About the Hotel

Located in Seville’s historic center, Hotel Inglaterra is connected to popular downtown streets off the Plaza Nueva. Part of the Lifestyle collection of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, it maintains a harmonious mix of its nearly 160-year-old history with gorgeously restored antiques, English-style furniture, and original engravings from Europe and Asia. This elegant estate is centrally located near landmarks such as the Cathedral with Giralda Tower, the General Archive of the Indies, and the Alcázar Palace. That means views from the seasonal rooftop terrace are sublime – no better place to enjoy Manuel Cuenca’s Manilva, a dry cocktail that scored the industry’s top honor.

Wonderful choice in Sevilla

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

We were delighted with everything about this hotel. It's old (goes back to 1857) in a good way; the traditional styling is kept immaculately and modernized in all respects. Lovely comfy beds. Good restaurants and bars, including a rooftop terrace for creative tapas and other eats, well-made drinks, and a lovely view. Good indoor breakfast buffet, too. The staff was capable, eager to help, and exceptionally welcoming. The Inglaterra's location at Plaza Nueva is close to the remarkable cathedral and other local attractions. It's also right on one end of the city tram line. Bank with ATM just steps down the street. Sevilla may have some flashier hotels in this price range, but we can't imagine any place more pleasant. We'll be back.

Good hotel, poor breakfast in cramped breakfast room

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

This is a good hotel in a good location Our room on the 5th floor was spacious, traditional with a terrace looking towards the cathedral, marvellous. The reception was good, the housekeeping good Fabulous rooftop bar/restaurant with good service and great views What was surprising in such an otherwise exceptional hotel was the poor quality of the breakfast and the breakfast room. It was crowded with little space to move. Coffee/tea were self-service requiring further queuing. It was a challenge to order cooked eggs. Plus a queue at the toaster. No Breakfast Tea, poor quality yogurts, poor fruit selection, basic cold meats and cheeses What’s gone wrong?

Lovely hotel in a great location

Lovely hotel. We stayed for three nights as part of a 'city break'. Hotel staff were very pleasant and knowledgeable with enough of a command of English to help us find our way around (it makes us feel happy and 'properly abroad' when they don't talk fluent English!). We had room 411. An average sized room but nicely decorated with the hotel's logo embossed on the furniture and linen. Unfortunately two single beds rather than a preferred double, so would suggest requesting what you want at the time of booking. The room was at the side of the hotel, so no noise (it was Saville's fiesta time, so lot's going on at all hours). The air-conditioning worked fine and was quiet (I only mention it as some other reviewers had issues). A TV with a selection of European channels, plenty of sockets and USB charging points under the bedside lamps were helpful. The hotel has a nice roof-top restaurant and bar with fantastic views across the city. We didn't eat there but had drinks each evening, which were competitively priced. We used the Salon for breakfast. A little cramped, but a good selection of cooked food, pastries, cold meats and the like. There is also the Gallery on the first floor which is a seating area with complementary tea, coffee, water and biscuits. A nice area to sit before/after a trip or while waiting for a cab (we couldn't do a late check out because the hotel was full, but they looked after our cases and we could sit in this area while waiting for our car). There is also a restaurant on the ground floor. We didn't use it but the prices looked very competitive. Many of the tourist sites, and many, many bars and restaurants, are within walking distance but there is also a tram stop outside the hotel which can take you over to the San Bernado train station which is ideally situated for Plaza De Espania. I would highly recommend the hotel for a short trip to Seville.

Best location in Seville

Excellent hotel in an excellent location.Valet parking takes the stress out of trying to park in the narrow streets. Good breakfast. The Deluxe room was huge - would be called a suite in many hotels. The rooftop terrace provides an outstanding panorama over the cathedral and Seville. Staff were absolutely amazing. Everything in Seville - the tram - the tapas - the main sights are at your doorstep. Located on the Plaza Nueva which is a tree lined square filled with cafes and restaurants

No cooling, hot room

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We visited this place during a trip around Andalusia. The hotel has a traditional and nice style. The service is friendly and professional, the rooms are clean. The reason why we only gave a rating of 3 is because the room was so hot that to sleep was not possible. In the confirmed reservation they write there is an air condition in the room. The might be partly correct during winter. In reality they have a central ventilation with heating. But there is no cooling capability. We visited Sevilla in March and the weather was unusually warm. We got 26 and 27 Celsius. And so was the room. Opening the window was not an option because most rooms go to the Plaza Nuova which is very, very noisy during the night. In a meeting in the lobby they promised to fix the cooling the other day. Not true. They send us a bottle of champaign as exciuse, which we did not touch. And finally it turned out, they can't fix the issue because there is no cooling in the system. So the confirmation promised more than the reality delivered. After three nights we decided to leave the hotel early. At least we did not have to pay for the fourth night.
