Reviews for Therasia Resort Sea & Spa
We stayed at the Therasia resort for 5 nights but wished we had stayed longer. The views over the Eolian Islands are simply stunning and the Therasia is a great base to explore the other islands with regular ferries from Vulcano. The hotel shuttle schedule is fairly infrequent but when we asked reception they were happy to accommodate an off schedule trip to the ferry port. It is not very close to the main tourist area of Vulcano but one you're at the Therasia you won't feel like leaving anyway :)

This is a beautiful hotel in a fantastic setting. You cannot fault the views, facilities, standard of the rooms, quality of the staff and overall ambience of the place. We went on a half board deal but like some other recent correspondents we avoided the bar because it was so expensive - 10 euros for a glass of house wine, 20 euros for a kir royale. The food in the Archipelago restaurant was good but not outstanding and we decided against the Michelin starred restaurant because of cost. Breakfasts had a large range of options all pretty good. We felt that more information about the island and indeed the hotel facilities and restaurants could have been in the rooms. These are minor criticisms and if you have the money then probably not an issue! Maybe because it was near the end of the season but I think 5 star rating is just a little generous.

Myself and my husband had a lovely relaxing stay at Therasia it is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location and the sunset is truly amazing. It’s true what a lot of people say on here that it’s a long journey but well worth it when you arrive! The infinity pool was great and had the most wonderful view over looking the other islands. We did however not feel this should be rated 5 star, we have stayed in many 5 star hotels before and this was just not up to scratch. There was a handful of great staff but aside from that the others needed training on consistency and process to ensure all staff were following the same approach. You could argue this is 4 star hotel with 5 star pricing. The bar was way too expensive, as a few others have said on here why not lower the price so guests buy more. €5 euros for a bottle of water, €9 euros a prosecco, €16 for a gin and tonic is too much. There is also the fact that different bars in the same hotel charge different prices for the same drink which was a mystery to us. We also found on 3 occasions our drinks bill was overcharged. We spotted this early on so checked the bill thoroughly throughout our stay. We would definitely recommend guests check their bill on all occasions. Definitely reserve a table if you want to dine in the restaurant and don’t have half board. We were not told this on our first night and had to wait until 21:30 to have dinner which was not the nicest of experiences on our first night. I’m glad we had B&B and the option of eating in the harbour, we also ate at the poolside restaurant one night for dinner and had lovely pizza in candlelight which was very nice. The Michelin restaurant was fantastic and well worth a visit if you don’t mind spending the extra £££ on a lovely meal. It was one of the best Michelin restaurants we have visited. Overall it’s a lovely hotel and the location/views are fantastic. If the management just spent some time reviewing pricing and consistency this has the potential to be a solid 5 star hotel.

Been to the sister resort in Ischia many times and wanted to try this one. Great resort lovely views big pool / bar area with many small terraces with 3 or 4 sun beds to relax on some with small plunge pools. Food amazing breakfast and evening meal, great service helpful staff. The building clean and well maintained. Don't come here for entertainment it's quiet very quiet not good for children, for relaxation, perfect which suited us. The island a bit of a let down. Transfer from airport interesting and hard 12 hours from Gatwick.

Therasia resort is beautiful. Food is first class although wine and other drinks quite expensive. The rooms are basic, air-conditioning intermittent and little or no WiFi. Views from the resort are stunning but don't bother leaving the resort, the island is unkempt and smelly. Be warned, travelling to this island isn't for the faint hearted! From start to arrival it took 12 hours.
