Gran Melia Colon

We had 4 wonderful nights at Hotel Colon as we explored Sevilla. Right from the moment we arrived at the front door the experience was amazing. Maria at the reception desk was delightful as she welcomed us with a drink, a seamless check in process and great explanations of both the hotel and local area. Then there was Christiann at the Bar - what a champion - made us feel welcome and looked after us line we were guests in his home. Rosana on the Concierge desk was equally as helpful and delightful - booking a couple of great experiences for us quickly and easily. Eva at breakfast was also fantastic. The hotel was lovely and very well located - we highly recommend it.

In old town, next to great restaurants in the area and a carefour express. We utilized the Chase Edit benefit and had $100 towards the bar and lunch at the main restaurant. They have limited vegetarian options in their restaurant but they did make accommodations for us which was nice. The breakfast was a decent spread and they made hot coffee and made to order omelette every morning. The service at the lobby bar was exceptional. The only reason things a 4 star is because of the servers, housekeeping and the outstanding bartender. We had a early morning train to Barcelona so our request for picnic breakfast was fulfilled( the only downside was they forgot we are vegetarian and gave us ham sandwiches and our coffee was cold ) , 100 percent credit for effort. With Edit by Chase we were told we had a room upgrade ( I didn’t understand what the upgrade was , we didn’t notice it ). Our breakfast was included with edit perk. Lastly, our checkout experience took longer than expected as they couldn’t understand that we had prepaid the whole stay with points. They took time and finally figured it out but that took away 45 mins of our evening! The software should be upgraded as the staff had a hard time locating every thing.

We stayed in the connecting family suite, which was the main reason we booked this hotel, along with its wonderful location. The suite was a great setup for our family, and the beds were very comfortable. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. They even brought a special treat for my children when we arrived, which was such a thoughtful touch. Because this is an older hotel, the rooms are quite dark, which may not appeal to everyone. We also had young adults staying across the hall from us who repeatedly slammed their doors throughout the night, which kept me awake for much of the night. The hotel should consider installing something to make the doors close more softly and quietly. The rooftop pool was a wonderful perk and a beautiful feature of the hotel, although it wasn't especially well suited for my kids. Overall, we really appreciated the location, family suite, comfortable beds, and especially the friendly staff.

Stayed at the hotel last weekend for 3 nights on my first but certainly not last visit to Seville. I can't recommend this hotel enough to anyone contemplating going. The staff were so welcoming and kind and went out of their way to make sure i stay was perfect. It was my Girlfriend's birthday the day before we flew and as a surprise the hotel kindly delivered to our room a bottle of champagne and a cake free of charge. The hotel was spotless as was our room. We will certainly be returning and have already recommended the hotel to friends and family. Thank you once again to all that made our stay special.

The room at Hotel Colón Gran Meliá was beautiful, comfortable, and exactly what we expected from a hotel of this caliber. Unfortunately, the service did not live up to the same standard. On two separate mornings, we were not properly attended to at breakfast. Despite breakfast being included with our room, the service was so disappointing that we ultimately chose to leave the hotel and have breakfast elsewhere. Our arrival experience was also disappointing. During check-in, we felt there was an excessive focus on upselling us throughout the registration process. Once we declined the room upgrade, the warmth and attentiveness seemed to disappear, which made us feel less valued as guests. For a luxury five-star property, I expected a much higher level of hospitality, especially when it comes to making guests feel welcomed and cared for. The room was wonderful, but unfortunately, the overall service experience fell well below our expectations.
