Gran Melia Colon

This hotel was simply perfect. It is beautiful. The decor is spectacular and has items from bull fights and flamenco dancing displayed in the common areas. The bar still has the same roaring 1920s feel from when it was built in the 1920s. We were greeted at check in with a glass of champagne! Everyone on staff was so friendly, including the check in desk, concierges, restaurant staff and cleaners. We were especially impressed with Isabelle, Rosana, Oscar and Asiel. The rooms were lovely and we had plenty of space to spread out. Each room’s door is individually painted to look like paintings by famous Spanish artists. It is such a cool and clever idea. The hotel rooms are quiet. We didn’t hear our neighbors through the walls or noise from the street. The hotel was within a 20 min walk from most of the tourist destinations in Seville, which was perfect for us. We could get our exercise and pick up coffee on the way to our tours.

Apone arrival at the hotel, it looked great and some great history on the walls, greeted by the consierge team. Once at the front desk, Luca helped us checkin and aperantly pretended that we wer getting a room with a city view, and kept saying we are sold out thats the best we have in your category wich all melias are starting to use the same line. We go up to the room and open the curtians and am facing a wall and an apartment. I called down and mention to Luca I am facing a wall. His response oh sorry I have another room being cleaned, once available he will call us, and asked us to stay in the room meanwhile. Waited in the room for 45 min and called him back and asked how much longer? Then he changed the story and said oh we can not find the guest staying in that room and nothing will be available till late tonight. I replied you said room is being cleaned and now you are say it is occupied? Then he went to say i have suit available if you want to pay more. As I was getting of the phone, I made a comment to my wife that I will speak to the mager later. Suddenly in 30 seconds he called back and said oh i have a room with 2 twin beds i can offer you. once in the room with wabelly beds. Yet I was too tired from being up for alomst 24 hrs. Did not like the experiance at all. The hotel is nice but for a 5 star is out dated and need some update for 550 euros a night need to have nicer rooms, furniture is outdated, old carpets and grouts missing on the bathroom tiles. The first room i had had crums on the floor and the 2nd room same thing also on the chair. The Amenities provided are great. The restaurant for breakfast was great all staff were very attentive and very good selction of food. I belive is Alona, Eva were very pleasent. El Burladero restaurant in the hotel is very nice if you sit in the bright rooms in the back. As hotel was full and we usually tend to eat around 7 pm Jose Luise was kind enough to accomodate us as every thing was reserved for the Bull fighting weeekend. Jose and his team are great i think we had Juaquin that served us, but really everyone was very pleasent. Over all it was a good stay .

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. It's centrally located and within walking distance of most of the tourist attractions. The service here is impeccable! Right from checking in with Paula, being helped by Vanessa to switch rooms and the Concierges Ana and Oscar, everyone was wonderful! The breakfast buffet at the Grand Cafe was top notch and the wait staff there and at the bar was extremely attentive and gracious. Highly recommend this hotel! Customer service should be this good everywhere!

The GThe Gran Melía was one of our favorite places. We stayed in the junior suite. The hotel staff was so nice—they brought champagne and treats for my birthday. We enjoyed the breakfast, and the Level Lounge offerings were a nice addition. It’s situated in a great location that is within walking distance of every place we wanted to visit.

We had 4 wonderful nights at Hotel Colon as we explored Sevilla. Right from the moment we arrived at the front door the experience was amazing. Maria at the reception desk was delightful as she welcomed us with a drink, a seamless check in process and great explanations of both the hotel and local area. Then there was Christiann at the Bar - what a champion - made us feel welcome and looked after us line we were guests in his home. Rosana on the Concierge desk was equally as helpful and delightful - booking a couple of great experiences for us quickly and easily. Eva at breakfast was also fantastic. The hotel was lovely and very well located - we highly recommend it.
