But a mike away from most beautiful part of city, very nice and recent hotel with friendly staff. Prices are reasonable. If you have a car be careful of mafia of security of the hotel who make their little business asking (too much) money to let you park in front of hotel ...

The location is excellent and the lobby magnificent although in a newly rich kind of way, suitable for a hotel in Russia. We had booked an executive room but were upgraded to a suite. It was a lovely room with a walk in closet, two toilets and a balcony the length of the two rooms. Water was refilled for us in abundance! The breakfast was nothing special and not that great but average and ok. The concierge was exceptionally kind with lots of follow up questions and suggestions. Albeit not always correctly informed about opening hours. Also very good at suggesting restaurants and making reservations with short notice. We were recommended Palkin for Russian high end food and then a more hip place called Gastronomika to get a younger perspective. WiFi has good range and speed. Whilst the taxi from the airport was 2000 rubles in a Lexus, the ride booked by the hotel to the airport was more than 3000 rubles. A little pricey! We would recommend the hotel for location, helpful staff and lush lobby but probably not if you want something personal.

Medium sized rooms, good location close to the significant monuments of the city, breakfast spread better than average, lobby poorly laminated, staff was good warm and pleasing , room service needs an upgrade.

Cant comment on value for money because it was part of a package holiday but this was a lovely hotel in a great location situated right on Nevski Prospect with all its shops and convenient to walk to major sights such as Russian Museum, Faberge Museum, Church on the Spilt Blood, Hermitage and waterfront. Yager (Jaeger?) House across the road had good selection of beers (Russian German et al) and food at good prices.

4* standard old hotel, which would benefit from renovation. The location on Nevskij prospekt is great for sightseeing or shopping. The food is pretty basic, facilities as well. Would come back if there is an attractive price.
