About the Hotel

Stonefield VillaResort’s idyllic location has hosted centuries of visitors – the island’s earliest-known inhabitants, the Arawaks, left a postcard from 350 A.D. in the form of a petroglyph tablet that can still be seen on the resort’s verdant grounds. Stonefield’s 26 acres were also once a cocoa plantation, and today they yield mangoes, breadfruit and other delicacies that supply the onsite organic restaurant. Airy villas are outfitted in indigenous wood and stone, and guests are more likely to encounter a friendly parrot than another guest. Adventure-seekers will find plenty to do, from rainforest hikes and waterfall excursions to coral reef dives in the balmy Caribbean Sea.

Lovely Wedding at Stonefield

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 17 hours ago

It's hard to put into words how grateful we are to everyone at Stonefield Villa Resort for making our destination wedding unforgettable and so special. We always say that it's the people who make a place feel special and that could not have been more true at Stonefield. From Valna to Gaellan and every member of the Stonefield family - everyone made us and our family and friends feel so incredibly welcomed and cared for ~ thank you!!! :) Resort - It was so special to rent out the entire resort so that all of our favorite people could be together in one place. There's something incredibly special about waking up and knowing that you’re surrounded by everyone you love. Our friends and family traveled so far to celebrate with us and having everyone together throughout the entire weekend made the experience feel even more meaningful. The accommodations were absolutely incredible. Every room was beautiful and each one had an outdoor shower + breathtaking views of the Pitons and ocean. We honestly wish we could have stayed longer just to have more time to enjoy everything. The large villa at the top of the resort was so spacious with incredible Piton and ocean views - it was the perfect place for everyone to get together. We were able to fit our entire group for our Superbowl party there! It was a bit of a walk from the big villa to the rest of the resort, but they always set up transportation whenever we needed (and to other beaches as well). Waking up to our private pool and view of the Pitons never got old. The view from Mango Tree restaurant was absolutely UNREAL and straight out of a postcard - a beautiful backdrop for our wedding! The Pitons were so breathtaking and SO beautiful. The grounds were incredibly well kept and so beautiful and lush ~ a paradise! It was PERFECT. Although it rained during our stay, we barely noticed because we were having so much fun together. We got to see so many rainbows, which made everything feel even more magical~ But truly, it was the people who made Stonefield so special and unforgettable. Mango Tree - The food at Mango Tree was so delicious and the staff was incredibly warm and friendly. Our family loved the fresh mangos so much that the staff even helped them find more to enjoy (which I thought was so sweet)! We had actually visited Stonefield a couple of years before our wedding and it was so special to see some of the same staff members again when we returned. One of our sweetest memories was the mango sticky rice Cecilia made for us for our wedding night. It felt fitting to create a dish we loved featuring something so plentiful at the resort and with their restaurant being named Mango Tree. Cecilia was so warm and kind and I loved also getting to meet her and enjoy a dish she had made especially for us. It was such a thoughtful and memorable touch! Valna - Planning a destination wedding can feel overwhelming especially when there are so many moving parts, but Valna helped us throughout the entire process. We worked with her for almost two years after having to reschedule our wedding because of flight costs. She always met us with so much patience and understanding even though she had many other responsibilities. She helped us coordinate booking the entire resort for our family and friends. She also connected us with our amazing wedding planner, Fenella. From booking the rooms, planning the wedding/wedding events, transportation, communications, and everything in between, there were so many moving pieces and somehow everything came together perfectly! Gaellan - Gaellan was absolutely wonderful! Being part of the Stonefield family, he had this incredibly warm and friendly personality that immediately made us feel comfortable. He was so kind and accommodating. He connected so naturally with all of our friends and family, he genuinely felt like one of our people and more like a friend by the end of the weekend. He joined us during our Super Bowl party and even helped us get everything set up! He was just so cool and we really hope our paths cross again someday (whether in the US or back in St Lucia - round 2! haha). It felt like a full circle meeting the matriarch, Anista Brown, as we were leaving the villa. It was a beautiful reminder that Stonefield feels like a family, probably largely due to the fact that the resort itself was created and built through the love and hard work of the Brown family. There were so many thoughtful touches and his attention to detail showed throughout the weekend showing how much he cared. Gaellan also mentioned that his father or grandfather also enjoyed cigars similarly to our own dads. It felt special knowing we were all from different parts of the world, but we could all connect through love and memories. A cute little detail - he provided cell phones in every room so our guests could easily communicate with each other. Little details like that made such a difference, especially when we had an entire resort full of family and friends. As for the rest of the staff – everyone was incredibly friendly, warm, and welcoming. Some of the staff even ended up hanging out with us throughout the weekend and it never felt like we were simply guests at a resort. It felt like we were sharing our celebration with others. No request ever felt like an inconvenience. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure all of us felt comfortable and cared for. Wedding - Our wedding itself truly felt like a dream and so much of that was because of the Stonefield family. After nearly two years of planning all of the special details, seeing everything finally come together was incredibly emotional. We wanted everyone to feel how much they meant to us and having all of our favorite people together in one place made that possible. By the end of the weekend, Stonefield had become so much more than the place where we got married. It became a place that holds one of the happiest memories of our lives. It was the place where all of the people we love most were together at the same time, celebrating with us, laughing with us, eating together, and making memories we know we'll carry with us forever! We left already talking about how much we hope we can all come back someday. My husband and I and the rest of our guests still talk about how beautiful the resort was, how incredible the views were, how delicious the food was, and, most of all - how warm and genuine everyone at Stonefield was. Thank you Valna, Gaellan, Cecilia, Anista and every other person of the Stonefield family we had the pleasure of meeting. You helped us create one of the happiest, most beautiful, and most meaningful weekends of our lives! Thank you for welcoming our family and friends so warmly and for taking such wonderful care of everyone who traveled so far to celebrate with us! We will always be grateful for the love and kindness you all showed us. Stonefield will always hold such a special place in our hearts! THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts!!! <3 <3 <3 We hope to see you all again very soon! Let’s run it back :) <3

