Beautiful hotel stellar service wonderful stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We stayed here for 3 nights and the experience was incredible. Stellar service, immaculate attention to detail the most welcoming experience I’ve ever had in a 5 star hotel. We were in an executive level access room and we were looked after by Yudith the manager of the level 28 club lounge. Yudith made our stay so comfortable so perfect she goes above and beyond to make the guests have a memorable cherished holiday, she is an absolute asset to the Kempinski brand, a fantastic ambassador. Anything we needed she organised straight away and made fantastic sight seeing recommendations. She was wonderful with my son too you can tell she loves her job. We also had so much fun in the dim sum market and cooking class so organised by Eric Zhang the food and beverage director, great guy. The executive chef, Chef Berkani and head chef, Chef Zhang of Suntime Century came with us to the markets to shop for the lunch which was great experience to have the local knowledge. We had such a delicious, sumptuous lunch. Highly recommend! Will definitely be staying again when we come to Shanghai again.

Great location for a Shanghai visit

Location of the hotel is perfect, right next to Oriental Pearl tower, few hundred meters from Lujiazui Metro. Spent five nights there. I had booked a "Club Skyline View Room" and was upgraded to a bigger room, also on club level, due to my Discovery status. Room is large and nice, has a separate working corner with desk and sofa. Huge windows with excellent views of Pudong river and financial district. Bathroom is large, has a huge shower cubicle plus separate tub. Sleep was no problem since the bed/mattress was excellent. The hotel is also very quiet, no noise at all. The 24hr gym on 30th floor has lots of machines and a great view of pearl tower. In the evenings I enjoyed light dinner buffet/refreshments in the executive lounge, where I want to commend ladies Irene and Aletta for their excellent service! I took breakfast in the "Elements" restaurant on ground floor since the executive lounge breakfast offers only a small variety of the foods available in the restaurant (the advantage of the lounge being that it is quiet). Elements offers mostly Chinese dishes (plus Japanese sushi rolls) and also a nice variety of Western food. The only slight complaint I have is that the quality of the food during breakfast varies quite a bit. I especially liked some of the Chinese dishes/soup/dumplings, but there was no "wow effect" if you know what I mean. Summarizing I can only recommend the hotel.

The hotel looks and feels luxurious, but at the same time it has a very warm atmosphere. The personal attention in the club lounge is great! The breakfast with a view over the city is fantastic. Room is spacious, well equipped and clean. I will definitely book this hotel again for my next trip to Shanghai!
