Belmond La Residence d'Angkor in Siem Reap, Cambodia
A stone’s throw from the empire’s legendary ancient temples, this luxurious modern retreat exemplifies traditional Khmer architecture. Here, tranquil gardens – including a pond dotted with floating lotus blossoms - provide a lush backdrop to a pool and spa on the banks of the Siem Reap River. Nearby, open-air markets attract locals and visitors fascinated by the rich colors, textiles, flavors and scents. This is a thriving town with rich heritage.
Before dawn take a tuk tuk ride through Siem Reap to the legendary ancient temple of Angkor Wat. Watch the sun rise in the orange sky over the roofline’s iconic silhouette and tour the rambling ruins – but beware of curious monkeys. Continue your ride past dramatic, centuries-old tropical trees to Angkor Thom nearby. Ride to the historic Foreign Correspondents’ Club for a French-Vietnamese lunch, and tour the Psa Leu markets to pick up silks and spices. Dine on Executive Chef Saul Garcia Ramos’ world cuisine with a Khmer twist at the hotel’s restaurant Circle.

Reviews for Belmond La Residence d'Angkor
We stayed here for 4 nights to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. From being met at the airport to our departure the staff were friendly, helpful and polite. The service was exemplary, attentive yet discreet at all times and the hotel environment totally relaxing. The rooms were beautifully appointed and the salt water pool a must after a temple tour. The hotel is centrally located with easy access to shops, markets, eateries and 'Pub Street'. If you don't fancy a walk, tuk-tuks are on hand everywhere. The hotel provides lovely touches to ensure your comfort, a sun-hat and fan on your sun-lounger along with a 'pool-pack' basket containing ice-cold facecloths, sunscreen, bottled water and insect repellent not forgetting the daily complementary poolside ice-cream. We really enjoyed all the different dishes and flavours of 'Buffet Night' and the Spa/Gym facilities were excellent. We will be back.

This is a trip for serenity, tranquility, a place where tales my Grandmother come alive dating back to 2500 BC and more maybe , come alive in paintings sculptures of the Angkor series of temples. The worlds biggest temple sites- started off as Hindu and now is Hindu and Buddhist. The temples have the Buddha, all the Hindu Gods, tales from the Mahabharata, Ramayana - modern technology comes alive through the tomb raider with the roots of the trees engulfing the temples. The food street across the river where I lived is the day be, dance, drink place. You will get everything for 1 dollar - a tuck tuck ride, a beer. This small country has seen enough violence for a generation - global super power plays with enough locals willing to bring them in leaving a wanton trail of death and destruction

Let me begin by saying my husband and I have traveled the world and have stayed in many four and five star hotels over the years in many countries. This hotel is superb in both beauty and service! The property is lush and well maintained and offers everything you could ever want. What really makes this property remarkable though, is the staff. They are always concerned about your happiness and willing and EAGER to do whatever it is your heart desires. I have never felt so well cared for in a hotel in my life. Seriously. If service is what you like, this is the hotel for you. They even have a cocktail party for their clients with free snacks and cocktails. It was here that I met a lovely woman named Jasmine, who I think is a concierge?? I really enjoyed talking to her and learned a lot about the country and other things you would only learn from talking to a local Cambodian. Meeting her helped me get a real feel for Cambodian people and how sweet and caring they are. The next day I was having a problem and my husband mentioned it to Jasmine in passing. The next thing I know, Jasmine has gone above and beyond the call of duty and found a solution for my problem and executed a fix for it. I was flabbergasted by her efforts. I will be forever spoiled with regard to my expectation of service based on my experience at this hotel.

One of the loveliest places I've stayed. On arrival and returning to hotel you are always greeted with a cold face cloth, this goes a long way in 40 degree heat and incredible humidity. Breakfast was lovely, bottomless champagne đthe rooms are immaculate!!!! The staff are all incredible, can't rate this place highly enough. Management cocktails great, constantly bringing you another drink and talking to you about your stay, a very nice touch! Big shout out to Oscar, lovely guy we spoke to at the hotel. đ
I can't say enough about the staff at this location. One of a kind. From picking us up at the airport through our whole stay it was simply amazing. The only downside is now all the other hotels we are staying at on our honeymoon have big shoes to fill!
