What a beautiful lagoon it was. I will never forget my days in the Maldives. The staff were friendly and our host "Sandi" was quick to respond to our comfortable stay. The housekeeping was perfect. We thought about where to go among the Maldives' many resorts, but we chose lagoon because we could sign up for Excursion, and that was a really good decision. It's the best lagoon in the Maldives. We will miss it.

Had an amazing stay at this resort! Everything—from the friendly staff to the beautiful surroundings—was perfect. Truly one of the best vacations I’ve had. Highly recommended! A special mention goes to Hisham from room service, who truly made our stay even more memorable. He was incredibly attentive, always greeted us with a smile, and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. His professionalism, kindness, and prompt service stood out every single day. Thank you, Hisham, for your exceptional dedication—you are a real asset to the resort!

We returned to Anantara Dhigu after several years away — as repeat guests, we were excited to reconnect with a place that had once felt truly magical. The resort is still beautiful, and many of the elements we loved remain. However, some important changes have affected the overall experience. What made Dhigu extraordinary in the past was the sense of untouched nature. Unfortunately, that “spark” has faded. There are noticeably fewer fish around the island, while the presence of crows has increased, often becoming a nuisance by stealing food. Even more impactful, the skyline has been altered by the construction of high-rise buildings on the islands facing the resort. These towers compromise the natural horizon, and it is difficult not to feel concerned — skyscrapers simply should not be allowed on the atolls. During our stay, the resort itself had many areas “under progress,” and some of the over-water villas no longer felt truly over water due to changing tides or unclear reasons. Additionally, the island where the staff live could benefit from more vegetation or thoughtful landscaping, as its current appearance detracts from the overall view. On the positive side, service at the resort remains warm and attentive. The buffet food has improved significantly, and our butler, Ram, was exceptionally professional and kind throughout our stay. However, restaurant prices have increased dramatically, to the point of feeling disproportionate to the experience offered. Overall, returning to Anantara Dhigu is still pleasant, and we cherish many aspects of the resort. Yet we cannot ignore our growing concern about the aggressive development and environmental impact surrounding what was once a pristine sanctuary. We hope the resort and local authorities will take meaningful steps to protect the natural beauty that makes the Maldives so special.

Amazing stay. Enjoyed every single day. A lot of activities for families with kids. All the staff in kids club were very friendly. Especially Neeza (I hope I got the name correctly). Special thanks to Ram for hosting us as own family members.

We stayed in a beachside pool villa on Anantara Dhigu while assessing the 3 Anantara islands for destination weddings and honeymoons, and it was everything we hoped it would be. Wide white sandy beaches leading to a shallow lagoon with colourful fish and coral, private over-water and beach villas, and fabulous restaurants. The spa was well worth a visit too; I had a heavenly "golden glow" massage while watching fish through a glass panel in the floor, followed by ginger tea on the relaxation deck overlooking the ocean. Four days was not enough in this little part of paradise.
