Taj Exotica Resort & Spa in South Malé Atoll, Maldives

Taj Exotica Resort & Spa is in the middle of one of largest lagoons in the world, and it’s dedicated to protecting it. As one of five pilot resorts for the government’s Coral Reef Monitoring Framework, Taj evaluates its marine surroundings and gives guests the opportunity to support a reef-rebuilding project. After all, water is a way of life on Emboodhu Finolhu Island: Deep End restaurant – awarded four years in a row by Wine Spectator – and most of Taj’s decadent bungalows are perched over the sea.

Walk across indigenous hardwood floors to take a dip in your villa’s private plunge pool. Listen to the tide ebb and flow underneath you. Take a champagne breakfast under the shady branches of banyan trees. Unwind with an aromatherapy massage for two. Board a private dhoni to explore a neighboring island – yours for the day – and watch the sunset while a guitar player serenades a private dinner by ocean’s edge.

It's more than perfect! The resort is well maintained, water's perfect and the staff is so warm and friendly! Shout out to Ali, the best butler!!! Muadh, Isachn for not getting tired of taking us to our villas (We had 3 different villas so there's a lot of going to each other's villa hehe). Manuddin for always smiling and making up the villas! Dhombe, of course, for my perfect birthday dinner! Yummy lobsters!!! And the guys from the dive pavillion for snorkeling! You guys made the perfect location even more perfect! Thank you! Keep it up! :)

We were on a honeymoon and our experience was absolutely fantastic! The breakfast and dinner at 24 degrees were full of different options and really delicious. The island itself is extremely beautiful. The infinity pool was a great relaxing spot during afternoon. The poolside cafe there has some amazing food! The staff is extremely courteous and very helpful. We took private lessons for snorkeling and also went for a snorkel dive at the nearest lagoon. Well worth it! All non-motorized equipment was free so we used to paddleboat our way into the sunset and it was lovely. Must Visit! Highly recommended!

Recently visited this place with three of my friends for my first resort experience, and man, one hell of an experience it was! The day started out with an amazing breakfast and a tour of the island. The staff were more than happy to show us their small yet magnificent resort. After the tour, we got busy with snorkeling in the island's surrounding reef. I've been snorkelling once or twice, but they had nothing on what I saw this time. It was really cool to see that guests were able to build their own coral spheres. We stayed in a bungalow near the reef throughout the snorkeling trip and we were properly pampered! Loved the hammocks facing the sea. Lunch was quite the fulfilling experience. I ordered a Taj burger, which was huge and tasted every bit as good as the resort experience if that's possible. The food was truly Michelin star worthy for me. After lunch we made our way to the water sport facility, and got ourselves hooked on wakeboarding! With the instructors help and more than a couple of tries I was riding the waves. Like a pro ofcourse 😂. At the end of the day we enjoyed what was probably the most stunning sunset I've seen, and ofcourse I took pictures to prove it. The whole day was eventful, yet really peaceful too. The kind of life I would probably never get tired of. Fives stars Indeed for this place! For the food, the people, the environment, the fun, and overall the whole experience! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an island getaway, specially this close to the capital!

me and three of my friends decided to get away from all our work and exam stress on a resort trip just the 4 of us. We chose this resort because of it's notable reviews by our colleagues compared to it's competitors and they were right. The 2 things that stuck to me most is the fact that the staff were extremely professional and the amazing food. They guided us very well when we tried water sports and made sure we were satisfied. I tried the chef recommended Taj burger for lunch and it was amazing. The beef, the bun everything was excellent and they served the food for me and my friends quickly. The beaches are clean and the water is crystal clear with all sorts of ocean life (it's safe so we didn't have to worry) to admire. We truly felt isolated from the rest of the world and all the problems.
