Jade Mountain in Soufriere, Saint Lucia

At Jade Mountain, owner Nick Troubetzkoy’s spacious, open-air sanctuaries sit high atop cliffs with the island’s only view of both the Piti & Gros Pitons. These coral-tiled spaces, accented in locally quarried stone, feature 20 different species of tropical hardwood flooring hand-picked from the rain forest of Guyana. Luxurious spa treatments from the resort’s boutique spa Kai en Ciel (House In Heaven) utilize 5,000-year-old Indian Ayurvedic traditions. The Jade Mountain Club Restaurant wraps around a colorful infinity pool and dishes up the creations of award-winning chef Allen Susser. Produce, fruit, and cocoa beans are manufactured on the resort’s organic Emerald Estate farm, an old 18th century sugarcane plantation. With over 1,000 cocoa trees, the resort offers in-house chocolate manufacturing, allowing guests to sample chef creations, sip on chocolate-infused cocktails, and even try their hand at creating their own chocolate delicacy.

Dive into the inviting green waters of the Caribbean and snorkel alongside pristine coral reefs. Cruise out on the ocean aboard the resort’s yacht or 60 foot catamaran. Indulge in the chocolate laboratory and create your own decadent truffles. Feast on the refreshing and organic mango & papaya creations of Allen Susser from your private enclave on Anse Mamin beach. Unwind with a romantic Alchemy Of Two spa treatment before soaking in your private infinity pool.

Best honeymoon imaginable. From our Major Domo's, to the food, to the view of the Pitons from our infinity pool, to the beautiful beach down below, to the amazing hardworking and friendly staff and people of this beautiful island - this was the BEST vacation i have ever been on. It is worth EVERY penny.

Just returned from 6 days/5 nights with my wife celebrating our 20th Wedding Anniversary. We had booked a Star sanctuary--were upgraded upon arrival to a Sun Sanctuary. The service staff here is absolutely impeccable and the room absolutely exceeded all of our expectations. Won't repeat all of the other glowing reviews that others have mentioned. Just a couple things that we noticed--all beaches in St. Lucia are public beaches as we learned--including the (2) beaches available at Jade Mtn.---while the huts/towels/etc are all exclusive to resort guests---expect boats of other tourists to arrive/people from other resorts--who set up towels/etc---bring their own drinks/music to these beaches---a couple distracting incidents--but nothing major--when our peace and quiet were interrupted on the beach--we simply retreated to our sanctuary---which I found more appealing than the the beach to be quite honest. Other thing--in the (2) main restaurants---the 3/5 course meals---take a LONG time to get thru--we experienced (3) 2.5 hr. dinners---not that we were in a hurry--but this was a bit annoying---as I mentioned as well in the comments I left on our guest survey--the service in the restaurants (NOT the Bar---they were GREAT) was not on par with the service we received from major domo's/spa/beach bars--that needs to be improved in my opinion------food was absolutely outstanding and we ate at all locations in the resort including room service. We CANNOT wait to return--worth every $$ spent.

We had booked a week at Anse Chastanet, but upon arrival, were informed that a large group had come in and that they were upgrading us to Jade Mountain. We stayed in Sanctuary JF3, a beautiful room that had views that you never tire to look at. We loved the architecture of the hotel, the kindness of the staff and the food was excellent. Special thanks goes to Teddy and Davidson, our majodormos, for their attentiveness and who took care of all our demands with a smile, we were treated like royalty. A special thank you goes to Rita, manager of the Jade Mountain Club restaurant, who became a friend to us. Her outgoing personality and her love of what she does transpired in everything she accomplishes. We were always looking forward to seeing her again, and we will never forget her. She truly represents the spirit of what a five star hotel should be. We will never forget this special place, and who knows, we might make it back someday.

