Originally built in the 17th century by the great Italian architect Carlo Fontana, Grand Hotel Continental Siena is a jewel in the heart of the Tuscan city of Siena. Its transformation from a splendid aristocratic home to one of the world's most elegant hotels inspired a painstaking restoration, and the hard work was indeed worthwhile. With its original architectural features and magnificent frescoes, including a wall painting of St. Christopher dating from the 15th century, the hotel is now an integral part of the city's cultural heritage.

Couldn't locate a hotel better if you tried - right in the centre of it all. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms were large and comfortable. A little awkward to drive into as it is in the pedestrian area but made it in the end - just go slow! Would highly recommend - must be amazing for Il Palio!

The staff went above and beyond at this amazing property -carrying our luggage to our driver 1/2 mile away when the streets were closed for a race! The breakfast every day was superb as well. Location A+-shoppes and restaurants right out the door!

My wife and I spent two nights at this hotel. It is expensive but I think worth the cost. Great location, close enough for drop off without having to pull luggage far (just across street). Friendly staff. Very good breakfast and far/lounge. Despite being in city center are room was very quiet. Highly recommend!

I was so excited to stay at the nicest hotel in Siena on our trip and we stayed here 2 nights. After the first night, I woke up covered in bites. I told my husband I thought there were bedbugs and he thought I was crazy. I was itchy all day and had about 10 to 12 bites all over my body. The next night we were up all night. He started getting bites as well. We told the hotel in the middle of the night and they said that we must have left the window open. We let them know we did not open the window. They let us switch rooms, but the damage was done. The next morning they apologized and said they misunderstood with the language barrier and thought that there were flying insects in the room. They told us that they would refund us for the entire stay because of the inconvenience and how grossed out we were. We showed the front desk lady our bodies covered in bites and she apologized and said she would refund the entire stay. When I got home and still had the charge I called back and they said they didn’t find bugs and wouldn’t refund us. No contact from them at all they just changed their mind. A simple Google search will let you know how challenging it is to see and find them. We certainly saw them a few times after leaving this hotel on our stuff. This was such a disappointing and disgusting experience. We had to go launder all our clothes in the middle of our vacation, couldn’t bring our luggage into any other hotel after this, and the fact they think we would make this up when we showed them our bodies were covered in bites is appalling. Not 5 star service or cleanliness, don’t stay here.
