Nihi and Sumba Island was an experience of a lifetime. It was great to experience the local culture and the resort was amazing. The weather didn't work in our favour but the team made our stay special regardless. The service and food was amazing. The Spa Sarafi was next level. I hope we can come back again some day. The place is unique, the Sumbanese people are generous and heartwarming hosts and the prevailing culture is enriching and present all around the resort. The team does a magnificent job from rooms to food & beverage, the Boathouse catering the famous surf spot occy’s left, an incredible activity program with amazing choices and not to forget the latest edition of wild wellness with equine therapy - a must do. This was my second time and won't be my last. Such a spectacular experience we all had. Everything about it was outstanding. We were upgraded and we were completely overwhelmed by the breathtaking views. Yummiest food, the best freshest menu. Staff are so very kind and helpful .The horse activities are a must. shame I don't surf, next time i will try.

It’s hard to know where to start with this review. Everything was wonderful. We stayed in one of the Maranga Villas. The interior spaces were beautiful and well designed. The Villas has a nice private pool and a terrace with bale. Great places to peacefully hang out. Walking through the garden, you’ll come to your very own hut by the shore with a bed, minibar, and loungers. Great place for the sunset. The whole vibe of the place very relaxed yet very professional. The restaurant was outstanding! Every morsel that went in my mouth was perfect. We didn’t try the spa—next time, definitely. For me, the highlights of this stay was visiting the Sumba Project and the English lessons. Our visit to the Sumba Project included one of the malaria clinics, and going to a local school to serve a special high-protein lunch to the kids. You can read about the Sumba Project elsewhere, so suffice it to say that they do great work. The English lessons were the highlight of the stay. We spent item answering questions that the kids had, and got to participate in the lessons. The kids are super curious and asked great questions.

Our stay at Nihi was the most unique experience we have ever had. Nihi is well worth the visit and my husband and I will be back every chance we get. Everything is so well thought out and the staff are all so friendly and helpful. The resort offered so many fun activities to keep us occupied as well. Surfing was our favorite! We surfed everyday with Mark. He was absolutely incredible! Nihi has an amazing setup for my husband and I. My husband is an advanced surfer and I am fairly new to surfing and struggle to get into waves on my own. Mark from tropicsurf helped get me into waves at Occy's left. It was my first time using Tropicsurf, and definitely won't be my last. Mark is such an amazing coach, he was so patient with me and he gave me the confidence to surf bigger waves than I ever thought I would. He always knew the best waves to choose for me and if a wave was too steep he would pull me back and make sure I was safe. When he wasn't surfing with me he was helping my husband choose the best waves. He really made our stay. We are already planning our next trip back to Nihi!
