Wind rustles through white plantation shutters at Cobblers Cove, a country manor on the west coast of Barbados where life carries an air of its colonial past. Afternoons pause for English tea in the Great House pavilion, tropical fruit accompanying delicate scones. Each morning, resident fisherman Barker sets out for the day’s catch – join him if you'd like – to be served up at the restaurant awarded best in the country by the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association.

This hotel is fabulous. The staff were charming, our room was immaculate and beautifully decorated, the food was the best we had on the island. We loved the cocktail bar. We loved our stay.

We have stayed at Cobblers Cove three times in the past few years and we absolutely love it. The hotel is beautifully managed and the ocean suites are fantastic, spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. It is apparent from the moment you arrive that this is a very special hotel owned by a family with incredibly high standards. The interiors are exquisite, combining local craftsmanship in beautifully decorated rooms with comfortable luxury. Cocktails and entertainment in the evenings are great fun and the food in the restaurant is always incredibly fresh and of a very high quality. We also greatly enjoyed the sailing, water-skiing and tennis, all included at the hotel, as well as great snorkelling on the reef just out to sea from the restaurant. In addition, the reception team organised some lovely trips to gardens and other interesting places on the island for us, both by taxi and hire car. The hotel is very quiet at night and peaceful at all times and the gardens are splendid. The staff are always helpful and smiling; a couple of extra delights are the daily afternoon tea and the shop full of gorgeous swimwear and jewellery to take home.

I wanted to share how wonderful our experience was at Cobblers Cove. Everyone we encountered greeted us with a warm smile and genuine kindness, which made our stay truly special. I especially want to highlight Deemanta, she is absolutely amazing. She went above and beyond to help me honor my family’s tradition of the Seven Fishes on Christmas Eve, and she then remembered our names and details for the rest of our trip. She is beyond warm and kind and truly a very special person. I’d also like to recognize Marco at the front desk, who was consistently clear, helpful, and welcoming. We loved our time at Cobblers Cove and very much hope to return again soon. It feels like a small family and everyone is happy to be there.

Staying at Cobblers Cove was a treat of a lifetime. Set in a stunning location with some of the best swimming on the island and surely the loveliest garden of all. Every inch of the hotel is beautifully designed, impressively combining elegance, originality and comfort while maintaining huge Caribbean charm. The restaurant is amazing in that it produces a new and delicious menu everyday - I don't think any other hotel I have stayed in has managed this. Combining stunning nourishment with using the well-equipped gym and the incredible sea, I returned home revitalised and genuinely looking forward to returning soon.

We had a fabulous time at Cobblers and wished we were there for longer. It has a wonderful aesthetic inside and out both in our room and communal areas. We were charmed by the staff who were delightful and efficient. We loved the speedboat tour of the coast and being able to snorkel in clear warm water just yards away from the hotel beach. The food was excellent as were the cocktails served at the super stylish bar. Could not recommend more highly.
