About the Hotel

You saw the medieval spires of Fez, rode the whirlwind of wares and spices in Marrakech’s souk, and now you’re here at L'Amphitrite Palace – part of the collection of – for some well earned down time on one of the North Atlantic’s prettiest beaches. Guests come to L'Amphitrite to unwind – the whitewashed compound is in an isolated area and indeed feels like palace, where many of the rooms afford sea views. If the pull of the tides isn’t strong enough to reset your system, book a session in one of the spa’s hydrotherapy huts surrounded by spindly palms.

rude staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 11 months ago

My friends and I went to this hotel go enjoy the pool and the private beach access, the whole experience was fun but one little setback made it kind of bad. There was this security man I guess who was wearing a pink shirt who made sure our stay was horrible, he was mean and rude and so disrespectful, he kept telling us to stop taking pictures at “his hotel” and to go out. This little rude encounter made us leave the hotel at once and we swore we wouldn’t go back as long as he’s there. The other staff were incredibly nice and helpful.

A restaurant night mare

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed August 12, 2022

For those who don't kow the place, the location is fantastic, but the rest is below average. It is safe to take a drink but avoid the restaurant. Their menu carte is two lines, poor, limited and very expensive. If you order a pizza, your are in for a frozen dough and not well cooked. Forget the fresh mushrooms, they are canned. Their three offers of meat are minimal and badly presented. Don't talk about fish, they don't know it, or at least prepare it. The service is amateur apart from Houcine. I wouldn't recommend this place for a meal.

What a terrible experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed June 26, 2021

I am currently sitting in my room @l'amphitrite palace Beach Hotel, writing this review with a very very heavy heart. I called on Wednesday June 23/2021 and booked two rooms 148 and 150 for my elderly mother, my two kids, our nanny and myself. What was supposed to be a lovely relaxing stay turned out to be an absolute nightmare. day 1: arrived at the hotel, were a bit disappointed to see that what used to be a beautiful hotel looks outdated, very sad and in need of an immediate makeover, the towels must be at least 20 years old, the carpets at the lobby and the halls are worn and outdated, so is the furniture in the rooms. I was disappointed but decided to ignore the little details and enjoy my time with my mother that I hadn't seen since pre-covid. That same night, I invited 4 cousins for dinner at the restaurant, the menu is very limited, the food is below average, we asked for a pepperoni pizza for my kids, the waiter smirked and looked at me like I was asking for the moon. the steak and fish were overcooked, the salad was okay. After the cousins left, I started my kids' bedtime routine and was sweating while reading them their bedtime stories, my mother was also sweating in the other room, I called the front desk asking for a technician to come look at our AC but was told the AC was completely turned off due to Covid, REALLY? My husband, children and I have traveled at least 4 times since Christmas of 2020, to multiple destinations outside of the US and never heard of such thing! how can you turn off the AC in the middle of the summer and not disclose this to clients BEFORE they check in? I asked the nice gentleman on the phone and I was told this was on their website. really? but I made my reservation over the phone. why didn't Layla, the reservation agent disclose this to me before I made the trip to from Casablanca to skhirate with my young children and elderly mother who's in a wheelchair and can't get up to get some fresh air in the balcony? speaking of wheelchairs, this 5 star hotel has only one ramp to accommodate wheelchairs and it is so out of the way we decided to just lift her every time instead of walking around the hotel to get to the ramp. The guy that helped with our bags, Said, was really nice and helped us carry her up the stairs leading to the lobby so for that I am thankful. After going back and forth with the front desk guy about our AC I decided to just give up and on central air and ask for a fan for my mother but was told they didn't have that on-site. (Have I mentioned This is supposed to be a 5 star hotel?) Again, I decided to just move on and not ruin our vacation so we sucked it up and went to sleep.. in the middle of the night the same night, a huge rock fell out of the second floor (this hotel is falling into pieces) and scared the heck out of us, I was especially worried about my mom as she is almost 80 years old and is very fragile. I took pictures and showed Said (not the guy that helped with the wheelchair but a different Said) one of the team leads I believe, he told me he was going to escalate the issue but I never heard back.. did they fix the issue, will more rocks fall on someone's head and cause serious damage? only time will tell... A few other hiccups happened but they are not worth mentioning. Today, day 3, after a long day at the pool, we decided to lay low in the room and watch movies on our iPad because I tried watching cable but gave up as the reception is terrible. As I started my kids bedtime routine, I was surprised that there was no hot water in both bathrooms, I was standing in my pj's, very upset at this point, calling the front desk multiple times to no avail. I had to walk out of the room in my pajamas to try and find a tech to take a look at our water. I am still sitting in my room, 45 minutes later, waiting for someone to come look at the showers, I am checking out tomorrow and I honestly cannot wait to pack my bags and leave this place so I can finally enjoy some AC, cleanliness, good food and a wonderful time with my family, away from this place. What a shame @l'amphitrite Palace, This is the first time I leave a hotel with a bitter taste in my mouth. Ps: I should have mentioned that Mme Alaoui at the front desk, Naima the cleaning lady and Said were nice and easy to deal with. They tried their best to solve some of the issues but the major issues we are having are really out of their control.

Very relaxing stay with a high end service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed December 24, 2019

I've stayed at the hotel for a short summer break and it was what we expected and more. The rooms were big very well maintained with slippers bathrobes etc. The food is delicious and fresh and the staff is so professional and takes the time to help you, the site is very safe. I am definitely coming back this summer.
