Acqualina Resort & Spa on the Beach in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida
Acqualina Resort & Spa on the Beach picked an ideal location to pitch its bright red beach loungers and cozy hammocks. Fashion types will delight in the proximity of the Bal Harbour Shops and Aventura Mall, while guests who crave Miami Beach’s neon lights can easily get their nightly fix. The biggest temptation, however, is right at the resort – four pools, including an adults-only oasis flanked by cabanas, offer tranquility that can only be topped by a visit to the Finnish saunas and ice fountains at the award-winning spa.
Claim your shaded lounge chair on a quiet, sugary beach early and fall promptly back to sleep. The sun warms you to the core. Drift in crystal-clear Atlantic water and walk back through lush gardens, stopping to sip on a pineapple-mango smoothie by the pool. Take an afternoon drive to explore Miami’s Art Deco district and return for a plate of rigatoni worth writing home about – to your New York friends still waiting for reservations.

Reviews for Acqualina Resort & Spa on the Beach
Have had the great Acqualina feeling and treatment again. Outstanding, And that's due to a fantastic staff. Wow. Compliments. You people are so... For us the most relaxing stay in the (European) winter.

Room was very comfortable for both me and my Rotty; everyone was totally amazing and went out of their way to make sure we were fine. At one point I was at the beach and a lady came upto me and asked me if it was ok to enter my room and see if my dog wanted any toys or water. I had no idea how she even knew who I was. Spa was super great too; the steam room was definitely designed by a top designer into LSD; great trip. Restaurant staff all top knotch; wait was a while for food on beach though (pool bar)

Having stayed in the Acqualina quite a few times when they were a brand new hotel being wined and dined and thoroughly impressed by every aspect of the hotel we were extremely disappointed by our latest visit. Upon our arrival they offered us an upgrade on our room due to us being platinum Amex members we gladly excepted only to be told a few moments later the room wouldn’t be ready for a little bit because of the upgrade. We figured we’d walk around a little bit and receptionist told us it would only be a few min won’t be long. 45 minutes later when the room was still not ready we got into our car and went for dinner came back excited to get into our room after a long flight and day. We opened the door to an extremely bad odor. Not being sure if it was wet mildew from the carpet or if it was coming from the ac vents we went right downstairs and were told they will send someone up. In the mean time we opened the doors shut the ac hoping the smell would go away. After waiting a while someone came up and told us they can bring in an exhaust machine but we can’t be in the room while it’s on ..... having either gotten used to the smell or having it gotten a little better from airing out and ac being off we said were too tired and don’t want to leave the room. We were told that we can switch to a diff room but it would have to be a non upgraded room. Honestly we should have known from that offer that the rest of my stay would go downhill. The following morning we went out to the beach asked for 2 chaired had both chairs set up with stained covered towels we pointed it out to The beach attendant who simply took it off and flipped it to the other side as I watched in horror... I asked him for brand new ones he replied that he always just turns it over and most people don’t mind but he can try and find ones that are not stained .... the next day at the pool only one girl there to attend to quite a few pple after waiting ten min to have a chair set up all I could think of is my stay last yr at the St Regis down the road where they’re pool service was impeccable. In the mean time our room smell was horrible every time we walked in we held our nose... they eventually brought in this exhaust machine that did not help at all. Last but not least on our 3rd and final day, we were meeting friends for dinner called ahead for our car leaving 20 min time for them to bring it. Came down stairs to no car ....we went to valet who said should be another min .... 10 min still waiting 20 min still waiting ... they then told us they misplaced our car and could not find it. After close to an hr our car finally came and they nicely told us next time they’ll keep it close by. Honestly had we been staying for a longer visit we definitely would have checked out after our first day for the smell alone, but since it was a short 3 day stay we didn’t want to deal with the hassle of switching hotels. We are traveling back to Miami later this week with our 3 kids and we unfortunately lost faith and are going to be staying elsewhere.
Breakfast terrible. Staff take food with hands. No higienic. No lactose free or gluten free. Cupcakes old and dry. I would not go back. The vallet does’t work. Do you aske, and wait, wait ... 20-30 minutes. Do you make a reclamation, and the next time, does’t wort again. Not 5 star. Just the price.

I don't know how a hotel of this size manages to treat guests as family. From the moment you arrive, everyone is happy to see you. The welcome you receive is amazing and the smiles everyone has on their faces are infectious. From the moment you arrive, you know your somewhere special. The owner of the Acqualina, must really care about his guests, because the service that you receive is more than what would be satisfactory. It is above and beyond great. Carly was so welcoming and the first of the staff we met, she gave us a tour of the hotel and was passionate about the property, which added to our excitement of our stay. She made us feel so welcome that we left for her and the staff a big box of chocolates we had brought from the uk. Our room wasn't one of the more expensive rooms, but it was stunning neverless. It was very clean and was perfect. Free books to read or even take home were available in our room, this was quite a nice touch. Big tv, jacuzzi bath and a huge shower all added to the luxury of what the Acqualina offers. If you want to pamper yourself, then this is the place to stay. Sitting on one of the bright red sofa's at the edge of the beach was so relaxing. I always like to talk to staff and try to make sure they know how appreciative of the service we have received, and that we are grateful for making our stay great. The manager on duty was a guy called Nelson Perez (who's name i asked for the next day at reception so I could mention him in this review). Nelson was great, looked after my family very well and is obviously one of the assets to making the Acqualina amazing. Even a guy called Sonny, who manned the lifts was such a nice guy. We spoke for about 15 mins and he loved working for the resort. The feeling you get from the staff is that they love working here and as a guest and business owner I understand who difficult it is to get the right staff, but they have managed to do that. I cannot fault anything at all at the Acqualina. If you work hard and deserve a treat then this is the place to go, wether you arrive in a Rolls Royce or turn up in a crappy Toyota rental (that didn't even have a remote control) as i did, you will still be treated the same, you will still be welcomed as friends to the Acqualina.
