About the Hotel

What was once a 16th-century working plantation is now an eco-friendly Caribbean hideaway that pays homage to its storied past. Fond Doux Plantation & Resort, located on the island of Saint Lucia, in the historical center and UNESCO World Heritage Site of Soufrière. The tidy wooden cottages, many cloaked in a crisp white hue, dot the tropical retreat and provide a space for guests to lounge on front porches and enjoy the lush scenery and foliage. Interiors are equally charming, with a blanket of wooden planks coating the floor, rattan furnishings and broad French doors that push open to marry the indoors with the outside.

Hidden Gem of St. Lucia

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 9 hours ago

This place is a hidden Gem in St. Lucia. The pictures posted on the website do not give this place justice. When you first arrive, it gives ummm Once you come thru the gates, it turns into this place amazingly beautiful, lush modern paradise. You're greeted with a refreshing drink and a small tour of your home away from home. The historical story and full circle moments will have you on amazement at every corner. The staff makes you feel like the family reunion you can't wait to attend every year. Always will to accommodate you at every turn. Polite, professional, friendly, and funny as heck. We really enjoyed Mrs. Jenny, Gianna, Adel, Dora, Shamara, and our bartender Gienwene. They are amazing people all the way around. Our cottage Treehouse was awesome it came with an infinity pool. The setup was on top of the tier. Outide shower with sink to rinse your swim wear. The bathroom was separate. Love that. Bed is antique with the four pliers but soft and so comfortable. You can do 3 excursions on the property. Hiking the petite piton. Once you get to the top, the view is amazing. We did the historical tour with Clinton, which is very knowledgeable about the property. We missed the chocolate tour, but from my understanding, it's great. Plus, you're able to see the coco beans being roasted n chopped, ready for mixing. Shout out to the chef, Chris. Every dish he made was a kiss. I ate everything on my plate with no complaints. This resort does not treat you like a room number. They are personable and detailed oriented. I have already recommended this place to 7 people. We can't wait to visit again. Oh, and Rio is every womens bodyguard. Hidden gem

Great St Lucia Resort

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

We had an amazing time, and so glad we found this perfect resort on St Lucia. Nothing pretentious, but straight across top-scores in every category. Accommodations were so comfortable and clean. Bungalows are kept up to date, and maintained that touch of the classic upscale plantation feel. The jungle is all around and each room is completely private surrounded by tropical gardens. We had discovered some bees starting to gather outside our bungalow, and they immediately had the beekeeper come. They moved our luggage and upgraded us to their premium room at no cost for the remainder of our stay. We enjoyed getting to know the staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We felt like they all genuinely enjoyed being there as part of the resort. Everyone we interacted with was courteous and took great care of us. We want to specifically mention these wonderful staff members: Jenny, Benjamin, Dora, Shine, and the Bee man. Food was perfect. Not extravagant or excessively over the top - what they offer fits perfectly with the eco resort’s theme and purpose. We didn’t eat lunch (we were normally away from the property) but we enjoyed our included breakfast (with cooked-to-order eggs) and dinners daily. A smallish dinner menu, but plenty of variety for a weeks long stay. All the dishes we had were delicious. The 3 small pools were not heavily used, probably because there are so many rooms with plunge pools. We never had problems finding available chairs. We enjoyed spending a few hours each day at the pool, meeting other guests and browsing the extensive reading library. Overall, we give this resort, and our stay, 5 stars. Thank you for hosting us for a wonderful tropical vacation on St Lucia.

A unique, beautiful resort: superb accommodation, lovely staff and great restaurants

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

We loved this unique resort. The cottages are very comfortable, the bars and restaurants are great and the staff are friendly, efficient and helpful. The historic plantation, where we watched chocolate being made, is fascinating. The extensive grounds have been turned into a stunningly beautiful botanical garden, full of local fruit trees, shrubs and flowers, with the cocoa trees spread amongst them. The benefits of the organic methods can be seen in the abundant wildlife - the hummingbirds were our favourites. The historic plantation buildings have been maintained sympathetically and give the resort a real feeling of charm. There are several walks around the estate and the knowledgable staff can provide guided tours. The cottages are in the traditional local style, with a large balcony where we were able to sit and enjoy the view. They are well furnished and the beds are very comfortable. There are two restaurants (The Bamboo and The Creole Pot) which serve really tasty local dishes mixed with more international fare. We enjoyed some excellent meals here - as good as any in the area. Portions are generous, so bring your appetite! At the weekend they provide a buffet with local singers. The reception staff are able to organise taxis to local attractions and third party tours. This was always extremely efficient - everyone was punctual and we were never let down. It is clear that they know the most reliable operators in the area which made everything hassle-free. We enjoyed every one of our 12 days here.

Excellent Staff, Comfortable Cottages, and Delicious Food

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

This place is simply lovely!!! The staff was incredibly friendly, the food was delicious, and the cabin was comfortable and romantic. My wife and I decided to celebrate our first anniversary here and we loved every minute of our stay at Fond Doux Eco Resort. On our anniversary, the staff even surprised us with a bottle of wine, some chocolate and a message written in rose petals. In addition to that, the staff (specifically Jenny) was incredibly helpful in organizing all of our activities. When we arrived I told her we wanted to get a massage, go scuba diving, and do some hiking....and then next thing I know, she had organized it all for us, including transportation. It was such a time saver and we had a great experience. I strongly recommend staying here if you are looking for a chance to connect with nature but still feel comfortable and relaxed.

A wonderful, relaxing stay!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

My husband and I stayed at Fond Doux for 8 nights and have had the most incredible time, we are already talking about planning a trip back here one day. Every single member of staff has been wonderful, so helpful and warm and patient with all our questions & requests! Our cottage was amazing, very private and a peaceful place to relax. The outdoor shower was a particular highlight! We also enjoyed eating at Bamboo Restaurant - great food and atmosphere. We’d particularly recommend hiking the Petit Piton Nature Trail during your stay - it starts and ends within the resort and leads to stunning views of Petit Piton. Be sure to go at sunset and you may see fireflies lighting up the forest! Overall, the attention to detail, the immersion in nature and the beauty of this place has made our stay unforgettable. Thank you to all the staff at Fond Doux!
