Jade Mountain in Soufriere, Saint Lucia

At Jade Mountain, owner Nick Troubetzkoy’s spacious, open-air sanctuaries sit high atop cliffs with the island’s only view of both the Piti & Gros Pitons. These coral-tiled spaces, accented in locally quarried stone, feature 20 different species of tropical hardwood flooring hand-picked from the rain forest of Guyana. Luxurious spa treatments from the resort’s boutique spa Kai en Ciel (House In Heaven) utilize 5,000-year-old Indian Ayurvedic traditions. The Jade Mountain Club Restaurant wraps around a colorful infinity pool and dishes up the creations of award-winning chef Allen Susser. Produce, fruit, and cocoa beans are manufactured on the resort’s organic Emerald Estate farm, an old 18th century sugarcane plantation. With over 1,000 cocoa trees, the resort offers in-house chocolate manufacturing, allowing guests to sample chef creations, sip on chocolate-infused cocktails, and even try their hand at creating their own chocolate delicacy.

Dive into the inviting green waters of the Caribbean and snorkel alongside pristine coral reefs. Cruise out on the ocean aboard the resort’s yacht or 60 foot catamaran. Indulge in the chocolate laboratory and create your own decadent truffles. Feast on the refreshing and organic mango & papaya creations of Allen Susser from your private enclave on Anse Mamin beach. Unwind with a romantic Alchemy Of Two spa treatment before soaking in your private infinity pool.

We only had 2 nights at the resort but it was so special. Quiet, apart from the rainforest noise and background waves. Luxurious from the bedding to the bathroom and jacuzzi- a butler service for your every need. One of the most memorable meals we have had. A celestial terrace to marvel at the stars whilst enjoying a cocktail with live music filtering up the stairs. The only hassle is the road up to the place, which emphasises it's mountain retreat status. You also need to have good knees to navigate all the steps - or as they say - "stairways to heaven". Whether it's a wedding, anniversary or special holiday, this is undoubtedly a place where memories are made. The staff are the real heroes, as they bring the owners vision to life. I have never encountered so much resort information before world class. I only hope I get the opportunity to return or my kids get to.

What an amazing place. The whole story of how the hotel was built, the style, the being at one with the outdoors - just blew me away. My first impression was a big concrete building but then you really ‘see’ it. The beauty, just fascinating. The rooms are fabulous with our own private infinity pool, overlooking the sea and Piton Mountains - what a lovely view to wake up to. Great size room with everything you need. The staff were amazing, very helpful warm and friendly. It is so rare to just get that balance just right. We also had a butler on call 24 hours should a need arise. The food was great, I ate far too much as I just couldn't say no! I am very fussy about my massages but again thought the masseur was very good. Happily, would have gone back for another. We did not manage to stay on the beach, although it looked lovely, but we did go mountain bike riding which was good to burn off a few calories Some people do not like the long and very bumpy road on the way up and down, but this just adds to the uniqueness. It also helps keep the place quieter. The other option is to travel to the hotel by helicopter, we took the scenic route! If you don’t mind this then there are some nice trips to do locally including hiking up the piton mountains, botanical gardens, and other touristy things This is a fabulous place for a luxury well deserved break, honeymoon, or spending quality time with that special someone. I would also happily stay there on my own. Loved this place and just thinking when I may be able to go back – that’s a rare for me as I normally like to try different places but Jade Mountain really does have a special place in my heart!

We have gone to Jade Mountain in each of the last four years. There are a number of things that set it apart from most resorts, but of course it is the staff that makes the difference in addition to the stunning views. Do not come here if you like to sit in a square box of a room and watch TV at night. Here you can see the night sky and enjoy the breezes and listen to the tree frogs sing all from the comfort of your bed. The food is very good and if you decide not to leave your room they will bring you anything you want. Karolin keeps a close eye on operations to ensure all of her guests enjoy their stay and there are plenty of activities should you decide to leave your room. If your budget allows be sure to go in by helicopter from the airport to the resort - you will be there in 10 minutes after leaving the airport.

Surprisingly gaudi-ish design on the outside but total breath taking views on the inside of the room. Perfect place for honeymooners or couples wanting to reconnect. Food was quite good and beach is a hike down the hill and back. But worth the excercise and plunge pool in room after. We had a wonderful time even for just 3 nights. Can't forget the full service butlers/staff who are efficient/helpful as they are charming! One of a kind "tree house" place for those who are not affraid of stairs.

Ok let me start by saying that we are experienced travelers. Up to this time we felt that Bora Bora and Ravello, Italy were our fav places. Now Jade Mountain, St Lucia is our fav-hands down!! We first were booked into a sky room-don't waste your money on this room-closed in, smaller, no real view. Then we asked for an upgrade-we rec'd a sun sanctuary room with our own private pool, expansive view and open air room-fabulous! We have our own 24-hour private butler (complimentary) reachable by a phone that was issued to us. Filliner was one of our butlers-she delivered our dinner to our room twice (why leave?) and prepared the table with flowers, candles, so special!! We also purchased the half-board meal plan, worth it! The food is exquisite, gourmet! Breakfast and dinner is plenty. The beach is fabulous, warm water, calm, lots of water sports. Snorkeling amazing! Don't miss the jungle biking experience with Jovan-he is incredible! Lots of history and adventure. Also check out Brenda's hand-made products and local crafts on the beach. Her sister and aunt crochet and make amazing cover-ups and dolls for the little ones. This is truly a once in a lifetime trip!!
