Streamsong Resort in Streamsong, Florida

Far beyond a quintessential golf and spa destination, Streamsong Resort ushers in a new era of luxury in central Florida. Extraordinary is a way of life here. Surrounded by nothing but nature in every direction, Streamsong Resort is situated just under 50 miles southeast of Tampa, enveloped by acres of rolling greens and glittering lakes. The 216-room main lodge houses custom-built guest rooms and suites that are modern and sophisticated, with views extending over the horizon, fostering a true sanctuary vibe. Spaces are no less than 530 square feet in size, and feature floor-to- ceiling windows, walk-in showers, double vanities, and boutique amenities designed to accommodate every detail of your stay. Take advantage of the lodge's complete fitness center and outdoor lakeside pool, or spend some quiet time relaxing in the serene loft/lounge area. Perfectly set with lakes on its sunrise and sunset sides, Streamsong Resort takes full advantage of its splendid setting with plenty of scenic observation spots, and the lack of city lights makes for incredible starlight views, especially from the rooftop lounge.

The resort is home to a wonderful array of amenities and sporting activities, including multiple streams and lakes that offer excellent Florida bass fishing, a sporting clay shooting range, trails for hiking and bird watching, and outdoor fireplaces. Take your relaxation to the next level at the grotto-style AcquaPietra spa, where world-class treatments will transport you to a place of tranquility and ultimate refreshment. The crown jewels of Streamsong Resort, though, are the critically acclaimed Streamsong Blue and Streamsong Red golf courses. Renowned golf architects Bill Coore, Ben Crenshaw, and Tom Doak worked simultaneously to create two extraordinary 18-hole golf masterpieces - both of which were specifically designed to be walked and offer the ultimate golfing experience. When it comes to dining, the resort continues its superior offerings with four casual and fine dining venues, as well as multiple bars. Fifty-Nine is Streamsong's elegant steak and seafood restaurant, located in the clubhouse, and serves delectable options for breakfast, lunch and dinner, including a top notch wine list. For contemporary American cuisine in a stylish setting, P2O5 hits the spot with flavorful renditions of classic fare, and the resort's flagship gourmet venue, Sotto Terra, is an experience in fine Italian and intimate personalized service. Toast your fabulous day at the rooftop lounge, and delight in the endless pleasures that Streamsong Resort consistently brings.

I compare this resort to Bandon Dunes (BD), because it became clear to me upon arrival that they were trying to replicate BD to a great extent. It is much easier to get here than to get to BD, but there is much that needs to be done. Our group of 6 played the red course 3x and the Blue twice. Our caddies were "Little Timmy Siska" and Greg Shea, and they were both excellent. Little Timmy is anything but little and quite a character. He caddies at Firestone in OH and worked at Merion for 7 years - he could do stand-up comedy, but is really an excellent caddie. The golf is great - lots of sand and very nice greens, and the lay-out on each course gives a golfer everything he can handle. But, with so much free water on each course, they need to get into some serious watering. There is a drought in FL that has lasted for months and they need to turn on the water every day. This place is built on a phosphate mine and has several deep water ponds - start dumping that free water on the courses. The food was good, and the service was decent and friendly, but employ more servers - there weren't as many employees as there should be at a busy place. Not sure what they were going for with the design. The architecture is "bunker-like", in that it seems like they were going for buildings that would withstand a nuclear blast. This separates it from BD and the incredible wood and stone buildings that make up BD. The rooms at the hotel are wonderful - huge, spacious, nicely appointed and comfortable, with great bathrooms. I would stay at the clubhouse next time I visit, as the shuttle ride between the hotel and the courses is 10 minutes and we had to wait for a shuttle in each spot. Is not BD, but it's well-worth the visit and it will be even better once the Black course is finished. Kudos to Chloe (bag girl), Dave (in charge of things at the clubhouse) and our caddies, Little Timmy and Greg!!

We enjoyed a couple of days at this resort. Golf was amazingly unique with many fairway sandtraps although conditions were very dry. Caddies were pretty knowledgeable. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Rooms were great and food was pretty good-much preferred the restaurant at the golf clubhouse-managers were so welcoming, Priscilla and Brianna were terrific. Sottoterra was very good too.

So glad the GPS worked!!!! Just an amazing drive to Streamsong, beautiful beautiful scenery, surreal and just incredible!!!! Arrived at the resort to a smiling team of valets. Check in was a cinch. Modern designed rooms, changed and off to the pool, Christy is a great bartendress, Had a great dinner in Sotterra, Alex and Priscilla did an amazing job, dinner was perfect, osso bucco is first rate, great quality Italian wines and also wine spectator, . Breakfast buffet in P205 was good as we woke up late, 35 minutes to get to tee time, why not have some golf lessons on the course or “rent a pro” for the day? caddy’s were great, a lot of good golf tips, eeven though shot above 100, these courses are incredible, this place is not for amateurs. Didn’t hear any airplanes the entire day on the course. There is a pro shop in clubhouse and got some great deals on new wares, lunch in 59, service was great, staff look to formal for lunch, why black tie for lunch? maybe you outta mix it up, use matching golf wear, bright colors for the servers. Staff extremely friendly, food was great. Back to the pool, to relax before dinner, P205 loud place for dinner and no ambiance so went back to 59 for dinner, suggest making reservations in the future, great sunset. Had the NY strip and Tuna from Hawaii, all of which were incredible, didn’t catch the servers name, warm and friendly! My only gripe is, there are no plants or trees inside the resort, this would really add to the decor. Great golf, food, service, we will return.

This resort is absolutely gorgeous! Never would I have guessed I was on a staycation in Polk county! I felt as though I was watching a sunset in Arizona or somewhere much further away from home. The staff was amazing and went above and beyond! Drew Fulmer was one who stood out as exceptional, kind, and attentive! I can't wait to go back!

Guys golf weekend trip. It's a decent drive from Naples or even from Tampa to Streamsong. Once you get there the hotel is beautiful. I like modern design and this is an awesome example. Very well thought on a river in the country of Florida. has all the amenities in room and again modern and simplistic. the restaurants leave something to be desired as they are ok. Staff was great caddies not so much. You will like one course or the other but doubt you will walk away saying you have to come back. It's a ways to get to and didn't knock my socks off for the travel and cost of the entire trip. Will go to Bandon Dunes instead.
