Belmond La Residence d'Angkor in Siem Reap, Cambodia
A stone’s throw from the empire’s legendary ancient temples, this luxurious modern retreat exemplifies traditional Khmer architecture. Here, tranquil gardens – including a pond dotted with floating lotus blossoms - provide a lush backdrop to a pool and spa on the banks of the Siem Reap River. Nearby, open-air markets attract locals and visitors fascinated by the rich colors, textiles, flavors and scents. This is a thriving town with rich heritage.
Before dawn take a tuk tuk ride through Siem Reap to the legendary ancient temple of Angkor Wat. Watch the sun rise in the orange sky over the roofline’s iconic silhouette and tour the rambling ruins – but beware of curious monkeys. Continue your ride past dramatic, centuries-old tropical trees to Angkor Thom nearby. Ride to the historic Foreign Correspondents’ Club for a French-Vietnamese lunch, and tour the Psa Leu markets to pick up silks and spices. Dine on Executive Chef Saul Garcia Ramos’ world cuisine with a Khmer twist at the hotel’s restaurant Circle.

Reviews for Belmond La Residence d'Angkor
Perfectly located and high standard hotel , staff as competent as they are friendly , ideal for top quality relaxing as a base for the amazing visits of Siem Reap (temples, villages etc) but also the local day and night markets as well as restaurants just a stone's throw away with great food with very reasonable prices (hotel staff delighted to help with bookings and not just keep you at their hotel's restaurants ) 5 star rooms , breakfast is asian and western and anyone who needs lunch afterwards has a huge appetite , the Ember bar restaurant fabulous for meals by the pool. We had a problem with flight arrangements and the staff did everything to sort the problem well beyond the call of duty . When you visit Siem Reap the most important thing after choosing the right hotel like this one is your guide for the visits of Angkor , the hotel will arrange this and don't hesitate to discuss with the guide your timing, availability , preferences , everything is flexible . It's worthwhile to see the right spots, avoid the huge groups of tourists , the sunrise/sunset understand something about the history and the culture . In the greater scheme of things the cost is derisory and you will go away elated.
My partner and I had the pleasure of staying here as our first Belmonde experience. What a treat it has been. From the airport collection in a beautiful Audi car with cool jasmine scented towels to refresh us and coconut water served in coconuts as we drove from the airport. We had a feeling this could be a lovely stay. The staff are very helpful, attentive and welcoming. Our room spacious and very clean with plenty of purified water constantly supplied. Poolside attendants noticed and supplied every need each visit. The Kong Kea Spa therapists are so well trained and professional that I went back for a second treatment. Breakfast is faultless as are the lunch and dinner choices. Well done Belmonde management and team. We look forward to working towards another stay with you. 😉

My husband and I just spent four days at this wonderful hotel and would thoroughly recommend it. Our room was full of character with interesting cultural touches. Great bathroom and comfortable bed. We were served small cakes every day. Breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of Western and Asian dishes and freshly squeezed fruit juices. The staff were attentive and really friendly. We ate in the Ember restaurant and had great tasting local food.

It was very hot touring Angkor Wat and we cut each day short to return to our cool hotel for champagne and lunch followed by massages. There are hosted manager’s cocktail parties a couple of nights a week and you can meet the GM and the Spa manager. Both were very personable and professional. We found the hotel to be value priced- exceptional breakfast buffet and great dinner was offered nightly. $38 for dinner including house wine was a bargain and there we lots of choices from grill to stir fry to curry station plus salad bar.

We spent a few nights at this wonderful hotel with incredible grounds. The rooms were wonderful and the service from the front desk, to the restaurants, the housekeeping staff and the front desk was superb. After a day of sightseeing it was wonderful to sit at the pool and receive a short complementary head and back massage. We chatted with the very charming front desk assitant manager at a cocktail party for hotel guests. The aroma from the floral arrangments was a lovely touch. I highly recommend staying here.
