Anse Chastanet is the perfect getaway for couples or a family. The location is away from everything and allows you to completely disengage from your daily life and fully immerse yourself in all that Saint Lucia and Anse Chastanet has to offer. Few things to mention that are important to know. 1) The last 2 mile driveway into Anse Chastanet is on unpaved road. Some Taxi Drivers avoid that driveway but it really is not bad. Some of the rooms which has beautiful views of the mountains and the sea do not have Air Conditioning and TVs. Because of the height and location I do not believe an AC is needed but for some that may be a concern. There is no pool at Anse Chastanet but really, with the ocean that is as calm and more beautiful than any pool I do not think you will mind or miss the pool. The staff was beyond friendly and super helfpful! In particular I would like to call out their 2 Night Chef's Shaun Alphonse and Frank who made some unbelieveable dishes that were out of this world and were more than willing to accommodate personal requests without question, issue or concern. I asked if they were able to make some traditional local dishes that I knew and they were more than happy to accommodate. When I tell you the chef's were amazing that is no understatement. The wait staff at the dining areas were also SUPER cool and really helpful as well. They have an awesome snorkeling area on the left and right side of the private beach which my 11 year old said was "awesome!" They provided us with all of the gear we needed. There were also paddle boards and canoes if you are into that sort of thing. I would say overall a 5 star resort that gives you a very personal touch and feel with a great amount of privacy. I would definitely recommend to anyone and would go back in a heartbeat. Also, they are nicely located to a lot of things a tourist would be interested in seeing.

What a great place. Foodies delight & the staff were really helpful & friendly. Only comment is as it is built on a hillside, quite a few steps to deal with every day. Overall one of the best in the area.

‭‭Anne Chastanet is not perfect, far from it. The complex is dated. The price of food and drinks is inexplicably (and ridiculously!) high and once there, there is no escaping. The road out is too torturous and the streets of Soufriere we drove through to get to the hotel would not exactly feature in any of St Lucia's tourism brochures. The rooms at Anse Chastanet are perched up high in the rain forest and are open, without windows. The rooms are designed around nature, ours accommodated a large tree growing in the bathroom, going trough the ceiling and towering high over the building. It is really charming. The initial cuteness of the singing frogs/toads soon turns into reality: they are like hundreds of fire alarms needing a battery change, ringing from dusk to dawn. You'll fantasise on how best to kill them. The mosquitos have ninja skills and will navigate closed bed nets, ignore generously applied body sprays and feast on you (Zika is reported in StL and "enhanced precaution" is required). An open lodge in a rain forest sounds fun, the reality is less so. Bring ear plugs and industrial strength anti mosquito sprays. The place has an authentic feel that is difficult to dislike though. It is not a sleek resort with a manufactured atmosphere. Our room had a beautiful view of the sunset over the Caribbean Sea. Most of the staff are lovely (Junior, Abo & Vanessa spring to mind) and make you feel glad to be there. The beach is great and well equipped with good sun beds and plenty of water sports activities and finally the snorkelling is good. We'll leave the place feeling tired and frankly ripped off but having had a good time nonetheless. I am now looking forward to a very good night sleep in the comparatively quiet and very cheap London!

Anse Chastanet is a beautiful resort that is relaxing and a great place to recharge your batteries. The resort has a fantastice dive operation (Scuba St. Lucia), which I have rated and written a review for independently of the resort. They offer other water sports, tennis, mountain bike riding, hiking, tours, and other various excursions. The location of the resort is terrific for diving because some of the best dive sites on the island are within 15 minute boat rides. The resort offers a few different restaurants that will accommodate most people. There is a beachside restaurant and bar that has different menus for lunch and dinner. The dinner menu offers variations of Indian and Caribbean influenced dishes, and offers amazing naan. Mid mountain is where the international restaurant is located as well as a vegetarian restaurant. The upper resort, home to Jade Mountain offers an upscale restaurant with phenomenal views as the backdrop. All the food served at Anse Chastanet is excellent regardless of which restaurant you choose. The biggest problem is the wait for your food can sometimes be enormous. I'm used to "island time," however waiting up to 2 hours after you've ordered is a little extreme. Twice while I was there the wait was horrible, which is probably the main reason why this review is only 4 out of 5. The other problem is that I originally found Anse Chastanet thru searches for "All Inclusive" resorts. However, Anse Chastanet is not truly all inclusive and there are quite a few extra charges. Some people have complained about the amount of steps at the resort, but they do offer shuttles to move you around, and for our mother, not only were they accommodating but incredibly friendly and sweet to her. The spa is nice, but like many other places can truly only be graded based on the massage therapists working there. I had one massage that was amazing, and another that was just so-so. Rooms are varied and can have lots of steps, or none at all. The Beach rooms are the only ones that offer AC. Jade Mountain rooms have no 4th wall, which offer wonderful views, but also can be quite loud since the frogs and other wildlife sounds are right there. Overall, Anse Chastanet is a very nice resort and great for SCUBA groups.

Our stay at Anse Chastanet was a great one!. The beach and Caribbean with its warm water and gentle waves were the highlight. Anse is lucky in that they are situated in a cove, so the water is always fairly peaceful. There is also another even more private beach a close walk away as part of the amenities at the resort. There is plenty to do there from snorkeling to scuba, mountain biking to hiking and many free mini classes like rum mixology and Creole history to take advantage of. The meals and service from the dining options (4) to housekeeping were fabulous. The staff is always warm, welcoming and friendly and willing to help with your every need. Be cautious of how you plan your packages however, because many amenities have high price add-ons. Decide what matters to you, otherwise you might be shocked at your final bill! We did end up requesting a floor fan to help with sleeping at night. Our room didn't have air conditioning and the fan helped with the humid air.
