Jade Mountain in Soufriere, Saint Lucia

At Jade Mountain, owner Nick Troubetzkoy’s spacious, open-air sanctuaries sit high atop cliffs with the island’s only view of both the Piti & Gros Pitons. These coral-tiled spaces, accented in locally quarried stone, feature 20 different species of tropical hardwood flooring hand-picked from the rain forest of Guyana. Luxurious spa treatments from the resort’s boutique spa Kai en Ciel (House In Heaven) utilize 5,000-year-old Indian Ayurvedic traditions. The Jade Mountain Club Restaurant wraps around a colorful infinity pool and dishes up the creations of award-winning chef Allen Susser. Produce, fruit, and cocoa beans are manufactured on the resort’s organic Emerald Estate farm, an old 18th century sugarcane plantation. With over 1,000 cocoa trees, the resort offers in-house chocolate manufacturing, allowing guests to sample chef creations, sip on chocolate-infused cocktails, and even try their hand at creating their own chocolate delicacy.

Dive into the inviting green waters of the Caribbean and snorkel alongside pristine coral reefs. Cruise out on the ocean aboard the resort’s yacht or 60 foot catamaran. Indulge in the chocolate laboratory and create your own decadent truffles. Feast on the refreshing and organic mango & papaya creations of Allen Susser from your private enclave on Anse Mamin beach. Unwind with a romantic Alchemy Of Two spa treatment before soaking in your private infinity pool.

This place is nothing but special! Words cannot express how spectacular it is! You are so taken care of by the staff and butlers. The rooms are to die for! We had the most amazing time and felt so pampered like royalty. We said when we came home that everyone deserves to experience this at least once in their life! The beaches are gorgeous and even while lying on the sand under a beach tree you are brought drinks, food, towels and fresh mist for your face! A few people that made our trip extra awesome were our butlers - Vito, Allain & Teclace. A bartender named Millan, a waiter named Cordell, a chef named Jonathan, a shuttle bus driver named Mervin, a boat captain named Garfield with his boat asst, Denzel, our snorkeling guide, Vita and another boat captain named Jungle. The wait staff and housekeeping were beyond incredible! Everyone is so loving, warm, kind and GOOD at what they do! Loved it and cannot wait to go back for longer!

This review is much delayed, but I figured better late than never. I visited Jade the end of December and because of the extremely high price, we spent one night at Jade Mountain for our year anniversary hoping it would be amazing. The room was amazing but the service was poor/mediocre. I read many reviews and expected it to be a great stay. We arrived and waited about an hour for our butler to bring us to our room. From the pamphlet description, Jade is known for its extraordinary butler service, but we did not get to experience it. Another butler ended up bringing us to our room and said our butler would arrive shortly with the cellphone, to make reservations, etc. The guy even told us that he would not explain how to use the coffee machine or anything because we should call our butler to help us. He also told us that they would come set up a romantic bath for us at night, but that never happened. We wanted to go to the beach but we waited for our butler to show up, yet he never did. We never received a cellphone. We ended up leaving the room to go to the beach after a couple hours and had to wander around to find someone to call us a shuttle. Once we arrived back to the room, we ordered room service. Instead of a butler showing up to help set up anything, the only people that showed up to our room were to deliver room service and to take our credit card info down. We had to ask the room service delivery guy for ice (had requested it on room service form and did not come with it) and it showed up over an hour later. For dinner, we ate at the hotel’s restaurant. The food was overpriced for the quality. We arrived back to our room after dinner, and spent the rest of the night in the room. Through our stay, the only time someone showed up to our room was to deliver the room service, take our credit card info, and ask us about checking out. The Wi-Fi was very slow. Although the pool was beautiful, it was freezing cold the entire time. Overall, the room is gorgeous and luxurious, but we felt very much neglected. We had no way of communicating with anyone at the resort. We did not get the opportunity to plan any excursions as we were told. We met our butler when he showed up to check us out, and said it was nice to see us again. Apparently, he did not realize he never met us. We received a beautiful room, but not the service the resort apparently promises its guests.

My husband and I recently spent four nights at Jade Mountain. We are already planning a return trip. We travel extensively and stay in upscale lodging, but this is the first time ever that I haven't wanted to leave the room. The Moon sanctuary was amazing. The view was magnificent . Having a private infinity pool was icing on the cake. The staff made sure we wanted for nothing. The major domos were there to take care of every request. The food in the lovely, romantic restaurant was of gourmet quality and the service was impeccable. Yes, this is an expensive property but we found it to be worth the expenditure.

We loved everything about our recent stay at Jade Mountain. From the moment you arrive the staff's friendly manner is apparent. You are taken immediately to your sanctuary and your major domo does his best to get your vacation started as quickly as possible. Roland, Vito and Cristus all served as our major domos during our one week stay. They were tremendous. The number of activities that are available to you as a guest is wonderful. There is snorkeling on-site as well as tours available. Jungle the boat captain and Zita were great guides for our snorkeling trip at the base of Petit Piton. Jungle became a friendly face we were happy to see nearly every day of our trip as he was always helping us get to our scheduled activities. Jungle biking with Tyson was also very enjoyable. He provided a lot of information about the Mamin plantation and showed us some great trails. We enjoyed a half day sailing trip and more snorkeling with Garfield and Denzil. Garfield provided even more information on the island during our sail. Perry drove me to my Gros Piton hike (a very challenging about rewarding hike!) and educated me on the plants around the island. Nelson does a fabulous job with the 7am yoga sessions as well as the beach yoga classes. We did a hike and yoga private lesson with Laura and found that to be wonderful as well. The spa treatments by Theo and EmmaLee were top notch. The food was fabulous at all of the on-site restaurants and also anything we had delivered to our room was delicious. LM Stone was a wonderful entertainer we listened to at one of the Anse Chastnet lounges one evening. We really cannot say enough about our visit. We stayed in Sanctuary JD3 and found the pool and view to be perfect. We highly recommend Jade Mountain for a luxury vacation and we hope to return ourselves!

Amazing architecture but 20mins up a bumpy track to get there. We were on $2500 / day MAP but charged $8.50 for a bottle of water each day with our breakfast! The beach is black/brown sand and some distance down the hill through the sister hotel.
