About the Hotel

There is no fourth wall in villas at Ladera – instead, there is the jaw-dropping backdrop of the Pitons, two mountainous volcanic spires that attract adventure-seekers from across the world. A faint tropical breeze wafts from the Caribbean Sea far below through netting on a four-poster bed carved from polished tropical hardwood. Incentive to leave your room can be found in chef Nigel Mitchel's creative interpretation of traditional island fare – try the roast conch served with organic vegetables from the neighboring plantation.

Watch out for mosquito flogging!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 8 hours ago

Let me start out by saying that the view is amazing! It really is spectacular and I recommend going for dinner to enjoy it. I also think the staff was very nice. Now, let me tell you why I would not recommend. We paid a lot to stay there and our first night was Friday night. The lady told us that they fog for mosquitoes at 5:30pm. We thought, no problem we will be out of our room at dinner. We go to dinner, we come back, get into the plunge pool, open a bottle of wine then we get fogged with mosquito repellent. I mean, a thick cloud of chemical. We couldn’t get away from it bc we were in our room. This occured at 7:45pm. The resort said sorry, they should have been there at 5:30. This is unacceptable. I will also say the lack of AC is a bit of an issue, but not huge. If you turn the lights on then bugs are everywhere so we had to shower in the dark. We are older but there are a lot of newlyweds. We met a lot of them and they were bored. It’s not like you can enjoy your room in the dark and the pool is cold at night. There is a game room with a pool table (only area with AC) and we did that a lot. I am glad we went but we only stayed 4 nights, I would have been fine with 2 or 3 nights. It’s a one and done for me and the fact that they didn’t offer any discount for flogging us with mosquito spray really sealed if for me, I’ll never return.

Romantic getaway

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 8 hours ago

Ladera might be one of the most romantic and intimate places my husband and I have ever stayed. The views of the Pitons and the Caribbean are absolutely stunning. We stayed in Suite N, and the entire experience was amazing from start to finish. The friendly and attentive staff were definitely one of the highlights of our stay. Our room came with a phone that allowed us to easily contact our butler, the front desk, or concierge, and they were always happy to arrange and handle reservations, taxis, excursions, and more. Everything felt effortless and well taken care of. The property also provides complimentary shuttle service to Sugar Beach, which is the best beaches on the island. My only recommendation would be to offer more shuttle times, as we would have loved to take advantage of the service more often. A few things to note before booking: the rooms do not have TVs, but honestly, we didn’t miss having one. If you do want a movie night, you can arrange one at the property’s unique Mango Treehouse, which is such a fun and memorable experience. The property also offers beautiful trails, an indoor/outdoor gym, a rum bar, and many other amenities. Ladera is definitely not a lively, party-style resort—and that’s exactly what makes it so special. It’s designed to feel secluded and peaceful, almost as if you and your partner are the only two people in the middle of the jungle, surrounded by incredible views. For couples looking for romance, privacy, and an unforgettable experience, Ladera is truly something special. We absolutely loved our stay and would happily return.

Spectacular magic in the Pitons

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Ladera exceeded every expectation of our trip. The view alone is worth the trip: you’re perched right between the Pitons, and the open-wall design means you wake up to that view every morning. The rooms have wonderful charm - tropical eco-lodge character with real Caribbean accents, but nothing about it feels rustic or tacky. Everything is thoughtfully appointed and genuinely luxurious. Honestly, you could spend your entire stay without leaving the room and still feel like you got the full Ladera experience. What sets this place apart is the staff. From the moment we arrived, the woman at the welcome area was always making sure to have our transportation arranged without a second thought. Our butlers, Saidley, Davonte, and Dillis, were exceptional. They checked in on dinner reservations before we even had to ask and had the transport carts ready and waiting whenever we needed to get somewhere. I looked forward to our meals at Dasheene, who made us feel like family. For instance, tthe staff once noticed how much we were enjoying our coconut drinks and offered to take a photo for us, a small gesture that said a lot about how attentive they are. Housekeeping was just as consistent and thoughtful throughout our stay. A few other highlights: the gym is surprisingly well equipped for a resort in this setting, and the treehouse is a genuinely cool spot worth seeking out. Ladera isn’t just a hotel with a great view. It’s a place where the people make the experience as memorable as the scenery.

Happiest birthday gift ever at Ladera

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

From the time we drove up to the resort we got the most peaceful and relaxing feeling. The staff at Dasheene were most hospitable. Wonderful atmosphere. Beautiful views. Friendly and welcoming smiles. I love seeing a smiling chef, to me it means the meal was made with love and it tasted like it was. My hubby said he didn't want to swallow because his seafood salad was so delicious. My king fish catch of the day was satisfying and delicious. We had started with the pumpkin soup, St.lucian accra and lobster salad. They complement the meal greatly. We came for my 62nd birthday lunch and it was a gift that kept on giving us a most memorable experience. We're coming back.

My boyfriend and I spent a week at Ladera Resort in St. Lucia, West Indies, this past October. It is a beautiful resort with incredibly attentive and friendly staff. I would like to specifically mention Chef Orlando Satchell. He made an already special stay at Ladera even more wonderful. The room we stayed in was utterly incredible. The view of the ocean flanked by the Pitons, with the moon casting a path on the sea below was magic. It was an incredibly romantic, relaxing vacation which neither one of us wanted to end.
