Reviews for Therasia Resort Sea & Spa
If I could give this hotel more than a 5 star then I would. When we drove into the hotel we were just taken aback with the amazing views of the other islands and the complete serenity of the place. The transfer service to the hotel was seamless. I could go into the qualities of all the staff but I could write a book . Without exception every member of staff were professional personable and could not do enough for you. The food was amazing and some very exotic dishes and it was lovely to try new things all the time. Prosecco for breakfast was a lovely treat. Shuttles to and from the beaches ran regularly every day. Drinks were very expensive but as we are not big drinkers it became quality over quantity. Having dinner and watching Strombolis smoking and watching shooting stars was amazing. This was a genuine 5 star hotel.

We spent a week from the sixth of June in this hidden gem of a hotel, looking for a restful holiday. We were not disappointed, the location and the layout of the facility is perfect. There are even small terraces with sunbeds and small plunge pools with waterfalls where you can rest in between the swim in the wonderful infinity pool and maybe a trip to the bar. We were half board and so have experienced the amazing breakfast every day. The resort takes pride in using the local produce, jams, honeys, pistachio condiment and of course Sicilian pastries and breads baked fresh on the premises. We had an early departure on our last day but breakfast was made available at 6.20 am to our small group. All of the staff we have encountered were extremely polite, helpful and friendly. They really seem to take a pride in their work. The shuttle provided to the port made it easy to travel to other islands on the hydrofoil, we took a trip to Lipari, beautiful old town with a very good museum and a cathedral. A great way to see the island of Vulcano is from the sea. Ask reception to call Capt Salvo, he took a small group of us around the island showing us the beautiful coastline, stopping for us to swim and snorkel and at a hidden beach for lunch. His home made pizza and an ice cold Prosecco was a treat! A great day out for 30 euro each. Yes we had a rest and we also explored a little. A very good find. Thank you Fleetway Travel.

Vulcano Journey epic 12hr Gatwick to arrival, in stages flight coach ferry. Staff at airports not expecting us chaotic. In contrast staff at hotel superb. Garden room ok but go for a sea view if you can. Views from the hotel amazing sunsets out of this world.Breakfast wide choice minor niggle hot food not hot enough. Excellent English breakfast tea. Dinner 4/5 courses too much food, good choice mainly fish (we are not great fish eaters) vegetarian and gluten free menu available but you have to ask. Wine expensive but no more than you pay in a decent restaurant in the U.K. If overall you want a truly relaxing 7-10 day holiday this is the one for you. Infinity Pool and spa amazing, plenty of sun beds on all different levels. Pool staff excellent swim off jetty although we didn't because of jellyfish. Do bring insect repellent. Local town small and quirky 1 hr and you have done it. Sulphur mud pool available hot and smelly by all accounts. Michelin star restaurant excellent however we were disappointed that we were steered off the wine pairing. Have had better room cleaners. Bed always pristine but did not remove dirty glasses from the previous day! Overall a 4.5
We booked this for our honeymoon and stayed from 3rd June for a week. To say in a few words just how stunning the views are, wouldn't do it justice. It really is an amazing place to stay. It's peaceful, the food is great and so much choice and the customer service is exceptional. The staff are great and our thanks go to Francescina, who supplied us throughout our stay with drinks around the pool; Marco, whom was always informative about the wine and not forgetting Max in the restaurant', you are a great asset to the hotel. We truly had a wonderful honeymoon, made even more special by you all. Our room was 216, had a sea view and overlooked a courtyard, although small, it had everything you need. It also had a fridge and free soft drinks and water was provided everyday. We also had a meal in the Michelin restaurant, which was a lovely experience and included a flight of wine. I must say we thought the food in the restaurant was equally as good. The only negative comment I would say is don't have the 'beef gut' it literally is just that, one to avoid, albeit a Sicilian dish, but somewhat rustic...... As said we stayed early June and it was relatively quiet, I don't think staying in the height of the season it wouldn't have the same ambiance. Would we go back? In a heartbeat and plan to for an anniversary. Thank you so much, it was truly memorable.

I am quite torn with my score, I would give this 3.5 if I could. Some great points to the hotel, the outside areas are great, spacious, nice seating. Infinity pool is lovely and no one was ever in it. Breakfast was also wonderful with many choices including champagne! The views are obviously spectacular. However, the hotel is lacking in my opinion. The rooms are 3* at best, rusty showers and little space or working sockets. Double bed is 2 singles pushed together and there's no full length mirror!! We had a huge outdoor terrace which was great (non sea view), and having seen the sea view room would not have paid the extra €90. There is no shop nearby as previously mentioned and the hotel is pretty pricey. The shuttle is good to get to the port area, you would need a car otherwise, but there was little going on when we were there with many restaurants empty. Although I can't help thinking the stench of sulphur probably puts a few people off! Wish I had stayed longer than one night to enjoy the hotel facilities (not the room), would probably not return as it's a pain to get to just for the views.
