Jade Mountain in Soufriere, Saint Lucia

At Jade Mountain, owner Nick Troubetzkoy’s spacious, open-air sanctuaries sit high atop cliffs with the island’s only view of both the Piti & Gros Pitons. These coral-tiled spaces, accented in locally quarried stone, feature 20 different species of tropical hardwood flooring hand-picked from the rain forest of Guyana. Luxurious spa treatments from the resort’s boutique spa Kai en Ciel (House In Heaven) utilize 5,000-year-old Indian Ayurvedic traditions. The Jade Mountain Club Restaurant wraps around a colorful infinity pool and dishes up the creations of award-winning chef Allen Susser. Produce, fruit, and cocoa beans are manufactured on the resort’s organic Emerald Estate farm, an old 18th century sugarcane plantation. With over 1,000 cocoa trees, the resort offers in-house chocolate manufacturing, allowing guests to sample chef creations, sip on chocolate-infused cocktails, and even try their hand at creating their own chocolate delicacy.

Dive into the inviting green waters of the Caribbean and snorkel alongside pristine coral reefs. Cruise out on the ocean aboard the resort’s yacht or 60 foot catamaran. Indulge in the chocolate laboratory and create your own decadent truffles. Feast on the refreshing and organic mango & papaya creations of Allen Susser from your private enclave on Anse Mamin beach. Unwind with a romantic Alchemy Of Two spa treatment before soaking in your private infinity pool.

I initially struggled with the price point- but I have to say it was worth every dollar. It is hard to articulate how a man-made structure so impressively and appropriately melds into the natural beauty of the St. Lucia environment. Highest marks for hospitality, food (amazing), and amenities. The room was so fantastic that I only left for one afternoon - despite other local attractions.

Jade is truly unique. After a 1-hour ride from the airport, the last mile along the bumpy old French Road, we were warmly greeted by name with a cold drink & scented towels by the manager & staff. There are only 24 "santuaries." Each one is unique. So, one is among a small group. Nearly each one has a bridge (of sorts) leadng to the heavy wooden entries. The "open" floor plan with no 4th wall and infinity pool is fantastic allowing for a sumptuous vista and constant flow of fresh air. Although I usually insist on air conditioning, it was not needed. Our "major Domo" (Teddy), a highly trained butler, familiarized us with the amenities, etc., and attended to our every need. One receives a cellphone to contact the domo. The rooms are so very comfortable. The bed is turned down each night & has effective mosquito netting. Candles each night add to the coziness. One gets accustomed to the open bathroom and great shower and separate jaccuzzi tub. Dining at Jade is truly gourmet! The fresh fish and presentation along with a terrific wine selection are top notch. Coffee drinkers will love the in-room Illy machines and the restaurant has expresso/cappacino, and lattes! The view of the Pitons and sea is fantastic and only bettered by the brilliant night time sky. Seems one can see every star in the universe. The guests, down the hill, at Anse Chastenet, are asked not to come to Jade. But, Jade guests may frequent any of the latter's facilities. Jade's spa is amazingly relaxing and must be tried. We found all the employees so very friendly, almost without exception. Jade (and much of Anse Chastenet) is up a hill-- some folks do walk uphill, but a shuttle is always quickly available. We went SCUBA diving with the on-site operator. They were very helpful and so friendly. Thanks to Charlotte and the other dive masters for helping us enjoy the many dives. [I would not recommend diving if you have any unhealed cuts or abrasions]. The facility could use better rinsing/clean-up water. The boats were not crowded and the DM-guest ratio was perfect. We were impressed by their safety and professionalism. St Lucia has awesome sea life! The beach is comparatively somewhat small, but there is so much to do otherwise. We have taken annual Caribbean dive trips for 25 years but had been a bit reluctant to vacation at Jade because of the relatively high expense--but, it was very well worth it!

When i arrived i said Woooaaouuu and i think i said this word maybe 10 times/Minute to be honest JADE MOUNTAIN is the most stunning hĂ´tel i've ever seen by now. This location is very particular, the view, the sanctuary, the design of all the architecture, this infinity pool inside the sanctuary totally open and offer a wonderful view of the piton. I was frustrated to be here alone for business it's definitely a perfect resorts for couples, very intimate. Now let's talk about food...very fresh home made i mean they produce many vegetables themselves same ditto for the chocolate and bread, i know this because i want to congrats the chef for my very fresh fish burger and he explain me this. i can write so much about jade mountain because i fell in love with the resort and i want to share this love with everyone. During my stay the is a wedding and trust me the pictures near the beach sound amazing. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this exclusive resort very authentic. Have to come back very soon with my partner and longer.

We had lunch here and would highly recommend . The food was the best we have had since being on the island and we have visited a few places . Prices were also relatively cheap comparing with other places locally. If you want to visit definitely visit at lunchtime to experience the views

I did quite a bit of research for our honeymoon, and I can say it absolutely paid off with choosing to go to Jade Mountain. It was an absolutely incredible resort with great staff, great food, and great amenities. First, I want to address the things that I have seen people complain about on here. Yes, it is crazy expensive. That is no secret. It is completely worth it though. We plan to go back at least once more. We did not have one issue with bugs while staying. They seemed to do a good job spraying, and the bug net with the bed helps. It does get a little warm at night, but that is to be expected, as it is outside. Now for the positives, which there are probably too many to name. The staff was excellent. From our major domo Filliner, to our waiter Dwight, to our sailing captain Kerwin, to Joevan our jungle bike tour guide, and the many, many others who were so kind on the trip, they are what makes this place special. Service was hands down the best I have ever had. The food was excellent. Extremely fresh, interesting meals, and very filling. I will say I highly recommend some sort of all inclusive plan, I am not sure how you could do it any other way. The amenities were great. The room was beautiful, the spa was relaxing, and the beach was great. All in all, if you want a unique, once-in-a-lifetime type vacation for a honeymoon or anniversary, this is absolutely the place to go. We loved our stay.
