About the Hotel

Mamma Mia immortalized the Greek island of Skiathos, and Princess Resort Skiathos makes it possible to have a family vacation that’s equally unforgettable. The resort cultivates an effortlessly chic environment that caters to all ages, which recently earned it accolades from Harper’s Bazaar. It’s also a fave among A-listers (Skiathos’s powdery beaches and picturesque small towns really are movie-set perfect) and yogis: Along with sister resort Aegean Suites Skiathos, this is the only place in Greece to practice YogAqua, a fitness craze out of LA that combines yoga and stand-up paddle boarding

Lovely resort, Relaxing Space, Great Food, Great staff!

I had originally booked to stay here for a friends wedding on a non-refundable rate, however when the wedding was cancelled the staff at Santikos Collection (which this hotel is part of) were kind enough to provide me with a monetary credit to use later. I took my parents (late 60s) to Princess Resort in May 2024. The resort is big, positioned on the beach side and about 15 minutes drive from the airport/town centre. There is a bus stop directly outside which makes travelling about very easy. There are also a cluster of restaurants and a small supermarket across the road. All the staff - from reception, to restaurant, to spa, to management were friendly and helpful. We stayed in a deluxe family room on the ground floor which was large and had its only private garden area. The two single beds in the 'main' area were a bit hard and as 3 adults it would have been nice to have a double bed in this space too, but I managed to sleep fine. The actual bedroom (that my parents used) was nice and comfy, and I appreciated being able to close the connecting door and close the blinds for privacy. The bathroom was beautiful with a great shower. It was off-peak season when we went (Skiathos season seems to be later than other areas of Greece/Cypus/Spain that I have been to) and therefore very quiet. The weather wasn't that hot so nobody used the lovely looking pool. There were lots of sunbeds around the pool and the beach so could accommodate busier crowds. Breakfast buffet was good. Continental, pastries, yogurts, hot food (although could do with being a bit hotter) and freshly cooked omelettes/pancakes. There was a pool bar on site which had an al a carte menu (burger, pasta, grilled chicken, salad). This 'bar' stayed open until midnight but it didn't really feel like a place you would sit and relax in an evening, and it was too cold in the evenings to stay outside. We had al a carte dinners (half board) in the Ammos restaurant- beautiful setting right on the beach front. The food was amazing! The grilled squid starter was huge but delicious, grilled octopus the same, my parents had the prawn sagnaki 3 times in 5 days, the chicken pasta, prawn with orzo, tuna fillet were all cooked well and had huge portions, and I paid extra for the steak which was well worth it. The wine was good and the desserts are so big you really need to share them (or be very hungry). The staff at the restaurant were brilliant - really friendly, warm, and professional - big shout out to them! Ammos also doubled up as a beach bar, but again the only problem was that it was really too cold to be eating and drinking outside in the evenings. Its a shame the hotel didn't have an inside bar/restaurant that we could make use of during the cooler periods. I didn't get a chance to use the spa, but went on a tour of it and it looked nice and you book to use things like the sauna/steam room privately (paid for). Overall a really nice venue, great food, lovely beach setting - just needs an inside bar and perhaps some entertainment, but perhaps in high season these would be ticked off too.

Incredible service during Storm Daniel..

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We have been visiting Skiathos for the past 20 years and last September was our 6th time at the Princess which already speaks volumes. This time we were they for the week of horrendous Storm Daniel, which caused massive damage all over the island. The hotel went above and beyond to keep service running, and customers safe, fed and watered, even though most of the hotel was flooded, there was no electricity for 24 hours or more, and water cuts. This was done with the same shift of staff who worked tirelessly and endlessly for three days at least, as other staff were unable to get to the hotel when there was an island-wide curfew. This was a heroic effort. The hotel beach damage was extensive, yet within a day of the storm passing they had made good enough for customers to swim in the pool and use the beach including the umbrellas and sunbeds - amazing. Despite all this we booked this year’s holiday while locked down there but have chosen July this time so fingers crossed! See you soon Hotel Princess.

Just before leaving the UK, TUI informed us that due to Storm Daniel they could not accommodate us in the hotel of our choice and were moving us to The Skiathos Princess. We were a little concerned about the change but we had nothing to worry about The Skiathos Princess was brilliant. The staff we met throughout the Hotel were all friendly, approachable and helpful. From the reception staff and porters. All the staff in the restaurants serving and making our food. The cleaners and maintenance staff we passed were all very friendly and greeted us with a smile and hello. A great credit to your Hotel. We found the food was delicious and very tasty, plenty for us to choose from. Every day we went for a swim in the sea and found the beach very clean with free sunbeds. A lovely place to relax. The Skiathos Princess is about half way across the island so it roughly equal distance (2euro) from Skiathos Town and (2euro) to Koukounaries. We have had an absolutely brilliant holiday Thank you Skiathos Princess.
