Reviews for COMO Cocoa Island, The Maldives
If there were more than 5 stars on TripAdvisor, this place would deserve it! Everything about this place was perfect. some highlights: - The staff are extremely attentive, generous, polite and have the perfect balance between being social and friendly while also letting me and my wife rest and enjoy the beautiful resort - Snorkling at the island is amazing. there are baby sharks and rays along the beaches, and there is a beautiful drop where we saw a turtle - Scuba diving is amazing too. there are amazing dive sites within <10minutes around the island. - The island feels extremely private. there are about 30 rooms only and we could be spending the whole day around the island while only seeing 4 other guests (it was at 50% occupancy) - Food is good while it is slightly expensive the quality is great! Iit was not as expensive as expected - with there being being no other options i thought the prices might be extortionate. I'd recommend getting the half board at least
I have travelled a lot and seen a few places, yet Cacoa Island by Como beats them all. I normally keep my reviews fairly brief, but here I have to write a little more. For those who do not like to read a lot: Hey! Go there enjoy, it does not get better! Together with my girlfriend I have spent 9 days on the island. And it was bliss! The short speed boat ride from the airport in an impeccable little boat brought us to a warm welcome at the island’s jetty. Greeted by the GM and his team with wonderful fresh coconut to drink. We got a Loft Villa which is stunning. Very private with direct access to the water (like all of the 33 units) and a splendid double width sun lounger on the deck. Huge bathroom with all one needs plus outdoor shower. The bedroom sits above it all overlooking the living room and the sea. Plenty of water is provided throughout the stay. Now, being on a tiny island could get boarding and pose a challenge we thought. But none of this happened. Despite its limited size we felt there is plenty to do. Also only having one restaurant was no issue due to a very large and clever designed menu that changes throughout the week, supported by fantastic theme nights including Indian, Thai and seafood bbq. The quality of food and drinks is simply outstanding and better than in many restaurants in Europe or Asia or elsewhere. Same goes for breakfast. Activities are centred around water - of course. The snorkelling was great with sightings of sharks, millions of fishes, rays, and to top it all of a sea turtle. The discovery dive was a great experience with very knowledgeable dive masters. Again a few sharks, a turtle, lion fish, scorpion fish, and far too many other to mentioned were seen. And all of that at the house reef. And take a sunset cruise!! Wonderful and worth it. And then there was yoga! With the best instructor we have encountered anywhere: Dr. “Yogi” Anand. On the sandbank in the morning for sunrise whilst shark fins were visible in the water. Or in the afternoon. An absolute must! For those of you who need some other work out, try the gym. I enjoyed the well maintained equipment and the superb Bose sound system. Did I forget to mention something? Probably a lot, but at the end my only recommendation is: try it for yourself and you will - like many other guests we had spoken to - return. We will for sure. Thank you team at Cocoa Island!

This is our 3rd time in Maldives. We stayed at Gili Lankanfushi and W before. They are all fantastic with different charm. For Cocoa Island, the real advantage here is the size of the island. It's small yet super private. During our stay, we rarely meet other guests except during meal. All the rooms are overwater villa, making the island very quite. There's no foot traffic anytime, day or night. This is something we really like for Cocoa island. The room is very nice, it's neat, clean, and sizable. The bed is amazing, one of the best beds we've ever slept in. This is our 1st time staying in Como brand and we're considering staying in other Como properties mainly because of the bed. The service is over 5 stars. All the staff reach out to make our stay memorable. I'd like to thank especially to Najmul and Anand for their kind hospitality. We're a bit disappointed with the food though, the breakfast choice is quite limited and we're allowed to order only 1 main dish which has tiny portion of meat. We think there's a room for improvement on this one. All in all, I'd suggest Cocoa island for anyone who require ultimate privacy and prefer quite place to relax.

This hotel is located in one of the most wonderful places on earth. The island is a paradise, small and private. We saw all kind of marine life including dolphins. The snorkeling is A+ right from the room. I agree with other reviews it is sad to see that much plastic in the ocean. The hotel does its part but the locals not so much. The chalets are beautiful, the service and food are excellent. The employees are wonderful, everybody were concern about us all the time. They gave us an upgrade without ask and also the day we were leaving gave as a room after check out time. They accommodate all our wishes. We experience 0 stress since we got to the airport until we got back to the airport. The hotel representative at the airport helped us until we got to the immigration line. I highly recommend this place.

The perfect dream vacation ever; Maldives did not disappoint! This was made possible by COMO Cocoa Island. This place is stunning – tastefully and elegantly furnished villas, beautiful sandbanks, colourful house reef, etc. We loved how the island was small and uncrowded; it almost felt that we had the place all to ourselves. If you are after privacy and seclusion, this is the perfect place for you. The food was excellent – made with the freshest ingredients and always perfectly cooked and presented! We loved that dinner was always a 3-course meal and not the usual buffet style (quality over quantity). If you like healthy options, there are plenty to choose from as well as the hotel takes pride in their special Shambhala healthy alternatives. However, what made the experience exceptional were the people. We can’t get over how genuinely caring and attentive everyone had been to all guests, going above and beyond the level of service you would normally expect. Everyone we have spoken with agreed; the staff and crew were the best we have seen. Some of our favorite people were the waiting staff who served our food daily (Ramesh, Saeed, Fedi, Dewi), Fazeel (Housekeeping), Elle and Zara (Front Desk) and everyone else we had the pleasure to meet but unfortunately have not been able to note the names. Great tour as well; thank you to our tour guide especially the lad who assisted me the whole time we went snorkeling (I feel bad that I haven’t been able to get his name). We were also impressed at how they keep the island clean at all times; rain or shine we saw how the staff would be meticulously sweeping the sandbank. Kudos and great congratulations to Benjamin Kreuz, General Manager, for leading such a great staff. Thank you also for always taking time to chat with us – from the time we arrived, during every meal and up until the evening we left the island. That kind of service, one wouldn’t be able to get from other fancy hotels. COMO Cocoa island is truly a special place. COMO Cocoa Island is indeed a real gem! Thank you for the one of a kind experience – the double room upgrade to a Loft Villa, the free champagne, complimentary massage, Russel’s birthday cake, the personalized notes, early check in and late check out. It’s been an amazing 6 days! We will never forget the time that we spent our honeymoon in this hotel. It was everything we imagined and more. Thank you so much for the wonderful memories. We hope to be back soon!
