About the Hotel

From silvery sands for sunset strolls, to entire walls opening onto the great outdoors, luxury is in the details at Anse Chastanet. The estate encompasses 600 lush tropical acres bordering two soft sand beaches. Not only do you get a World Heritage Site anchored by the twin peaks on land, the resort’s two crystal-clear bays are part of a designated marine reserve protecting miles of colorful coral reefs teeming with tropical fish. A dozen rooms are tucked in behind the coconut palms that line the beach and the remainder tiptoe up a flower decked hillside. To make the most of the panoramic views and the refreshing tradewinds octagonal whitewashed cottages come with wraparound flower draped balconies and louvered windows. ANSE CHASTANET is St. Lucia's only resort property with the iconic view of both the Piti and Gros Piton mountains floating upon the Caribbean Sea. The location of the property is unsurpassed, a private estate of 600 lush tropical acres bordering two soft-sand Caribbean beaches with pristine coral reefs just offshore. The resort property includes the historical plantation of Anse Mamin and Emerald Estate where the resort grows its own organic produce.

Reviews for Anse Chastanet

A beautiful place with beautiful people.

We spent a week at Anse Chastenet choosing a standard room to enable us to have the budget to do as much as we wanted. In such an amazing place who wants to spend all day in the room! It was wonderful. The room/suite was large, immaculate and very comfortable. A huge bathroom and simply everything had been thought of and provided, even mosquito spray but truly they were not a problem. There was no air con but huge ceiling fans in both bedroom/bathroom plus two others electric fans. A fridge was stocked daily and we had local banana cake left as a welcome along with local rum plus a gorgeous syrup to have with it. All of this and a wonderful view of the Pitons one way and the ocean the other. I can only imagine how incredible the top standard rooms were. This resort is set on many different levels which just makes it all the more interesting and gives it an intimate feel. Yes there are a LOT of steps but you can just ask for a shuttle at anytime if you wish, in fact upon check in you are given a mobile phone that is yours for the duration of your stay for any needs you may have. I don’t want to go into detail about everything because you really have to experience it. Different restaurants across the resort where food is consistently good and presented to a very high level. Service is brilliant with the exceptional Caribbean warmth and hospitality . I must make a special mention to Chef Shawn and team at the Grill for an incredible steak meal. The beaches are beautiful with first class sunbeds/parasols and incredible beach service with good beach grills for lunch. Take a short 10 min stroll to Anse Mamin beach, smaller quieter, softer sand and great food. The grounds/gardens are beautiful and very well cared for. The very lovely guest services are available daily and I strongly recommend that you check out what is on offer and explore this beautiful island. We felt extremely safe and welcome wherever we went. The credentials of this resort are also to be commended. It is exceptionally well run, stunning, relaxed, top class, and simply had something for everyone. JUST GO!!!!!!!

Wonderful Anse Chastanet

We have been to Anse Chastanet several times over many years. It continues to draw us in. We love living up in the tree canopy with the open air. We love the road in, the steps to the beach. We loved the welcome back we received from so many staff working in all areas of the hotel. We love the birds, 21 pelicans, roosting above the dive centre, 4 turtles on a snorkel from the beach and this year a whale breaching in front of the hotel which got everyone buzzing. Lovely improvements everywhere. A big swimming area, beach toilets, colourful painting. If all this appeals to you then I recommend this hotel. We will return

Ultimate experience. From the staff to the facilities.

First class! Every employee had a smile on their face and welcomed us. The food was exquisite, chef prepared and the presentation was impeccable. All rooms were separate and no noise was ever heard. Ground keepers swept the entire place daily, and there are a lot of grounds. We went for the diving and the whole staff was very professional. We're 75 and they treated use with the utmost respect and guidance. I would definitely go back.

Stunning place and incredible service. Nothing is too much trouble. Discreet and extremely helpful staff. Make the most of all the activities on offer at concierge/guest services. Whatever you do you are taken care of by highly trained staff. We did jungle biking, sailing, snorkelling and always felt safe and looked after.

4th visit and just as evocative

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

This is now our 4th visit to Anse Chastanet, so I'd say we're well-qualified to comment on the place. I did a full review in July 2011, so won't repeat that, as a lot of it is unchanged - the lovely staff, the great facilities, the beautiful surroundings... and the rooms, open to the forest and sounds of birds in the morning and tree frogs at night! On this visit, we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a deluxe room with huge balcony offering panoramic views of the Pitons & sea. However, having experienced several rooms, they are all great - don't worry about that, you'll still get a great experience, and you'll spend most of your time away from the rooms anyway. As I said in 2011, the hotel can be a challenge as access involves climbing steps - however, you can instead call the air-conditioned shuttle buses. The changes on this visit, I think the food has got better - it's more flavoursome, with some great choices, including a menu that changes daily in Balawoo, and a reasonable Indian-influenced menu at Apsara. The beach lunchtime menu items are delicious. A lot of the food involves fish and fresh vegetables / salad, so you can dine well but healthy here. Also on this visit, I was delighted to see that they've roped-off a large section of the bay, and added floating pontoons up to the pier - for a sea swimmer, this is great, I had the confidence to do long boat traffic-free swims. Much of this section is also great for snorkelling, and you can confidently head out to deeper water to search for turtles on the sea grass. The Anse Mamin beach facilities have also developed - you can easily spend a day there, with sun loungers, restaurant, bar, nice (and again, swimmable) beach and sea, and nearby entrance to the plantation for some great walks or cycle rides (the trails are safe for both). So overall, we are just as, if not more happy with Anse Chastanet. It's not cheap, and it's not a short transit from UK. But it's definitely worth it if you want a peaceful, natural place, great food, plenty of excursions, and great watersports (each time I've done some good scuba diving - I have 500+ dives and have experiences some of the best diving in the world - I'd rate this diving as 'good and easy' - great for a holiday with diving an added bonus). Well done Anse Chastanet, and in particular, well done to the lovely staff, who you will find helpful, chatty, and content x

“Great service, authentic island feel, perfect spot for snorkeling (guests from other hotels come here to snorkel and dive), & Anse Mamin has the best burger ever!”

We traveled to St. Lucia and stayed at Anse Chasanet - it was wonderful. Our suite, built on a mountain, was completely open yet very private. There were no phones or TVs to distract from the area's true beauty. It truly made our honeymoon more memorable. I would highly recommend Anse Chasanet to all future honeymooners!
