Grand Hotel Continental Siena in Siena, Tuscany, Italy
Originally built in the 17th century by the great Italian architect Carlo Fontana, Grand Hotel Continental Siena is a jewel in the heart of the Tuscan city of Siena. Its transformation from a splendid aristocratic home to one of the world's most elegant hotels inspired a painstaking restoration, and the hard work was indeed worthwhile. With its original architectural features and magnificent frescoes, including a wall painting of St. Christopher dating from the 15th century, the hotel is now an integral part of the city's cultural heritage.
Situated in the Piazza Salimbeni, just a few steps from the Piazza del Campo, famed for its horse racing, the hotel is a place of unforgettable experiences. Whether you are taking a cup of tea in the elegant Enoteca ai Banchi winter garden or visiting the wine vaults for a tasting of fine vintages accompanied by the savories of the Tuscan region, you will know you have entered the realm of privilege. The hotel is the ideal complement to your enjoyment of the region, from the basilicas of San Domenico, built in 1225, to the nearby medieval hilltop town of San Gimignano.

Reviews for Grand Hotel Continental Siena
Absolutely one of the most wonderful experiences of our lives. The staff could not have been more accommodating nor the premises more beautiful for such a special event. The suites are enormous, location exceptional and staff amazing. Strongly recommend to anyone. Thank you to everyone for making our day so wonderful b

Main advantage is the Location, Location, Location...... Pricey but very little around that provides the same experience and atmosphere. Close to the town center and many fabulous restaurants. Siena is a beautiful city and a must see at night after all the "other" tourist leave.

We stayed 4 nights at this hotel. The staff are fantastic. Our room was a little tired but full of character and charm. The location is perfect right in the Main Street. We would return anytime. Siena was wonderful in January- no crowds and the weather was cool but not cold.
Very well located in Siena, namely, in the pedestrian zone, and close to all main attractions. It is a classical style hotel, so do not expect quite modern amenities. Attentive English speaking staff. Breakfast is good with cold and warm options. One has to keep in mind that, though not cheap, it will be very difficult to find a better place to stay in Siena.

Stayed for 2 night between Xmas and New Years. Originally we were going to get a high end Airbnb thinking that it would be greatly cheaper than hotels but we found out esp around the holidays, Airbnb’s are very pricey. This hotel is easily the nicest in town and it’s smack in the center of the old city - literally a 5 min walk to any destination in town. We found this hotel to be comparable to any Airbnb that’s centrally located. For no difference in price, we prioritized having our bed made every day and a welcoming environment. Staff is very helpful (thanks for everything Laura!), rooms are very big (we were upgraded without asking), and our view was as good as the one from the top of the tower. Without hesitation would recommend this to anyone coming through Siena. Very accessible via the train - approximately a 8 min cab ride that will run you 11 eur. I can’t ding this hotel for the below things but just worth keeping in mind: - some rooms face the street and look out on a bar which can be noisy at night so either request a high floor or be aware of that. - the WiFi is kinda weird. If your phones screen goes dark, it disconnects from the WiFi which gets super annoying.
