Wind rustles through white plantation shutters at Cobblers Cove, a country manor on the west coast of Barbados where life carries an air of its colonial past. Afternoons pause for English tea in the Great House pavilion, tropical fruit accompanying delicate scones. Each morning, resident fisherman Barker sets out for the day’s catch – join him if you'd like – to be served up at the restaurant awarded best in the country by the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association.

Went based on a recommendation by a relative. Went for 2 nights before our cruise. Beautiful boutique hotel etc can’t fault it. It is the most expensive hotel I have ever stayed in. £1200 per night. We were told after one night that we would have to change rooms for our second night , since when was this a thing ? I have never experienced this before at much cheaper hotels and am absolutely disgusted at this with the price they charge. I expect to book two nights in the same room. The upheaval of moving in on day 1, moving the next day and then moving again for a cruise at £1200 a night is completely unacceptable. NO I would not stay again for this. If I am paying those prices I expect perfection.

We stayed at Cobblers Cove for 10 nights in January celebrating my husbands "special" birthday. The hotel lived up to my expectations in terms of a small " boutique" hotel with a quirky colonial style and beautiful gardens. We stayed in an Upper Circle suite which was spacious, well equipped and kept immaculate every day and evening by our housekeeper. Unfortunately, we had to move rooms after two nights as the traffic noise from the busy road outside began at 5am and was impossible to sleep through. After some discussion with the reservation team we were moved to a much quieter room away from the road. We enjoyed the breakfast every morning. Fresh fruit, pastries etc.buffet style and a la carte choices. However, service can be slow at popular times. We dined at the hotel twice, once at the Tuesday Bbq which was very good value. The hotel restaurant costs are on par with some of the best restaurants in the area. The hotel is in a lovely position set on a beautiful stretch of beach. The sunbeds around the deck and pool area are very comfortable and there are plenty. Unfortunately, service around the patio area leaves a lot to be desired. We found we had to ask for mattress covers to be changed and we never saw the tiled areas being cleaned or swept despite being early risers. However the small pool is taken care of each day. We had to check out of our room at 12 but were assured a room would be available for us to shower and change before our flight. When we were shown to the "changing room" there were no towels or hairdryer provided. We had to chase around for them meaning we were a little late for our airport transfer. I suggest, you book a "changing room" with plenty of time to spare before your pick up. In summary, we had a lovely holiday but I'm not sure we would return as I feel the considerable cost is not reflected in the facilities or service provided.

We have now been to Cobblers Cove twice as we loved the setting and wanted to give it a second chance 2 years later. It is without doubt the worst customer service we have ever received. The staff are beyond rude and unhelpful and we will never go back! We had heard this from other friends and family members on multiple occassions too, hence the 2 year wait to go back. Absolutely astounding its allowed to run like that!

Went for the Tuesday barbecue. The choice of food was very good. Starters were a little underwhelming but quite nice. The choice of main courses and side dishes was very good and enjoyable . When booking we were allotted a time of 8pm which was odd because we felt rushed at the end when everything was closing down. We enjoyed the evening but for the price it was nowhere near as good as Tides or Fusion which are similar price levels.

This hotel is fabulous. The staff were charming, our room was immaculate and beautifully decorated, the food was the best we had on the island. We loved the cocktail bar. We loved our stay.
