilities to use before and after your treatment. I felt so relaxed and my skin was glowing.

Amazing Staff! Can't Wait to Return.

TL;DR - Capella's staff are all amazing. Their service is exquisite. - You must try 'The Morning at the Wet Market' experience if possible. Morning at Tiong Bahru with Kennis and Chef James, and Chef's Table with Chef Eric was the highlight of our stay. After having heard and read about Capella since years ago, we had very high expectations when we arrived at Capella for a 2 nights stay. Capella's exquisite service started from the moment we checked in. We booked our room through American Express, and when we arrived, the staff notified us that an upgrade would be available if we were okay with a King bed rather than the two double bed we had originally requested. Since an upgrade meant a villa, we did agree to a king bed. We expected to be shown to the lounge while housekeeping put their finishing touches on the villa, but Shawn, culturist suggested we relax in the original room we had booked, which was very generous of the hotel. The villa we checked in had slight issues, and when we mentioned this to SHAWN, he quickly resolved the issue by moving us to a new villa. The staff even moved all our stuff for us, including loose items (there was a bit of miscommunication regarding this, but ROMAN the manager and KAUNG SET the culturist swiftly resolved everything). We spent our second day relaxing in the resort, and enjoying the spa. If you go to Capella, the Auriga Spa is a must! I had the 90 minute Senja Sunyi with WAI MUN, and she was amazing! Senja Sunyi is a deep tissue massage combined with round hot stone massages. Wai Mun was so great that I made another appointment with her for my mom for the day after. Afterwards, while relaxing in the room, we ordered some fruit platter. We requested as much tropical fruits as possible. SHAFIQ from the room service team not only managed to get us quite a lot of mangosteen, but he remembered us the next time he came to serve us our meal, which made us feel very welcomed. For dinner, we went to Cassia. If you every stay at the Capella, you MUST have the Peking Duck at Cassia. We had half a Peking Duck, hot and sour soup, spinach and egg white dish. My father is a fan of Peking Duck, so we try to get it whenever we're in an area famous for it. But Cassia's Peking Duck I think was the best I've ever had. period. I'm just sad we didn't get to check out the dim sum menus for lunch. The next morning, we had the Morning at the Wet Market activity booked. KENNIS the culturist met us at the lobby at 8:30am to bring us to Tiong Bahru market. When we arrived at the market, we went up to the second floor for breakfast. Kennis asked us what we'd like to have, and after walking around the stalls for a bit, we had some chee cheong fun, kueh, fishball soup. For the activity, Kennis had all the Singaporean dollars we needed already prepared, and paid for the food--which made it so convenient. Chef JAMES LIM joined us while we were having breakfast, and brought us some kaya toast and coffee which was great. After breakfast, we headed downstairs to the wet market (which is not so wet and definitely the cleanest 'market' I've every seen). Chef James asked us what we'd like for lunch, and we told him we'd like more seafood than meat dishes. We picked out some stingray, tofu, veggies, etc and headed back to the hotel. At the hotel, we relaxed at the Living Room, and our villa for about an hour and a half before heading to the Chef's Table where Kennis, Chef James and Chef ERIC NEO (Capella's own celebrity chef!) were waiting for us. We had the option of participating in the cooking, but decided that the meal would taste much better with the two talented chefs cooking for us. Chef Eric and Chef James made Tahu Goreng, a Celtuce dish, Yong Tau Foo Soup, Sambal Stingray, Sotong and Prawns, and Chendol for dessert. Every single dish was amazing. I wish I had a bigger stomach. ROBIN the f&b manager also stopped by during our meal for a short but friendly chat. Afterwards, after relaxing for a bit, we had our second visit to the spa which was again, amazing. When we got back to the villa, there was a sweet note from Kennis along with framed photos of our morning. Kennis, by the way, not only is super friendly and great to talk to, but takes amazing photos. The Capella grounds itself feels like a world away from the hustle and bustle of Singapore. It feels like a tropical oasis, something akin to Bali. However, it was the extraordinary level of service provided by the staff that made it out of this world. A special thank you to Shawn for being such a gracious host from check in to check out. And also to Kennis, Chef James and Chef Eric for the awesome conversation, amazing meal, and mostly for such a memorable morning. Hope to see you all again soon! :)

Lunch time at the Capella

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Lovely lunch and afternoon at the Capella. Would especially like to thank Marie Pusung for her excellent service. The very best. Looked after the two of us, opening a room for us when it rained and there was a private function in the bar. I thoroughly recommend the Capella, a wonderful venue.

Beyond superb!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

The stay was extraordinary the moment we arrive, till the moment we left. We have always wanted to stay at Capella but never had a chance, and since it is the March holiday, we brought the kids. Check in was by Camden, he was very professional and even drove us to our villa. The kids were wow by the comfortable and spacious living room, and of course the plunge pool that we have. Breakfast is also great and the options of the food was just right. But I feel that the staff can be alittle proactive to introduce us on how to order, since it’s our first time. The gentlemen at the team were so sweet and caring, and they approach us to check on us and even brought ice cream and slushees for the kids. It’s a kids heaven! We met Kaung Set during the stay also, one of the manager. He was so polite that he walked us from our villa to the breakfast place. We also met Jia Ming and he also walked us to the activity room, which was very well hidden. Kennis and Jerolyn were also very sweet when she interacted with the kids for the boba making. Overall, we’re super happy and look forward to our next stay!