Honest Review

Honest Review of Our Stay in St. Lucia My husband and I recently stayed at this resort in St. Lucia, and overall, we had a wonderful experience. The views were absolutely breathtaking, the villa felt romantic and secluded, and the resort provided the relaxing Caribbean getaway we were looking for. In fact, despite some of the drawbacks listed below, we would absolutely stay here again. I wanted to share some honest observations—not as complaints, but to help future guests set appropriate expectations before booking. What may have been minor inconveniences for us could be more important to other travelers. What We Loved • The views are incredible and were one of the highlights of our trip. • The villa was very romantic and perfect for couples. • The front desk staff was extremely helpful throughout our stay. • The resort drivers were friendly, reliable, and made getting around easy. • Our waitress at the restaurant was genuinely kind and provided great service despite being stretched thin at times. • The overall atmosphere felt peaceful, tropical, and unique. Things to Know Before Booking Dining & Service The restaurant experience was generally good, but there were some staffing challenges during our stay. • The restaurant hostess was not particularly welcoming and was difficult to reach by phone on multiple occasions. We eventually had to contact the front desk for assistance when restaurant calls went unanswered. • The waitstaff was friendly and worked hard, but the restaurant appeared understaffed at times. After brunch, receiving our check took approximately 30 minutes. Villa Amenities While beautiful, the villas may not meet everyone's expectations regarding comfort and climate control. • Only the bedroom is air-conditioned. The bathroom, kitchen, and living areas do not have AC. • The showers are outdoors, which is a unique experience, but water pressure was quite low. • The provided hair dryers are very weak and take significantly longer than a typical hair dryer in the United States. • Because the bathroom is not air-conditioned, humidity can make getting ready a bit challenging. Privacy & Noise The resort markets itself as secluded, and it certainly feels that way in many respects, but guests should understand that the villas are actually quite close together. • From our Piton Ocean View Oleander villa, we could clearly see guests dining at the restaurant while sitting by our pool. • We could also hear neighboring guests fairly easily. • Restaurant music is audible from the villas, particularly between approximately 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM. • While the music wasn't overwhelmingly loud, light sleepers or those seeking complete silence may want to bring a portable speaker or white-noise machine. • Resort staff begins working around the property early in the morning, often before 9:00 AM. Mobility Considerations This is an important point for anyone with mobility concerns. • The surrounding area is extremely steep, with numerous inclines and declines. • I would not recommend attempting to walk outside the resort unless you are comfortable navigating significant hills and uneven terrain. Tropical Reality St. Lucia is lush and tropical, and with that comes wildlife. • Definitely bring bug spray. • We encountered a very large centipede in our kitchen during our stay. • We also saw a rat running along the edge of our patio several times at night. This didn't ruin our trip, but travelers who are uncomfortable around insects or wildlife should be prepared. Pool & Practicalities A few additional things future guests may find helpful: • The pool was much deeper than it appeared in photos. I am 5'5", and once I stepped off the bottom step, my head was barely above water. • There aren't many convenient places to air-dry swimsuits and clothing. The wind is often strong enough that leaving items outside can be difficult. Final Thoughts This resort delivered exactly what we wanted in many ways: stunning scenery, a romantic setting, and an unforgettable St. Lucia experience. None of the issues we encountered were deal breakers, and we would happily return. However, I think it's important for prospective guests to understand that "luxury" here comes with a more natural, open-air, tropical experience rather than the polished, climate-controlled environment some travelers may expect. If you know that going in and appreciate the beauty of the location, you'll likely enjoy your stay as much as we did. Overall, we left with wonderful memories and would absolutely consider staying here again.

