I was there 3 days for a conference. The grounds are beautifully designed and kept. The food and drinks were quite good. Spa was huge, varied and well-staffed. All hospitality employees were gracious and helpful. And who doesn't like free parking. Great spot.

Yikes, not what I expected from a Fairmont. This place is dumpy and frumpy. Room was extremely average, carpet was shoddy. Had a terrible time getting luggage delivered to our room (took an hour and half) and ended up being late for a work event. Apparently they never had two guests with two different names before and that threw them for a loop - at least that's what they told us. Management attempted to make amends, but I would not stay here again or recommend this place. The concierge was also incompetent.

From start to finish loved it. Thank you to Diamond and her colleague on their warm and friendly welcome. Great ambassadors. We had booked a suite that has a fireplace. Wow. For January it was amazing sitting in our room overlooking the Sonoma mountain with the fire roaring. So special. Lastly which we loved and not to ruin it for other couples the hotel acknowledged our 2nd anniversary. Thank You for that!! Stay and enjoy!!

My husband and I stayed here while visiting wineries with another couple. First view is a circular drive with valets that greet your car immediately. A short open-air walk to the lobby allows time to admire the classic landscaping. Luggage is unloaded, tagged, and then delivered to your room. Our valet offered some of the history of the hotel and the property. We arrived late evening and upon entering the lobby, the desk is to the right and we were still greeted with champagne as they treated us as though they'd been awaiting our arrival! The lobby and our individual room were in the older, main building and our friends were in the newer rooms. My room was very small but so quaint! I let myself envision old-school celebrities staying in my very room! Building and room were kept clean and both are seemingly authentic. Plenty of hangers but limited drawer space. Our friends room was larger and newer but I enjoyed the intimacy of our room. The restaurant and the bar in the lobby are wonderful. I would recommend either or both!

I woke up at around 1:00 AM on October 8th to the phone ringing and a smoke filled room. We knew we had to leave as soon as possible. The wildfire had started at the bottom of the mountain where I live. My friend who was staying with me and I hurriedly packed a bag, and collected my two small dogs. But before we got into the car I called the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn. The said they had a room available for us (their last room). I told them I most definitely wanted it and that I was on my way. They said okay. When we arrived at the hotel after a scary drive down off the mountain (red horizon (Nuns Fire) to the left and open flames (the beginning of the Tubbs Fire) on the right (we weren't even sure we'd be able to make it down) we were told in an extremely callous and uncaring way that their computers roll over to an expired status at 1:30 AM so they had given the room away to someone else. The managers / people in the back office refused to speak to me at all. There was no other hotel availability in the area and no place for us to go. I could not believe what the hotel had done to us and how uncaring they were. I will never forget.
