Acqualina Resort & Spa on the Beach in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida

Acqualina Resort & Spa on the Beach picked an ideal location to pitch its bright red beach loungers and cozy hammocks. Fashion types will delight in the proximity of the Bal Harbour Shops and Aventura Mall, while guests who crave Miami Beach’s neon lights can easily get their nightly fix. The biggest temptation, however, is right at the resort – four pools, including an adults-only oasis flanked by cabanas, offer tranquility that can only be topped by a visit to the Finnish saunas and ice fountains at the award-winning spa.

Claim your shaded lounge chair on a quiet, sugary beach early and fall promptly back to sleep. The sun warms you to the core. Drift in crystal-clear Atlantic water and walk back through lush gardens, stopping to sip on a pineapple-mango smoothie by the pool. Take an afternoon drive to explore Miami’s Art Deco district and return for a plate of rigatoni worth writing home about – to your New York friends still waiting for reservations.

Been here 7 times and it only get better and better! The place is awesome, the green area with sofas is unique in all Miami Beach...THE best place ever!!! The team provides such a great services in all senses that is hard to put in words. Everybody is doing everything to please the guest. I love this place for family vacations, for the kids and for us. The Management is so close to you as a guest that you feel that you are one of very few guests. One of the place you HAVE to be sometime. BEST HOTEL experience ever!

We live in Sunny Isles Beach but like to get away from the house without taking a trip once a year. We Always choose Acqualina and this year, despite the Hurricane, it was a joy to spend a long weekend de-stressing. Even though the hotel was hit hard by Irma - I was amazed at how restored the facilities were less than a week later. Spa services were excellent. All the pools were open and I certainly appreciated the Serenity adult only pool!! The bar was open and serving generous pours, and even though the restaurant was still closed from storm damage, Il Mulino was open. And Acqualina is located in the heart of Sunny Isles Beach, so many great restaurants to choose from within walking distance. Bal Harbor and Aventura Mall are only 5 minutes away if shopping is on your agenda. An IPIC movie theatre is just across the bridge 5 minutes away. The beach is really nice along this stretch - easy to walk on. Staff is exceptional and make you feel very appreciated. This is a great spot for those who have done the South Beach scene and are now looking for an elegant and sophisticated resort experience - with or without the family. It is great to have such a resort in our little city!

As a tripadvisor devotee, I chose this hotel for 2 nights based on its glowing reviews. I am somewhat sorry I did. Why? 1. Location. If you are here, you are here. It is not Miami Beach and there is not much else going on. We managed to walk to a pier bar that was fun, but it is somewhat isolated. 2. Checkin was superb. Great doormen and the courtyard was filled with millions of dollars of exotic cars owned by the wealthy residents of the adjacent properties. We here happily handed champagne flutes by the cheery staff and led on a tour by our articulate and gregarious hostess. We got a great lay of the land from this tour and its contents. A superior checkin experience thanks to Kamille. 3.The rooms are spacious, well appointed and elegant, but in a NY style, not Florida. That's OK though. 4. Here we go. The service at the pools and at the beach is somewhere between abysmal and hellacious. When we walked to the beach we had to hunt for someone to pay attention to the fact that we were there, let alone set us up with chairs etc. Not just once but twice. This appears to be the way it is. Are you kidding me? The Ferrari owners parked out front have to drag their chaise lounges into position and place towels and set up an umbrella???? Wow. And by the pool it was worse. You had to set yourself on fire to get someone to take your (overpriced) drink or food order. They need to quadruple their service staff. We were staying within 14 days of the hurricane, so I am willing to grant some slack for the fact that the Serenity (adult) pool was closed for the entirety of our stay. And that the Kosher to Go food kiosk was all but defunct despite being staffed while we were there. And for the black curtains hung to hide the flooded hostess stand at the AQ restaurant. I get it. But given your nearly infinite resources and the value of your reputation, does it make sense to be sucky for weeks? I do not see the stellar reviews supported in our experience. Il Mulino is mediocre at best, too. Sorry. No. No. Much improvement needed.

went there this past weekend not knowing what to expect as a result of Irma. minor damage and inconvenience, but the hotel is still the most gracious in the Miami area. they lost one restaurant but they've done everything to minimize the effect. pools and beach are fine, but there a lot of bald palm trees

We have been coming to Acqualina at Sunny Isles for over 10 years now! Each time just gets better and better. The staff are so amazing and are always attentive to everything and anything we need. Recently, we've been getting a cabana at the pool, and the amazing Sara Garcia has taken the utmost care of us at the pool and we've just loved getting to know her and the people she works with...Giovanna is super amazing and kind, and Glenda always comes to see how we're doing. Their kindness and hospitality is always appreciated and we love it!
