Reviews for Lydmar Hotel
The interior design in this hotel should win some kind of award š„beautiful use of colour and combination of elements that give it a sophisticated yet cozy feel. Perfect balance of warmth and elegance. The staff were of superior skills. Particularly the manager. I left my jewlery pouch in the safe of my room and the hotel staff retrieved it and sent it back to my home town intact. Thank you for your kindness and professionalism. I'm very grateful. The Restaurant and Bar were impeccable! Bar tender made up drinks for us based on our preference in taste. His creativeness and friendliness must be commended. All in all a wonderful stay.

Dined with work colleagues on a Tuesday evening following a recommendation and have to say it was superb. It seem to be a very popular restaurant so a booking is recommended. Great food, with a cool and trendy decor made for a great evening. Some of the meals we had were Starters Burrata Tuna tartar Mains Roding Lamb Deserts Rhubarb crumble Semifreddo

Our connecting rooms were good-sized and decorated with large art pieces and photos that I would expect in a gallery more than a hotel room. (We used some of the large portraits in the hallways as guideposts back to our rooms.) Many of the sitting areas often had guests perched as though it was a nightclub. Right along the harbor, it's easy walk to museums, metro stop, restaurants, and shops.

I loved this hotel from start to end. Great service, the hotel feels like a home away from home! I had a great suite that had so many cool interior design element and it even had a HAIR straightener which was exactly what I needed for a night out with friends. Breakfast was a absolutely first class! Location was also perfect, right next to the water.

My husband and I were booked in for 5 nights. Our 5th floor room was large and well-appointed with a porthole view of the water and a large bank of windows on one wall, looking out to the windows of the adjacent apartment building. There were no privacy draperies (just blackout) so several times I noticed a man looking out the window into our room. The bath was beautifully appointed with a great shower and large tub. The breakfast buffet is legendary and was mentioned by our Swedish hostess at dinner as her favorite. We also had dinner one night and the food was lovely. The wifi is free but was spotty, cutting in and out in our room. While the staff was generally friendly they were also aloof, which, when there is a problem, feels like they don't care. I was caught in the small elevator one morning between the maid's cart and another maid getting off on my floor: instead of going down and coming back the two argued over me with the door open until I left and took the stairs. After I suggested to management that that wasn't professional (there is only one tiny front elevator) I got head nods and agreement but no apology. Fine, until I returned to the room after being out all day to find my room had not been made up. I was given herbal tea (was offered pastry) in the lobby until it was done but again, no real apology or sympathy with my discomfort. Whether this was coincidence or not, I was uncomfortable for the rest of my stay, and I wondered at it as I had been so nice about it all. Hmm. So an honest review...would I stay again? Perhaps. The nice things were ever so lovely. Also a note, there is a large flight of stairs at the entrance to the hotel; arriving there was a wonderful doorman to bring our bags in and up to our room. On departure, if my taxi driver had not come in to look for me no one would have been available to help!
