Reviews for Therasia Resort Sea & Spa
Well, there is NOTHING that the staff couldn't do for you at this hotel. They were all friendly & assisted where they could. Massimo & Alberto in the restaurant were both great & their English wonderful! Lorenza on reception desk was also brilliant with her English & Olga in the Michelin star also had amazing English. They knowledge of the hotel, their jobs & the area = 10/10! For those suffering with food allergies... there's a gluten & dairy free menu in the evening, just ask for it as well as the vegetarian menu. One thing... the portions for the evening menu are big for the 2nd & 3rd courses. The starter portions are just right! The food was as authentic as you can get & not one dish I could complain about. For breakfast, you can ask for a poached or sunny side up egg, there are also many options from milk to choose from & a typical Italian breakfast - great to try traditional food :-) The telly does have some English channels, but it's really only news which is disappointing as they have some great SKY channels, but not in English!!! The drinks in the mini bar are free, which you really don't get anywhere else and the toiletries are all gluten free - AMAZING!!! Only downside is that there is no coffee making facilities in the room which is a shame as I'd love to have been having a coffee when I wake up on the balcony as we had a lovely sea view room.

Our five nights at Therasia have just ended and the details are fresh in our minds. The staff are extraordinary and there is nothing that is too much trouble for them. The breakfast spread is so extensive that besides being seriously impressed I can't help thinking about the inevitable waste that must result from such a huge display. The day spa is excellent with great aqua-therapy freely accessed as often as you wish. We also booked deep tissue massages (I think the therapist was Walter) and it was excellent and good value. The all-day dining venues are great and again good value. Every meal at these two eateries was excellent and the service was equally good. We took the experience of booking a meal in the Michelin starred restaurant as well. It was an artistic triumph but I, personally, have never really enjoyed such sophisticated food so the experience was exactly what I expected. The food feels like it has been too over-worked. I would have loved some fresh greens interspersed through the seven course marathon. I really appreciate the talent and they absolutely deserve their star but it is not for me. And that's just personal. Housekeeping was great, interiors are wonderful, service very personal and friendly. The shuttle bus very useful and we ate in the port once which was good and went on a day trip to Stromboli which was a wonderful day.
If I could give this hotel more than a 5 star then I would. When we drove into the hotel we were just taken aback with the amazing views of the other islands and the complete serenity of the place. The transfer service to the hotel was seamless. I could go into the qualities of all the staff but I could write a book . Without exception every member of staff were professional personable and could not do enough for you. The food was amazing and some very exotic dishes and it was lovely to try new things all the time. Prosecco for breakfast was a lovely treat. Shuttles to and from the beaches ran regularly every day. Drinks were very expensive but as we are not big drinkers it became quality over quantity. Having dinner and watching Strombolis smoking and watching shooting stars was amazing. This was a genuine 5 star hotel.

We spent a week from the sixth of June in this hidden gem of a hotel, looking for a restful holiday. We were not disappointed, the location and the layout of the facility is perfect. There are even small terraces with sunbeds and small plunge pools with waterfalls where you can rest in between the swim in the wonderful infinity pool and maybe a trip to the bar. We were half board and so have experienced the amazing breakfast every day. The resort takes pride in using the local produce, jams, honeys, pistachio condiment and of course Sicilian pastries and breads baked fresh on the premises. We had an early departure on our last day but breakfast was made available at 6.20 am to our small group. All of the staff we have encountered were extremely polite, helpful and friendly. They really seem to take a pride in their work. The shuttle provided to the port made it easy to travel to other islands on the hydrofoil, we took a trip to Lipari, beautiful old town with a very good museum and a cathedral. A great way to see the island of Vulcano is from the sea. Ask reception to call Capt Salvo, he took a small group of us around the island showing us the beautiful coastline, stopping for us to swim and snorkel and at a hidden beach for lunch. His home made pizza and an ice cold Prosecco was a treat! A great day out for 30 euro each. Yes we had a rest and we also explored a little. A very good find. Thank you Fleetway Travel.

Vulcano Journey epic 12hr Gatwick to arrival, in stages flight coach ferry. Staff at airports not expecting us chaotic. In contrast staff at hotel superb. Garden room ok but go for a sea view if you can. Views from the hotel amazing sunsets out of this world.Breakfast wide choice minor niggle hot food not hot enough. Excellent English breakfast tea. Dinner 4/5 courses too much food, good choice mainly fish (we are not great fish eaters) vegetarian and gluten free menu available but you have to ask. Wine expensive but no more than you pay in a decent restaurant in the U.K. If overall you want a truly relaxing 7-10 day holiday this is the one for you. Infinity Pool and spa amazing, plenty of sun beds on all different levels. Pool staff excellent swim off jetty although we didn't because of jellyfish. Do bring insect repellent. Local town small and quirky 1 hr and you have done it. Sulphur mud pool available hot and smelly by all accounts. Michelin star restaurant excellent however we were disappointed that we were steered off the wine pairing. Have had better room cleaners. Bed always pristine but did not remove dirty glasses from the previous day! Overall a 4.5