Total relaxation with a million dollar view. We stayed for 3 nights in the Ginger Lilly villa and loved every second! The views of the Pitons was breathtaking and the villa had everything we could have wanted. We loved the outdoor shower and hammock. Breakfast was very nice and the staff was wonderful. We hope to return. Note that this property is very hilly. Not a good fit for those with mobility issues. The pavement between buildings is very steep with some stairs to get to the restaurant.

Beautiful and Relaxing

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

My husband and I had a great time at Stonefield. ROOM The room was amazing. The private pool with a table and chairs, hammock (amazing for naps), and sunbathing chairs with an umbrella was amazing. The inside of the room had a bed with a mosquito net, a beautiful outdoor shower, a fridge, French press, and other amenities. Room was clean and very nice. My husband and I are generally not people to stay in the room, but here, the room is really what it's all about. GROUNDS Beautiful grounds. There is a great variety of flora and birds. The view is amazing. Every angle and spot on the resort is great to get a view of the beautiful Pitton. TO DO There is a small fitness area, a little hiking trail, and a pool next to the resteraunt (we never saw anyone in it- who needs it when you have your own!). We booked the Tet Paul hike through Stonefield- it was short but nice. One thing I loved was the ease of getting taxis. They give you a phone to call and order them and the cost is put on your room. Super convenient and we never had a long wait. FOOD I thought the included breakfast was pretty substantial. You can choose from 3 mains (eggs, French toast, and pancakes) a handful of sides (ie., potatoes, bacon) and cereal, oatmeal or fruit. As a vegan I skipped the main but did a few sides (potatoes and baked beans). You also can get coffee/tea and juice. I thought breakfast was always very good and substantial. We ate one lunch at Mango Tree. I thought nineteen dollars for a veggie burger with no sides was a little ridiculous, but alas, that is, I think just St Lucia. We had one dinner at Mango Tree which was pretty good. As a vegan i felt like they were pretty accomodating, and I did not struggle to eat here. That being said, the breakfast and that nights dinner menu did not have any items listed as vegan, so i had to inquire which wasn't a big deal, but sometimes it's just nice to see things automatically listed as vegan. OTHER ODDS AND ENDS I thought the WiFi was very good. In terms of guests, definetely a younger crowd. I'm pregnant and thought it was a great choice for me. Overall, if you're looking for a relaxing place to stay with beautiful views and an incredible room, this is definitely an excellent choice.

Exactly what you'd hope for!

Would highly recommend if you are looking for a serene, beautiful getaway. I wanted the classic view of the Pitons, and Stonefield accomplished that. The accommodations are somewhat rustic, but with AC and attentiveness from the staff--no bugs or anything in the villa. The views from the Piton/ocean view rooms are incredible. This resort is very quiet, and we were often the only ones at the public pool. So if privacy and serenity is what you're looking for, then this is the place. The food was fantastic. We also did a couples massage that was incredible and I felt a good value for the price.
