We fell in love with the place the moment we stepped out of the car. I have never stayed at a resort that is so much in harmony with its natural surroundings. The room had fantastic views of the sea and the forest and waking up to the dawn chorus of the birds and going to sleep accompanied by crickets and tree frogs was magical. The service was friendly and low key and the quality and variety of the food at each of the restaurants was excellent. There are two excellent beaches connected by water taxi or an easy 15 minutes walk apart and as advertised the burgers at Anse Mamin were the best! If you get a chance try to visit the Emerald Farm where you can see where most of the fresh vegetables, herbs and fruits used in the restaurants are grown.

Romantic, peaceful and the best food I've had. Only thing to note is that beach villas are in a garden setting with no view of the beach. Great views from hillside rooms but a very steep climb in the heat or a shuttle ride by the hotel. Beach villas have great access and are charmingly equipped. Great holiday and I hope to go back.

This place wins hands down on being picturesque. They do a wonderful job of creating a secluded feeling in the jungle. As far as resorts go, this is the opposite of Sandals, so if Sandals sounds like your thing, Anse Chastanet won't be. The staff were almost universally nice and happy to be working there. You will also walk off anything you eat since it's a bit of a hike back to your room (there is a complimentary shuttle should you need it), and it's worth noting that this place (heck, most of the island) isn't ADA. This place is absolute low-key paradise.

From the moment we arrived, it was clear we had arrived at a special place.. Our room was picturesque and had a wonderful view of the ocean. Fresh flowers throughout the room and a very comfortable bed. We were a bit warm (No AC except for the beach rooms) and when we told the manager, they were incredibly accommodating and offered us a room with AC and also offered us an amazing , large , breezy room which had 2 decks and panoramic views. It was clear that the employees wanted to make sure we were happy and went above and beyond! Room 7-E was heavenly. ( and breezy) Jenelle, Monica, Ryan, Jovan, John Paul , Junior and everyone else at this resort was fabulous and really made our stay special. The food was truly gourmet ( which is extraordinary for the Caribbean) and there were so many extraordinary touches- mid-morning butlered fruit skewers on the beach, late afternoon cold lemongrass towels and eucalyptus spritzer to cool off by smiling beach angel who goes by Junior. The snorkeling off of the beach was incredible. The only caveat is that the beauty of this place is partially due to the fact that it is set on a hillside , which means many, many steps. However , there are frequent shuttles for those who do not wish to walk. Overall , this is a memorable spot and we will be back! • Stayed April 2017, traveled as a couple

Having read some of the reviews for ANSE, we arrived with a little trepidation! Yes the road leading to the resort is GHASTLY, think of it as a fairground ride , and it will end ! the journey is well worth it for this amazing resort. The bedroom was stunning 12B ( in a local Caribbean way ) and all our concerns about no air con were unsubstantiated , our four poster swathed in netting and with fans made for a cool and very romantic room, the bed was super comfy and we honestly slept so well. Listening to the tree frogs and wildlife was magical. Feeding the birds with banana muffin at dawn was one of my favourite memories. Room was so clean and turn down re cleaned and refreshed every night . We had a beautiful living room, and views over the rainforest and ocean , again all cooled by fans . The resort is not your standard 5 star, and will take you a day or so to ‘get it’ , it truly a very very special place, yes there are steps , yes it is a small hike up to your room, but when you are sitting among the tree tops looking at the sunset its worth it ... also a shuttle is only a phone call away. What makes this place even more amazing is the service, its truly seamless and exceptional , there are at least 3 staff for every guest and nothing is too much trouble , service with a genuine smile, being recognised and greeted at every occasion. The food is exceptional, we were on an AI package which was outstanding, they only thing we were not allowed was champagne and vintage spirits. The beach food and the Jungle Bar produced really good food, all with the wave of a flag , bought to you by lovely staff. The beach staff were so attentive that as you walked on the beach they were ready with towel for you to cover the super thick padded loungers. Go on the jazzy cruise , if only for the Saxophone player ... One last thumbs up is for the spa – treat yourself to one of the massages ! worth every penny ! In short we felt pampered, and fell in love with this amazing place ....its a true get away from it all holiday ( no telephone , no TV , but good WIFI ) and life slows to Caribbean pace - we will be back !
