I’ve stayed at plenty of 5-star resorts around the world, but the staff at The Landing in South Lake Tahoe are truly in a league of their own. From the moment we arrived, every single team member was warm, genuine, and way beyond normal expectations to make us feel welcome. You can tell they genuinely care about their guests and seem like they actually ENJOY their jobs — it’s rare to find service this good anymore. Our room was stunning — beautifully designed to scream Lake Tahoe. The heated bathroom floors and the fireplace added the perfect cozy touch. The large jacuzzi tub was absolutely heavenly, and yes, even the toilet seat was heated (which is a feature I didn’t know I needed until now!). Every part of our stay was exceptional — from the comfort of the room to the thoughtful service throughout the property, which includes a shuttle that will take you MOST places in South Tahoe. The Landing has become my new go-to in Lake Tahoe, and I can’t wait to come back. If you’re looking for true 5-star comfort with the kindest, most attentive staff you’ll ever meet, but also a laid back setting (not stuffy or pretentious like some) book this one!!!!

Excellent place to stay. Great location directly across from the lake with great beach area. The entire staff is very friendly and welcoming. The attached restaurant “Jimmy’s “ was excellent and so convenient. We were able to dine with the dogs without having to load them in and out of the car. We will be back!

Great experience all around. From check in to check out it was a great stay. Location is perfect for those seeking views and access to the Lake and the energy of downtown. Dining and room service were on point and the coffee/hot cocoa stand in the reception area was very convenient. Staff were engaging, friendly and happy to help with any requests. Our stay consisted of 5 nights across 8 days and in 2 different rooms. Both rooms were well appointed and clean. The remaining 2 nights were spend close to Yosemite, so another plus for the location. The Pool and Hot tub were well kept with lots of room. Location is quiet and the views of the lake and surrounding mountain range are fantastic.

The hotel seems to care only about hosting events such as weddings and fundraisers, while treating regular guests as an inconvenience. These events take place literally at the doorstep of the guest rooms, making the stay unbearable. Service from the front desk and staff was extremely poor and far below expectations. On three separate occasions we were given false assurances that no events would take place during our stay. In reality, three events occurred over the course of our four-day visit. The staff operates with a dishonest approach - offering empty reassurances and then apologizing afterward, claiming there’s nothing they can do. Avoid this hotel unless you want to feel like an uninvited guest at someone else’s wedding.