I'm not sure what I can add about this resort that hasn't been mentioned but I'll give it a shot. The resort is on a very bumpy road that takes about 20 minutes for the cab driver to navigate. This seemed intentional to keep the locals away. The road leads to the entrance to one of the walkways. It's pretty cool because you can't see any part of the resort or view until you get out of the car. Once you walk in it is absolutely amazing as the architecture of the building is so unique. We had a sun room, JE3, and when we checked in it was like walking into a postcard. Stunning, to say the least. The pool surprised me when I walked in and almost sunk to the bottom. We had just stayed at Sugar Beach and their plunge pool was not deep at all, and smaller. Expecting the same, I walked in and quickly realized this pool was much deeper. I'd say it's about 4 1/2 ft deep. Huge and felt like a real pool as it is about 900sq ft. I spent a ton of time in the pool during our stay because it is so relaxing with the view of the Pitons and how peaceful it is. I thought the pool wouldn't be a big deal but I have to say I can't imagine staying there without one. Not because it's not nice but I just feel we would be missing out in the full experience. The room has no a/c but it was not a concern at all. We slept like babies and there is a fan over the bed, which is elegantly covered in a mosquito net. There were birds flying in during our stay trying to get morsels if any food we ate. There is a water gun given to spray them but we loved having the birds around so no need to spray them for us. Butlers and staff were very prompt and efficient. They also stayed out of your way if you wanted privacy. The resort was very quiet as I'm sure a lot of guests stay in their rooms, especially the honeymooners. There was live music on one of the nights we were there and there was no need to go to where he was playing as there are no TV's or radios at the resort and it was like having our own show in the room because we could hear the music clearly, which was a good thing. Food at the resort was excellent and shuttles were provided, if desired, to the beach below at their sister property. The terrace upstairs is beautiful and provides a great picture opportunity at sunset. I've never taken so many pictures and videos at a resort but this resort is special. There is a book in the rooms with articles explaining the intricacies involved in building such a resort. Very interesting! There is a LOT of information at check in and several books in the room with the menus, excursions, and everything the resort has to offer. A little overwhelming and time consuming, to be honest, but that may be because we didn't stay for as many nights as most. Someone came by from the resort management at the end to ensure our stay was good and asked if we had suggestions on how they could improve. I believe they have it covered and it shows they are trained very well to provide a once in a lifetime experience. We've stayed at many top resorts throughout the US and overseas but and this resort is at the very top of the list. Truly magical and I doubt anyone would regret splurging for a a beautiful resort.

I fell in love...with not just a hotel but the architecture surrounding the experience which is Jade Mountain. It's stunning, a one off experience, it's so outrageously gorgeous it'll leave you speechless. We spent five nights at Sugar Beach then moved to JM for the remaining five nights of our holiday. We had booked the lowest level room at JM (a sky sanctuary?). It's great, no infinity pool, but it's huge. Alas (for our bank manager) we got greedy and decided to upgrade to a Moon Sanctuary as we wanted to experience all that JM could offer: that infinity pool! It was amazing, although we didn't really use it that often to justify the expense! I loved been in the open, wildlife flying in, totally been at one with nature and your surroundings. I was bitten ONCE by a mozzie. I did get a little sweaty - it was humid - and advice to women bring strong hair products and stay on make-up! There are shuttles to take you to the beach and up the restaurant and bar. I found wearing heels a little tricky as the ground isn't that even. The food at the restaurant is good but not as good at Sugar Beach (mind you breakfasts were far more original and delicious). Wines were very very very good - Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc anyone? My favourite tipple. Cocktails were cripplingly excellent: lemon drop martini, cosmo...all my fav girlie drinks! I was in a drunken heaven! We were all inclusive and it was perfect for us budding alcoholics. All inclusive also included room service and allegedly the service charge (10%) does go to the staff in the form of tips. Beach life is OK. I think it'd be nice if Jade Mountain had their own spot on the beach with comfy cabanas. Beach menu is very burger based. But all in all very blissful. And the sand is fine. Jade Mountain is a unique experience, the staff are supreme and the butlers are beautifully trained with English standards. I couldn't have asked for more. The downside is I'll never experience anywhere so magical again unless we return to the beauty of Jade Mountain...watch out Mr Bank Manager!
