All sunshine at Sunriver Resort

Had the pleasure of staying at Sunriver Resort for a conference on the property. Our Lodge Room 228 is a separate building and about a 3 min walk from The Lodge check in desk. And 8 mins from The Homestead conference center. We had two queen beds. Parking is directly in front of the rooms. There are four steps up to the first level room. No elevator or ramp. The room was lovely and spotless. Two cans of complimentary water, coffee maker, fridge, and microwave. Beds very comfy. High-end soaps and lotions. Bonus was the gas fireplace and balcony. What stood out was the customer service! A simple message sent through their app always received a prompt and friendly response. The conference rooms were comfortable. The food at The Lodge Kitchen, Owl’s Nest, and conference were excellent. Plenty of vegetarian and gluten free options. We also used the shuttle that picks you up at your door and brings you to any building in the property. Outstanding experience at Sunriver Resort!

They checked a stranger into my room mid stay.

Really the experience here was a mixed bag. The restaurants, bars and cafes were all what you would expect, generally good food and service. We had some major problems with our reservations that lead to ultimately questioning whether we would host another event here. The morning after we checked in I received an email stating my reservation had been canceled. I texted the front desk letting them know that I was in fact still here, they responded by saying that for some reason I was marked as a no show, I confirmed my room number and they said I was all set. 6 hours later I was sitting on the couch in my room and a random stranger lets themself into my room, we are both shocked and he said the front desk just checked him into my room. No one could explain the why or how. Hair dryer in the room was broken, called the front and requested a new one, letting them know we had a dinner reservation in an hour. 50 minutes later still no hair dryer. Stopped by the front desk on the way back from dinner and they said the resort doesn’t have many so they are probably out? I clearly looked puzzled and 30 seconds later they happened to find one in the back, brand new in the box. Maybe it was just laziness? The mattress in the room we stayed in was clearly well used, had that big depression in the middle that you would keep rolling into throughout the night. To top it all off AFTER we left the resort I get a call to say I need to provide credit card information because they never received it from me. I explained that I gave it to them when I checked in, the response was well they must not have run it. I pulled up my CC app on my phone and quickly determined that this was incorrect and my card had been charged for incidentals deposit. The most concerning part is they couldn’t tell me how that was possible if my cc wasn’t attached to my reservation. I asked if they attached my credit card to someone else’s reservation and they also could not confirm or deny. Whole stay just felt like a circus.
