Reviews for Four Seasons Hotel Shanghai
From the moment you check in this hotel is very welcoming. Hotel Manager Budi is a delightful man who treats everyone like they are special. Location has good access to Metro as well as good restaurants. Well worth staying here.

It's been several years since I stayed at this hotel. It was a very satisfying experience and wanted to enjoy it again. It did not fail us, The service from the door to the room and restaurants were excellent. It is a much more convenient place now that there is a subway a few minutes walk from the hotel. The Concierge is friendly and very helpful to show us how to use the subway and how to get to various places of interest. The room decor is a little dated compared with newer 5-star hotels but they are very clean, large and comfortable. The Japanese buffet dinner is still very reasonable but don't expect top quality cuisines. There are many eateries and breakfast places in the vicinity. Starbucks is across the road if you need a coffee fix and a quick breakfast. Definitely will return on the next trip.

Fantastic hotel, good location (about 15-20 min walk to Nanjing Rd E pedestrian rd and another 10 min to BUND). Staff is very attentive, excellent wifi, breakfast, gym. Hotel has iron, hair dryer and good menu for room service. Turn left on Shimen Rd and first main intersection is Nanjing Rd. Turn right and walk straight to People's square and pedestrian street that leads to BUND. If you turn left, there are several coffee shops, restaurants/food options, bakeries and line 2 entrance. Hotel is across street from a shopping centre and Starbucks

Stayed at the Four Seasons Shanghai and it was the best stay I've had yet in Shanghai, having stayed at numerous hotels. Check-in was efficient; room was comfortable; in-room dining and housekeeping was attentive; gym was adequate (and open 24 hours); pool was actually bigger than it seemed through online pictures (a rare treat as it's usually the other way around!); and the location was solid. Bathroom amenities were L'Occitane which is solid, albeit a bit perfumey. Staff was incredibly attentive and considerate, best I've experienced in Shanghai. My only complaints were threefold: 1) the lobby bar is kind of daggy and needs an upgrade, and the pours on the scotch were really weak (I said something to the bartender, who offered to fix this the following night but I couldn't take him up on the offer). 2) the breakfast buffet was oversubscribed at times and one had to wait to even get a table. This is ridiculous, and they need to use the outside bar area for overflow. 3) Checkout was incredibly slow and inefficient, this was the real let-down in the whole experience. They need to have more staff available for morning checkouts, it's just not reasonable to miss this. Overall a good experience and I would consider coming back.

Stayed with the wife from 28/11 till 1/12. We got a room on the 32nd floor (3212) with views of the many tall towers surrounding the Bund. And what a room! Spacious, modern, tasteful...we immediately fell in love with it. This, in all honesty is one of the best hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in. And then there were the excellent Concierge staff, (Casa Chen especially, and also Clark Xiong) with whom I communicated with even before arriving in Shanghai. They were quick to respond with an attention to detail unmatched by any other hotel I’ve experienced. The location of the hotel is excellent. It’s in the heart of the new shopping district, with everything from Audemars Piguet to Uniqlo within walking distance. Plenty of convenience stores in the neighborhood too. The Bund is a few kilometers away, approximately 20 Yuan by taxi. Finally, the soul of every Four Seasons...the doormen. The good chaps who never fail to welcome you home. And this 4S has probably the best of them all. Michael is his name, a kind and gentle fatherly figure who was quick to smile, run out in the cold to hail taxis, and again, bow deeply and smile when we returned to the hotel. What an asset to this 4S property, we would gladly return to Shanghai just to meet him! All in all, a solid hotel in a lovely part of Shanghai. A tip for coffee lovers, exit the hotel, turn left and walk for about 200 meters and you will see TuTu coffee, a small little cafe by a side lane. This was where I had the best latte and flat white coffee, in China.
