Very unique but not up to luxury standardThe hotel is in unique mansion building in old Shanghai, but there is more luxury accomodations.
Breakfast room was under rennovation so bkfst was served to room and very mediocare.
Afternoon tea was a real disappointment - some fruit and squares of a cake. also some unidentifued mayonaise salad served on spoons - is that what they meant by "canapes"?...
There is hardly any staff to call upon (let alone concirege, bellboy, etc). Its almost as if you are renting a room in a mansion.
Mansion and Room indeed very special and rennovated old French quarter style to the detail... But there is more to running a luxury botique hotel, isnt threre?
