About the Hotel

From silvery sands for sunset strolls, to entire walls opening onto the great outdoors, luxury is in the details at Anse Chastanet. The estate encompasses 600 lush tropical acres bordering two soft sand beaches. Not only do you get a World Heritage Site anchored by the twin peaks on land, the resort’s two crystal-clear bays are part of a designated marine reserve protecting miles of colorful coral reefs teeming with tropical fish. A dozen rooms are tucked in behind the coconut palms that line the beach and the remainder tiptoe up a flower decked hillside. To make the most of the panoramic views and the refreshing tradewinds octagonal whitewashed cottages come with wraparound flower draped balconies and louvered windows. ANSE CHASTANET is St. Lucia's only resort property with the iconic view of both the Piti and Gros Piton mountains floating upon the Caribbean Sea. The location of the property is unsurpassed, a private estate of 600 lush tropical acres bordering two soft-sand Caribbean beaches with pristine coral reefs just offshore. The resort property includes the historical plantation of Anse Mamin and Emerald Estate where the resort grows its own organic produce.

Nice place

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 22 hours ago

All i had read about seen about the road in was true…. Sooo slow and bumpy. Took about 1hr15 from airport. Welcome was warm room was ready . Sunsets amazing from room 5B and views over the pitons.well appointed room large. Fans were fine no need for aircon as the breeze is nice. No glass in windows just slatted with mosquitoe netting hence a nice flow of air. Fridge with water replaced daily, kettle and coffe and creamer. No drawers for storage just hanging space and a few shelves. Bathroom had big shower but water pressure was not great at all. 2 sinks and plenty of space for toiletries. Nice smellier provided. Uk plugs so didn’t need chargers. Steep hill down and up from rooms to breakfast restaurant.lovely staff and good breakfast buffet and à la carte. Lots of steps down to beach but easy to call shuttle to take you up and down to beach no issue at all. The beach staff were lovely. Towels provided and very comfortable sunbeds and parasols.the beach is volcanic so slightly grey , no coral or shells to forage for .snorkelling was ok .saw turtles just off the beach just eating the seagrass . There is a special snorkelling area roped off at one end by the jetty. My husband went on lots of dives as the dive centre was on site. He said they were good seeing quite a lot of unusual creatures . We got fruit sticks brought round in the morning by staff. Spritzed with lemongrass and eucalyptus and cold towels in the afternoon and offers of ice lollies too( nice touch).my biggest issue ( which I’m told the hotel cannot stop) is the constant arrival of small boatloads of tourists coming to snorkel then park themselves in and around your sun beds, from around 1130-2-30 daily, and filling up the bar and restaurant.I never I could leave my stuff without worrying about it. Sundays are party boat trip days , big catamarans with really loud music go to and fro from other areas. Not as relaxing as I was expecting.we were told they were stopping the boats from coming to the jetty and getting them to go to another further away…… that did not happen while we were visiting.Im sure this won’t put some people off but its just worth noting . It’s my personal honest review. Food was good, in both restaurants and beach bars.Took boat to Soufriere, waste of time absolutely nothing in the small town.walked to beach round the corner for the … excellent burgers.cocktail rum tasting with Parker was excellent.the art session was good. We did the trip to the estate which was very interesting and the cacao trees then tasted passion fruit beer ( actually Yumm) and did chocolate experience with daniel( he is amazing, clever , talented , a true chocolatier.)They need to make cacao sparkling water please. It’s soo good the next big thing. Got bitten by a few bugs but not bad. They mist the resort on a Thursday afternoon . So a great tip overall, thank you staff .

