Stonefield Estate Resort in Soufriere, Saint Lucia

Stonefield Estate Resort’s idyllic location has hosted centuries of visitors – the island’s earliest-known inhabitants, the Arawaks, left a postcard from 350 A.D. in the form of a petroglyph tablet that can still be seen on the resort’s verdant grounds. Stonefield’s 26 acres were also once a cocoa plantation, and today they yield mangoes, breadfruit and other delicacies that supply the onsite organic restaurant. Airy villas are outfitted in indigenous wood and stone, and guests are more likely to encounter a friendly parrot than another guest. Adventure-seekers will find plenty to do, from rainforest hikes and waterfall excursions to coral reef dives in the balmy Caribbean Sea.

Prepare coffee and peel a freshly picked mango on your canopied terrace. Catch a ride farther up the mountainside, where you’ll join a guide to visit an active volcano full of bubbling pools of lava and prehistoric craters. Take a healing soak in the mineral springs and feel yourself age in reverse. Return to watch the sunset over a plate of grilled Dorado fish in passion fruit sauce.

My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary here and the pictures do not do this place justice. There is attention to detail and the views are stunning! We had many afternoon showers during our visit and we did not care because we just hung out on our front porch on the hammock and watched the rain fall! Crisp white sheets and mostly firm mattress was so comfortable for us! Other hotels near here are more expensive and I am not sure that they offer more. Our villa was Frangipani....literally the one pictured! We are so grateful to have found this place. It was close to everything we wanted to do. The grounds were immaculate and everyone was so nice. We did end up booking a trip to Anse La Ray for the Friday Fish Fry at the hotel's recommendation. We paid a cab and drove the insane road for an hour only to find it was not running anymore. The hotel did credit us back half the fare. And we ate at the Mango Tree when we returned, but it was a bummer. The Thursday night buffet with Limbo and Fire Show was fantastic! We loved this little local find, rather than the more commercialized, more expensive villas!!

We accidentally booked an extra day on our trip and needed a place to stay for one night. I wish we would have known about the Stonefield because we would have booked our entire trip here instead! We stayed in the Frangipani villa. Our room was private and the pool/view was amazing!! The driver they called to pick us up from the airports name was Peter. He was one of my favorite parts of the entire trip. He was a local who knew all about the island. The drive from the airport was long but he had plenty of facts to share with us, and even drove us to see some local stops along the way. We had to leave for our resort the next day, and he offered to drive us there as well and it was another fun trip with Peter. He took us to buy some local bread and drinks, offered to take us shopping, and even knew which awesome locals to buy gifts from. The staff was fantastic and we had a great time. I cant wait to go back and stay longer. If you are looking for something private, and less of the resort scene this is the place for you!

My friend and I spent 5 unforgettable days at Stonefield Estate Resort. It is a fabulous place to stay. It is beautiful and serene. Perfect for a peaceful getaway. The staff were amazing. The view from the restaurant is unforgettable. Easy access to Sugar Beach.

A group of us ladies stayed here in June 2017 and all of us fell madly in love with this place!!!This all-villa resort is truly a hidden gem and is one of the best resorts I've personally ever been to in all of my travels!!! It's family owned and operated and you have that feeling of true bliss and zen IMMEDIATELY upon entering it's grounds. We were welcomed with cold scented towels and cocktails then each taken away to the little oasis of our individual private villas - all with the most stunning views of St. Lucia's famous Piton mountain! The villas each have their own completely private area with plunge pool, full kitchen, bedroom with four-poster bed and outdoor shower. Hike up the stairs or cobblestone roadway to near the top where the restaurant and main pool sit over-looking the gorgeous piton. Socialize here with other guests and enjoy live music and exquisite cuisine. My truly favorite parts of the trip was the zen feeling and the completely private villas. It's not a beach resort but you can get a complimentary shuttle to the beach. Nobody from our group did as we all loved our own private pools more. The rooms were traditional, meaning not really updated but I felt it actually added to the relaxed and zen feeling. There's wear and tear but the villas are very clean and most comfortable and spacious. This resort is really ideal for honeymooners, romance holiday, girls getaways, yoga retreats and/or destination weddings. I reeeeeeally cannot wait to go back here.

My wife and I just returned from a week at St. Lucia (6/19-26). We had a very good experience at Stonefield Estate Resort, nestled high on a wooded hill on the site of an old cocoa plantation. While it has stunning views of the Caribbean Sea (and nearby mountains) and shuttle access to nearby beaches, one would not consider this a "beach resort". Think rural mountains, tropical rain forests, flowers & birds. No problem with biting insects. The grounds and facilities are beautiful. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and competent. The food was very good. I would put the view from the outdoor dining room up against any in the world!! The private dipping pool outside our door was a great feature. We rented a car (left side driving) so we could freely explore the island.
