We stopped in Shanghai for 3 nights on our way to Sydney . The hotel was very impressive . They had thought of everything . We travelled with 2 young children and the staff made everything very easy . The rooms were even equipped with two little robes and 2 pairs of little slippers! We are at 3 of the restaurants and the food was fantastic . We had the river views and this was spectacular at night . The location was great as it was a walk able distance to shops and restaurants . Will definately visit again .

The Peninsula with its world class establishments in 10 major cities is a definitive assurance of quality! The high tea is accompanied by violins and the spa treatments and products are immaculate. Try the rooftop lounge for immense views of Pudong as well as unforgettably romantic times! I have visited numerous times during my base in Shanghai (2013-2015).

our stay was so pleasant and welcomed. everyone in the hotel worked efficiently, and naturally as if they’d worked there for years. the front desk was among the best we’ve encountered, housekeeping was perfect, even the lifeguard at the swimming pool, usually ignored by me, made me feel special about this place. Tried both sir elly’s and yi long court, they’re both great, especially sir elly’s for its views and dining experience. this hotel is the place for a good holiday.

I cannot recommend the Peninsula in Shanghai highly enough. Whether you're visiting for the first time or coming back (my second visit to China) it's hard to beat its location or the luxury/personalized service. Upon arrival and check in, you are warmly greeted and escorted to registration. Thomas, the front desk manager, checked me in and showed me to my room which had a commanding view of the Bund/river. Everything about the room and its space was flawless with any possible detail you could imagine accounted for. Those rooms with the great views are worth the extra cost so definitely splurge for a full river/Bund view. I was constantly greeted by name when I passed through the lobby or went into the restaurant, and the food and beverage manager was very much present always seeing to our needs. The spa is also fantastic and the reflexology therapist world renown. Finally, I swam in the pool early every morning which was glorious. If I could give it six stars, I would!