This is paradise! ☀️

This is paradise! It doesn't take long to unwind and relax here, with the friendliest of staff with nothing being too much trouble and the food is delicious! The south of the island in my opinion is so lush with great places to explore or you could just stay and sunbathe, whatever your choosing! We hope to come back! Thank you so much 🧡

Beautiful Beach, Great Snorkeling

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

We stayed at Anse Chastanet recently for our 3rd visit. Its just perfect for us - we love the snorkeling, right off the beach, anytime you want. We brought a waterproof camera with us this year and got some good pictures. The water was unusually choppy a few days, but settled on others. Bring a noodle to float with while snorkeling - they are extremely light in the luggage. Dont touch the float ropes in the snorkeling areas - tiny hydroids that live on the ropes will sting you. Vinegar helps. The beaches are huge and quite lovely. Cruise ships/day trip boats etc drop off folks to snorkel or enjoy the public beach, and it can get a little crowded if several are there at once. Most often, the beach was fairly empty, and there were always plenty of comfy loungers and umbrellas for resort guests. The burgers at the Mamin beach are delicious! I never heard a jet ski : ), but a very few party boats played a little loudly as they passed by. We stayed in the Beachfront rooms, but spent one night in the 'Treehouse' an upper unit with a large tree growing in the shower. The room was very nice and had a view, but we were happy to get back down to the beach level. I have arthritic feet and a bad back, so appreciate being down at the beach level with the restaurant/bar nearby. Anytime we wanted to eat dinner at the upper level, we just called for a ride on the phone provided for that. We enjoyed several activities this trip - the Lionfish Dinner on the beach (it tastes like most white fleshed fish, but the 5 courses were all very good), a trip to Emerald Farm (and brewery and bee hives) to see the fruits, veggies, herbs and flowers that are grown for the resort was very good. Birdwatching with Meno was excellent (there are 12 miles of trails in the jungle/old plantation area next to resort), and we enjoyed the Spice/cooking class (thanks, chefs) and our resulting meal was delicious. Art class was fun, and we also purchased a painting from the art gallery. Food was delicious, and choices plentiful (it was all good, but rack of lamb was our favorite). Local beer - dont miss the chocolate stout made at Emeralds. We had no dietary issues, but allergies and gluten were addressed, and there were lots of vegan options. Service was great and prompt, everyone was friendly. Our room was well cleaned and had everything we could need. We love that much of the furniture and tablecloths, uniforms, etc are produced locally. Nightly entertainment was varied and all very good, but the resort is quiet by 10 p.m. most nights, which is nice after a full day of sun and fun. Look elsewhere for a rowdy resort. The road into the resort is very rough, but ask for a careful, slow driver for that and its not that big of a drawback (the upgrade from standard to luxury car certainly helps too). We enjoyed the ride from the airport on local roads with a knowlegable driver, through various parts of St Lucia - but helicopter rides are available if you'd prefer to skip that. If you prefer a large pool over the ocean, there are only small pools for 2 with some of the upper rooms. Older children are allowed, but there are generally very few, if any. The beach rooms have A/c in the bedroom area, and open air patios for a kitchenette and living space. The upper rooms have views, but no A/c, with sea breezes and plenty of fans in the open air rooms. Mosquito netting is on all beds. There is beautiful carving throughout the resort (railings, support posts, and many individual pieces), and also a large collection of paintings in the guest rooms and public areas. If you are looking for a laid back resort with 2 beautiful beaches, great snorkeling, varied activities (or just relaxing if you prefer), and excellent food and service, this is heavenly.

Beautiful hotel that's in a great location. Amazing beach and equally amazing snorkeling right on the property. Food is top notch. The employees were all very friendly and went out of there way to provide Gluten Free options for my kids. I can't wait to come back next year

Prepared to be treated like scum

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We walked to both beaches and were told …. “You can’t have a beach bed or shade as the we’re too busy”… total rubbish and unwelcoming … there were at least 40 beds available. We sat there on sand for several hours and none used …not welcoming, nor commercial …don’t go to ther beach unless you are prepared to be treated like scum. We were also heckled by the stall owner staff and told to lie on the sand…. Should call this beach Anse ChastaNOT

“Great service, authentic island feel, perfect spot for snorkeling (guests from other hotels come here to snorkel and dive), & Anse Mamin has the best burger ever!”

We traveled to St. Lucia and stayed at Anse Chasanet - it was wonderful. Our suite, built on a mountain, was completely open yet very private. There were no phones or TVs to distract from the area's true beauty. It truly made our honeymoon more memorable. I would highly recommend Anse Chasanet to all future honeymooners!
