Belmond La Residence d'Angkor in Siem Reap, Cambodia

A stone’s throw from the empire’s legendary ancient temples, this luxurious modern retreat exemplifies traditional Khmer architecture. Here, tranquil gardens – including a pond dotted with floating lotus blossoms - provide a lush backdrop to a pool and spa on the banks of the Siem Reap River. Nearby, open-air markets attract locals and visitors fascinated by the rich colors, textiles, flavors and scents. This is a thriving town with rich heritage.

Before dawn take a tuk tuk ride through Siem Reap to the legendary ancient temple of Angkor Wat. Watch the sun rise in the orange sky over the roofline’s iconic silhouette and tour the rambling ruins – but beware of curious monkeys. Continue your ride past dramatic, centuries-old tropical trees to Angkor Thom nearby. Ride to the historic Foreign Correspondents’ Club for a French-Vietnamese lunch, and tour the Psa Leu markets to pick up silks and spices. Dine on Executive Chef Saul Garcia Ramos’ world cuisine with a Khmer twist at the hotel’s restaurant Circle.

We stayed for 5 nights at the Residence d'Angkor, which is located in the center of Siem Reap. Everything was faultless, from the warm welcome to the efficient front desk, the cleanliness of the room or the service at the Bar and Spa. The hotel has a beautiful swimming pool and spa to relax after visiting Angkor. It also features a shop with wonderful jewels and handmade Khmer silk products. Last but not least, all the hotel employees who crossed our way were always smiling and friendly with a sense of detail which characterizes true luxury places. We highly recommend this place!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago would be here at this nirvana. Everything we experienced from stepping through the front door for a three day stay was truly memorable. The service was impeccable, facilities the highest quality and luxurious, staff friendliness was authentic, warm and engaging. The food was of the highest standard and flavour. Would I return to this hotel again? a heartbeat! If you want to experience the 'bucket list' experience of Angkor Wat, then you could not do any better than to complement your experience than to luxuriate at the Belmond.

Everything is perfect at La Résidence d'Ankor. Great swimming pool! Some suites with private garden on the pool. Perfect hotel fir a family with children. Just across the Siem Reap River to the city center, Pub Street and night market.

We have toured South East Asia for two weeks and found Belmond the most welcoming and comfortable hotel of all. It is very well looked after, the service is impeccable. They made sure we had everything to make our stay as relaxing as possible from wonderful massages with Rokhenna to having a lazy lounge by the pool. They work tirelessly bringing you towels, drinks, and go beyond expected offering us a late breakfast after our morning trip to Angkor Wat. Location was perfect for a stroll through the city and rooms were in great condition and very comfortable. It is seldom that a place looks as good as the website.

We had a wonderful experience at Belmont properties in Peru a couple of years ago, and when I saw there was one in Siem Reap I decided to check it out while planning our family vacation to Asia this year. It's pricey for Cambodia, yes. But so worth every dollar we spent there. It's actually a bungalow that was the residence of the Transport Minister back in the day. I love staying in older places that have been renovated - and this one was PERFECT!! It's along the banks of the river, and just steps away from the nightlife of Pub Street. There are tons of coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance, which made it an ideal base for our 2-day stay there. The entrance to the property is understated - a small circular driveway, and a little doorway. This hotel was renovated just last year, and they have done a fantastic job. From the waterfalls and lush gardens, to the teak accents throughout the property, we were instantly transported into this really zen atmosphere. The service was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️too. The check in staff, the restaurant staff, the housekeeping staff, were always always attentive. Our junior suite was spacious and tastefully decorated in Khmer style. The bathroom had a free standing tub and a rain head shower. Our suite backed the pool, which some reviewers had said was noisy, but we did not have that problem at all. The breakfast buffet was extensive and we had ample choices - omelets made to order, their traditional soup bowls with your choice of meat, pastries, cheeses, deli meats, in house made yoghurt, and fresh fruit and cereal. Our rate included a USD 100 spa credit, and both my husband and I scheduled massages there after our long day at the Angkor temple complex. We had wonderful therapists and were totally relaxed after our treatments. The coffee foot scrub at the start of our session was amazing!! We had a memorable stay here. 👍🏼👍🏼
